Excellent cameras

The EufyCam 2's beat the Arlo's by far in my opinion. While the Arlo software is a bit more refined, what is important to me is time to load. Arlo took anywhere from 7 to 15 seconds for video to be live. Whereas, EufyCam 2's took less than one second. This is very important to me at least. Plus the fact Eufy plans on having HomeKit secure video support early 2020 and Arlo has NO PLANS to support it.

The performance is acceptable although I ran into lag of responsiveness at times. The features and customization options are acceptable but having a POE system before, I had high if not comparable expectations which these cameras did not meet. If hardwired cameras is not an option for you, this is a good alternative.

I has been great knowing who is ringing the door without needing to get up and look. Also it is great that Eufy does not require a storage plan to save recordings. Works well with home kit and is easy to integrate. I have the motion on the camera above the door turn on my porch light.

It’s a disappointing buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had great hopes for this camera security system after I saw the reviews online but it fell short of what it promised to do. Day one after it was installed, they worked as they should. However the second day after it was mounted, one of the cameras couldn’t sense any human motion. I called Eufy to troubleshoot & the issue resolved. Then another problem happened on the third day & the same camera was unable to detect just human motion. This meant we had to adjust the sensor to detect both human & all motion which drains the battery much faster (battery life was suppose to be good for 1 yr on average use). To preserve battery life, I chose to reduce area the camera monitored, but it still detected motion past the zone that I outlined. Lastly the other problem that occurred 2 weekends in a row was the app sent a message that the system was unable to connect to the server. This meant you can’t delete videos from the cameras & see prior recordings. All of these issues came up & I only had the product for less than 1 month. I needed this surveillance system to work properly to provide security at my home but my confidence with the device continues to erode. Very frustrating!!

You can hear talking and noise through the camera. If some one breaks in to the home, you are notified and can talk to the individual and hopefully scare them away. They can be mounted outside to do the same thing.

One time cost and that’s it. Never had any problem with them. Motion detection works great, records to a local storage that holds plenty, quite customizable. I’ve recommended these to two other people already. Way better than other solutions that continue to charge for subscriptions.
