Eufy Home Base and Door Bell, no subscription

Loading the Eufy security app onto your phone must be done first. The Homebase has 16gig of builtin storage to record all your security connections WITHOUT needing a monthly subscription to anything. You can view and retrieve videos via the app when away from home. No problem.You will eventually need to install an inexpensive SSD into the homebase to get plenty of storage space, but those are fairly cheap. The homebase gives all sorts of security options and will work with several cameras andsecurity devices connected via blue tooth to it. The AI function will identify people and watch for package deliveries and is more customizable than what I need, but some people might like and use all of the features. I've only had it installed a few days, but it is doing exactly what I wanted. The package price for the 2 items was on sale and I think it is a bargain for what you get,and the fact that no monthly subscriptions are needed. Break-even price is much less than a year.

I like that i can save all videos recorded to a local hard drive and not have to pay for cloud storage. I had some old spare 2.5” ssds and the homebase formatted it without issue. I did have to purchase and install a 30VA doorbell transformer because my previous one didn’t generate enough power to keep the battery from draining even though it was hardwired.

Better than Ring overall

I especially like the camera that points towards the ground for when packages are left at the door. I switched from Ring to get away from the yearly subscription and with the Eufy HomeBase I have free local recordings instead of paid Cloud storage from ring. I plan on buying more Eufy Camera's to expand in the future. Only real complaint is no Widgets for my phone like the Ring camera's have. I hope they add them in the future.

It took a little doing, but we got it working perfectly with Alexa, and we are quite pleased with it.

The package delivery view is a nice touch. Haven’t tried the AI features or web interface yet - will do when I have time and post the results.
