I picked this up for a 3,000 drive. After some research I had relatively high expectations. Overall the device delivered. Worth every penny! The app is pretty solid as well; more so in areas with other users. My only gripe is that after singing up for the app, I've received several email offers to buy the item I just registered & with additional deal offers. Slightly annoying. The device itself has worked well & delivered exactly what was advertised.

I researched many radar detectors before buying this one. I know it is expensive but it has been great and worth the money if it saves me from getting tickets! I recommend this product to anyone who spends a lot of time in the car!

The initial expense is high with this one, but you get what you pay for. I've traveled with this as my sidekick for approx 5,000 miles so far and have been very please with its performance.

Very sensitive to cops. Love that I knows when I’m near the automatic doors. iPhone app is basic and not a lot of frills. If the app isn’t on, the automatic speed limit is 70mph and then it yells at you saying that you are over limit. Best function is that there is a mute button on the cigarette lighter. So I don’t have to reach up to hit mute on the unit.

This is one of the best detectors I have owned. I started buying detectors in the '80s . I especially like the functionality to lockout local radar sources and to add red light cameras to the detector. The range for highway is good as well. I pickup a KA band about 2 mile out last weekend and it was over a hill and around a small bend in the road. Buy one. You won't regret it.

Recently I decided to upgrade radar detectors due to my Escort 8500 that I'd had for 12 years finally failing with a button wearing out. Initially I was skeptical about spending this much on a radar detector but that concern was quickly allayed once I started setting up the unit. Using the Escort Live App on my iOS device made set up a snap. In the field the unit works great providing alerts for red light cams and filtering out false signals. A nice touch they added with the new units are the multiple color options for the display. I'm pretty happy that decided to exchange the Escort 9500ix for this unit.

The features are outstanding, the ability to update the system as new data comes out on known traps and lights is great. The sensitivity is far better than any detector I've owned. I love the ability to mark false alarms so you don't get annoying alarms at grocery stores etc

Good unit but the suction mount sucks

The radar detector is a good unit but the windshield suction mount comes apart from prolonged mounting/unmounting. The design seems faulty at best....the locking mechanism detaches, which removes the spring and the suction unit from the housing.

I bought this on sale, and I really think that improves the 'bang for the buck' concept. This is leaps and bounds nicer than my previous X50. It has TSR, to reject adaptive cruise control signals while providing speed radar protection. GPS remembers false signals as well.

I have always had a radar detector, but this is by far the best. Escort Live has been a huge benefit and I really like the direct wire smart cord giving me the ability to locate the visual alert where it is most convenient for me.

I bought this product after looking around a bit. The live sync with your phone app gives you real time threat notification which is what makes it worth the money. The radar detector had already paid for itself after avoiding one speed trap I was destined to get spotted.

I had an older passport and replaced it with this, no complaints from either device. I love this one's built in Bluetooth. Used a mirror mount and mirror tap to suspend it below my rear view mirror and pull power from the mirror (auto dim/homelink). This works perfectly and eliminates all the wires in the car. It connects to my phone and the escort live app via Bluetooth. I love having the map, lockouts, and settings on the app.

Easy set up with this radar detector. The voice alert is informative without being alarming. Plus had it had different colors for the display like red, blue, green, and I think amber. And the lcd screen can be dimmed.

It's absolutely an evolution over the prior top of the line 9500ix, although it may have some advances in detection, I cannot say it's better at doing its job. I can say however that the interface is more pleasing, more "professional" it seems more appropriate in my European car, kind of snotty, but true. The app makes it great to adjust the settings and helps make adjustments that would be hard on the unit itself. Best yet is the windshield suction mount- you could tow with it. It will not fall off, ever! Truly, this unit is better and after you get it figured out its more elegant in your vehicle and as usual, as a middle aged male with a 500+hp car, it works!

I haven't used a radar detector in years so the technology on this one kind of blew me away. By hooking up to the Escort Live app you are able to lockout signals that are not a threat (like automatic doors#, but more importantly you can see where other Escort radar detectors have detected recent speed traps and radar threats. This is very cool and although I wasn't sure it would work for my commute here in Madison WI it has found a recent speed trap almost every day during the past 2 weeks - some were still active and some were not. The downside is that you have to turn your app on each time you get in the car for it to sync to the detector with Bluetooth. Also, the app goes for $50 per year #one year included with purchase). If Escort really wants you to use the app you think they'd give it for free so they could have more users reporting threats. Also, the app really sucks the batteries on your smart phone, so you need to keep your phone plugged in if you are driving more than 45 minutes. The only other negative I can say is that the detector rattles loose from the windshield mount constantly. I am always reaching up and clicking it back in. And finally, this product works great for me but I still wonder if buying the cheaper version for nearly half the price would have been just as good. The reviews I read said you get what you pay for so I am hoping that this was a good purchase. Overall, I would recommend it.

Best features of any detector. Bluetooth works well. Screen could be bigger and lacks resolution but none the less displays plenty of info.
