Summary: I am greatly impressed by the ease of setup and the quality of this device. Everything about it is well thought out and it is even expandible! Pros: - Quality build - Quality video - Solar panels - Expandable - Great app - Easy to set up - Works with Alexa and Google Cons: - Limited mounting options - Limited 3rd party support - No Samsung SmartThings support - Apple Homekit not yet supported Unboxing / setup: Inside you will find the base unit, an ethernet cable, two cameras, mounting hardware, hard drive screws and setup info. Setup is extremely easy! First, download the Eufy app (if you have an Anker account, no need to make a new account, just use that). The app will have you pair the base unit and each camera to the account and it works like magic with a quick scan of each device. After a quick firmware update I was up and running. First impressions: The hardware is extremely high quality. The cameras are chargeable via USB C but there are also little solar panels on the top to extend battery life. The base unit has a pop off top which allows for you to expand the hard drive. Internally there is 16GB in the device, I had a spare 2.5” Sata 128GB hard drive lying around from an old computer so I tossed it in there and after a quick format it worked like a charm. It is expandable up to 16TB so I might toss a bigger HD in there down the road. There is limited mounting hardware included but there are additional options on the website. App: The app is one of the best ones I have used, and I have used competitor devices. One of the first things that popped out to me was facial recognition of common faces, you can use photos from your phone or Google Photos to recognize. There are loads of options for automation including location based use geofencing, schedules, to name a few. In the few days I have had it, the local storage (16GB) has filled about halfway, older videos will delete when it is full. A 128gb or higher hard drive will take forever to fill up, especially if you have Terabytes to fill! There is also a premium subscription you can get if you want emergency options. There are also options for cloud storage if you do not want to go all in on local recording. I was a bit disappointed Samsung SmartThings is not supported and Apple Homekit support is not supported yet either. Google assistance and Alexa are built available. Camera quality: These are 4k cameras so the quality is outstanding day or night. The lag between the phone and the real time camera feed is minimal. Chatting is available between the app and the camera with a speaker in the camera so you can query anyone standing outside your house when you get an alert.

Okay wow. I have 7 other eufy cameras, and they are all great. However, this is my first set of 4k cameras, WOW. Major upgrade for my system, and they really shine over the others I have. The quality is unmatched by my other cameras for sure, as I have other cameras that are also not eufy. The fact that I don't need to pay for service is the reason I like using this brand, you can monitor and record at home with no fees. I use internal storage, even add an external hard drive with this system unlike my other cameras. My other cameras use an SD card, or have built in storage with is great. I plan on adding a hard drive, but it comes with 16GB of internal storage. The home base 3 is nice, feels strong. Installation is super easy too. You will need a smartphone or some kind smart device to set it up initially, but after that it's smooth sailing. When viewing footage from the app, it connects fast even over 5G (which I recommend you at least have when you're away from home). However, over WiFi it's very fast and smooth. The cameras themselves are smaller this time around, and look better too. The fact that they are solar, means I can put them really high one time. Never having to get back on the latter again, I love that. In the end, you'll enjoy the footage, and options for protection these offers.

Won’t record more than a few seconds of the events

I've been using the **eufyCam 3 with 5 outdoor 4K cameras and HomeBase 3** for a few weeks now, and I must say—it's one of the most impressive home security systems I’ve come across. Pros: Crystal Clear 4K Quality: The video resolution is outstanding. You can easily identify faces, license plates, and other fine details even from a distance. Solar Powered Convenience:The built-in solar panels are a game-changer. I haven’t had to recharge the batteries manually since installation, even with moderate sunlight. AI + Local Storage:HomeBase 3’s built-in AI does a solid job of person detection and filtering out false alerts. Plus, I love that everything is stored locally—no monthly subscription needed! Easy Setup: Installation was straightforward. The app walks you through the process, and the wireless design made it simple to mount cameras anywhere. Smart Integration: Works seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant, and the app offers a smooth user experience. Cons: Initial Battery Charge Required: Even though they’re solar-powered, they need a full charge before installation. Plan ahead. Wi-Fi Signal Sensitivity: Placement is key. Make sure your Wi-Fi or HomeBase signal is strong enough to reach all camera spots. If you're looking for a premium, no-subscription-required security solution with 4K clarity and solar convenience, the eufyCam 3 is an excellent investment. It's reliable, intelligent, and offers peace of mind without the hidden costs.

AI is hit amd miss. If U’re getting it for the ai function, U’ll be disappointed that its not able to recognize people most of the time. If it did it would record the face or allow you to be able to edit if face was detected wrong. The 4K x8 image is not truely 4k, 8x zoom os just cropped version of the image wheter 1080p or 4k. In terms of security concerns, wify isnt as private as they claim. Unless something bette comes out, ill stick with eufy for now.

Impressive Quality and Truly Wireless Security – A Smart Investment! I’ve been using the eufyCam 3 Wireless 4K with Solar Panel for a few weeks now, and honestly, it has exceeded all my expectations. Right out of the box, you can tell this is a premium-quality product. Crystal-clear 4K Video Quality. The image is incredibly sharp, even at night. You can zoom in on important details without the picture getting blurry, which is essential for real security. The built-in AI facial recognition is a great feature – it helps differentiate between familiar faces and strangers, cutting down on false alerts. Solar-powered for True Autonomy. The built-in solar panel is a total game-changer. I installed it in a spot with good sunlight and I’ve never had to charge it manually since. It gives you peace of mind and zero maintenance. No Monthly Fees. One of the best things about eufy is that there are no required subscription fees for cloud storage. Everything is saved locally on the HomeBase 3, and you always have secure access to your recordings. User-friendly and Powerful App. The eufy app is intuitive and easy to use. You can view live footage, check recordings, receive notifications, and adjust settings effortlessly. It’s also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. Easy Setup and Sleek Design. Setup was super simple. No drilling or complicated wiring needed. Plus, the camera has a clean, modern look that blends nicely with any home exterior.

I normally don't review products, but this one is the exception. I have been looking for a superb camera home security system for a while now as people have been roaming around our house (we have seen it on our ring door bell cam) and I wanted to document these trespassers. Not only have they deterred the people from coming around any more, they are excellent for keeping an eye around your house. One of my cameras is about 75 feet from the base unit and it works great (full signal). Easy set-up and easy to ward off trespassers with the spot light and/or your voice with the built in speaker. They record in 4k, you can change the settings, but I would not. Just make sure they are getting around 2 hours of sunlight a day and are fully charged before installing them. I have had them only for about a week and a half and no battery issues (knock on wood) yet! Still trying o figure out how to use this Apple home base to add it there but that is a whole another story all together. 5/5 Best camera home security out there, and you can add more cameras if you like. Plus NO WIRES, it is COMPLETELY wireless, except for the home base (obviously).

I’ll start off by saying I’m a big fan of Eufy’s security products. This product is an incredible improvement on an already solid surveillance system. I’ve owned their Floodlight, doorbell camera, and previous wireless cameras over the past few years and I’ve never had a reasonable complaint about their products. Some of the major things I’m really excited about with this product is the solar charging, additional hard drive option, and of course the 4k recordings. Their older camera’s would work for months without needing a charge, and when it did, it was easy to remove the camera, plug it in for half a day or so, and it would be good for a couple more months, depending on your settings of course. I was tempted to get the solar panel chargers for them, but decided it wasn’t really worth it considering how rare I had to charge them. Well now I never have to do it or fumble with any extra devices and mounting, its all built into the camera…awesome! I mounted one camera outdoors and have one currently indoors to compare how well the charging is. Of course its fall time and it’s been a little more gloomy and rainy outdoors then it normally is here, but after a week and a half of doing my initial charge on the cameras and testing, my indoor camera is at 88% (only exposed to some house light) and the outdoor camera is at 95%. So the solar panels def make a difference. When its sunny, it even shows the camera as charging. These numbers are based off the “Optimal Battery Life” profile. Another great thing about Eufy is the storage that is included with their cameras, no need to buy or lease storage from them, they give you SD cards and you can upgrade them to larger capacity if you like. Well 4k takes up much more storage than standard HD video. I REALLY like the option to just pop in 2.5” hard drive into the Homebase. I have yet to do that, but am waiting for black Friday prices for hard drives to get one. I am surprised that it doesn’t accept an NVMe M2 drive as they are much smaller and faster, but either way it’s a great option to have. It goes without saying, but picture quality is great. The colors and details are great (see attached image), so I’m keeping my 4k cameras in the front of the house and my older wireless cameras in the back of the house. These cameras also include an LED light (Spotlight), microphone, speaker, and an alarm that triggers sound and lights. You can choose to have the traditional night vision or use the spotlight to light up an area, but that would drain the battery much quicker. One of the best things about this Homebase is the AI that’s built-in. Now Eufy has their Homebase powered with technology that can detect human faces and you can assign them names. You can manually add faces through the app and it will let you know who it spots in the cameras. With the hardware there, the product will only get better with software updates. Currently, unique cars and pet detection is in works as well. I feel like a lot of it is still in progress and but I’m impressed with what they have done so far. I look forward to being able to setup alerts based on certain recognized and unrecognized faces. Now on the flip side, I can’t say there is much about it that I don’t like. The cameras aren’t that heavy which is a bit of a surprise with all the technology its packing including batteries, but the problem with this is the mounting. I mounted my outdoor camera on the soffit, which is a pretty standard height, but mounting the camera doesn’t give me a great angle. I was limited to how high I could raise the camera so it wasn’t pointing at the ground. I was able to get it to the highest position which I was happy with, and I tightened very tight by hand to lock it in place, but the weight of the camera and gravity caused the camera to droop down and its been angled lower towards the ground. I will need to place this on a higher part of the house to hopefully keep the mount decent. You can see in the pictures I added where it started and where it ended up. Picture attached of the highest angle the camera can reach. Also, the option where you can talk to the camera speaker through your phone is a bit sketchy. I don’t plan on using that option that much, but sometimes it works good and others its like it missed some words or doesn’t pick up the voice from your phone that great. Like it’ll miss the first word or so you say but then start working. The alarm function I’m trying to figure out as well, I can turn it on but turning if off doesn’t seem to be an option, it seems like it times out after 30 seconds to 1 minute. Hoping some software updates can fix all this up. Overall, I really think Eufy is one of the best camera systems that doesn’t require a subscription. It provides alerts and convenience all within an app and you can manage everything from your phone. Others are “free” but they push premium packages on you or don’t let you record to the cloud. I’ve only had this product a couple of weeks, but Eufy has kept my home monitored and safe for years. I haven’t quite got my house setup for Google or Alexa, but I do look forward to being able to use the Eufy cameras with voice assistants. Definitely recommend this product and Eufy in general to my friends and family.

Excellen quality. Teh vidieo close caption has a very good definition. This product has a wonderful capacity storage. Has a premium look and is easy to instal. Excellent batery. This product is good in all the aspects.

I love that these camera's run off solar power. It's now two months later and still runs perfect. I have 1 mounted to brick infront of my garage and another mounted to my sided with a siding clip the siding one bounces some with high wind weather but holds fine charging has been no issue with the sun recording is also great and the picture is good I upgraded the space with a samsung 2TB off amazon my only negatives is the motion detector picks up my tree blowing and my grill cover blowing, since these objects are kind of in the middle you cannot geofence around them, which sucks I also wish when mounting them (you have to spin them till they lock) they had a better system so they would also face level, its hard getting it "exactly" where you want it to point due to this because you are also fighting the mount/screws and you dont want it to "slip" on the back plate while tighten the camera

One of the biggest highlights is that there’s no monthly or annual fee, which is a huge plus compared to other systems that rely on subscription services. The only drawback I’ve noticed is the motion detection range. The camera struggles to pick up people beyond roughly 20 feet, even when they are within the active zone. If the range could be extended, this would be a nearly perfect system. Overall, it’s a great investment for high-quality, subscription-free security, but the detection range might be a limitation for some users.

Hi quality wireless cameras. Easy to set up and connect to wifi. Charges during day and lasts all night. Have caught deer and other animals on them. With this package was able to cover all sides of my house.

Summary: One of the better, not-so-well known security systems on the market. The built-in solar for the cameras, makes you wonder way didn’t more companies offer this product and the ability to put a hard drive directly into the hub for almost unlimited recorder makes this one of the ultimate security systems. In the box: Smart hub 2x solar wireless battery powered cameras with built-in solar Cables Mounting hardware Setup: Eufy makes great strides in making setup easy and intuitive. The in app direction and vpice prompts makes rhe setup a breeze. User Interface: The UI is very intuitive, menus where you expect it to be and very easy to access and find certain feature. Couldn't be better. Recording: The smart hub allows for any size (capacity) SSD drive ro be installed. I put inna 2tb drive for the max amout of recording. I havent gotten to see exactly how many days since 2tb is a very large capacity capacity for an SSD but its well over a weeks worh of footage (only when motion detection is trigger. Conclusion: The Eufycam 3 is one of the best security systems availability that doesnt tie you in to spending extra monthly subscriptions. The smart hub allows for local recording to offer the option of saving money instead of locking you into a subscription plan. The built-in solar panels is a great features. Makes you wonder why didn't someone do this before. Would highly recommend this for anyone.

Awesome cameras especially the 4k model and the battery on the cameras so far are superior to other models i've dealt with! Easy installation and the homebase3 with expandable storage is honestly POG. No subscriptions needed!

Sick of paying so many subscriptions that this product from Dufy provided the right set of features and performance for the price I was looking for without the added yearly cost of a subscription service for the added features and storage. If needed though I could always add on but not needed in my case. Quality 4K video and excellent audio, upgraded the base station storage and the phone app works better and is more intuitive than my Ring app.

Super easy set up. Enough cameras to surround the house! These cameras are clear and respond well to movement and tough weather. Adds so much peace of mind. With they integrated better with HomeKit but Eufy’s platform is pretty efficient on its own.

This pack offers good quality, easy to use and expansion potentials. Easy to set up, control and monitor from my mobile phone. The solar offers battery-worry-free. This is great! The 4K cameras provides HD pics and can be zoomed!
