I've been an anime fan for awhile. The movies for Evangelion have always looked good. This one had everything. Amazing battle scenes, nice monster designs and great computereffects.

Movie itself is good but I'm little disappointed that it didn't come with the orange slip cover as shown in the thumbnail of this product

The cover is Mari, not the orange sleeve. Other than that no cosmetic damage to the product.

Picking up where 1.0 left of 2.22 begins with refining the Neon Genesis Evangelion series. Some have called this a remake or an alternate universe and I find that to be false. 2.0 and the rest of the rebuild projects are more like a final draft of eva. The voice work is superb and the animation is just great to look at. The ending just made me not want to wait for 3.0 and the finale to come out. I found Rei more of a character this time with a personality instead of a mindless doll and really enjoyed the decision to give her a persona. I still wish they let us know what exactly what happened to Asuka and I found Mari to be a nice contribution to the pilots because I was afraid she would ruin some of it, however she made it better. Even if you didnt like the original series or youre trying to get into it or even if your a die hard eva fan this movie is a great contribution to any anime fans collection.

The second installment in the Evangelion film series is nothing less than stunning. Those familiar with the first film have nothing to worry about when it comes to expecting great things from its sequel. The film follows the original storyline from the series with some creative adjustments, including the addition of Mari and the brief cameo of Unit 5. The storyline does skew from the original storyline more often than in the first film, but in the end, the changes make more sense and can be seen as a vast improvement. The graphics and animations are on par with the first film, especially in the blue ray format. The effects and contrast of the colors used give a greater depth to the overall experience. Overall the movie is amazing. The only negative I find is the usual voice acting between languages. The English voice overs are better than most films but could still use a little tweaking in that the insults and cursing is far from believable. And I apreciate that scenes meant to be in English speaking countries are still in English during the Japanese audio set up, but still sound really cheesy.

From the beginning I was expecting 2.22 to pick up from the series just like 1.11 but I was completely blown away on how different they took the story. It still follows a little with the original series but with major differences. The characters are just as compelling and its more straight forward. It's refreshing!! I'm a huge evangelion fan and I've been watching it since 1997 and I must say you can not advance is great. If your getting into anime, Evangelion is must in your collection.

how do i eview something so intense. This movie is not the series, it is better it is darkier, it is just plain better. i have been an otaku for 15 years of my life. I have never seen a movie so well done before in my life. This is not for kids, even some teens might find this harmfull, but it is beautiful in so many ways, the music, the art, the story. Just get it, you will never see anything like it again

It would be hard to live up to the amazing first movie, Evangelion 1.11, but Evangelion 2.22 somehow managed to do that and more. The film starts out with an action packed scene and never lets up. Viewers will feel for the characters and be emotionally invested in them and whatever happens to them. This film is a must see for any anime fans, and any fans of good movies period.

This movie takes place where 1.11 left off. Asuka finally joins the story,and the story begins to change from the way it was in the original series.

Displayed packaging is misleading. For someone looking for the orange box to fit the 3.33 blue box, you will most likely not get it even if it's displayed on the page.
