Customers often highlight the retro appeal of the Evercade Premium Pack, appreciating the nostalgic memories it evokes. However, some express dissatisfaction with the screen quality, suggesting room for improvement. There are also mixed opinions on the game choices, with some feeling that the Atari cartridge could offer a more extensive selection of games for its price point.

Really having fun with this. I'm into collecting physical media so this is hitting the sweet-spot for retro-gaming and having games in boxes. The community is friendly and open to ideas and suggestions, so I'm looking forward to being a part of this as it grows and develops into a must-have gaming system (for all intents and purposes, it's already there, it just needs the library).

Its a neat concept, but this device is cheaply made. I get that it has a low price point, but there are various other devices in this price range that are much better quality. The screen has very poor resolution, significant light bleed, and extremely poor viewing angles. There were gobs of glue around the edges of the screen and device shell that were not easily removed. The shell itself is a slippery cheap feeling plastic that does not feel like it would survive an accidental drop. The D-Pad is admittedly very nice, but every time you hit any of the buttons on this device there were some strange metallic "boing" noises that came from inside the unit every time you'd hit a button or the D-pad which became annoying really quickly. Lastly, the unit had a difficult time reading the cartridges. Sometimes they would register immediately, other times you had to re-insert them a half dozen times to get them to work. I was also disappointed to learn that all of the included games are 8 / 16 bit home console versions, not the arcade versions. Evercade's rationale for this was consistency in screen resolution, but it would have been nice to also have the arcade roms included (similar to the various Atari Flashback collections), as many of the console ports are vastly inferior their arcade counterparts. In addition, the cartridges are extremely difficult to find as they are frequently out of stock or marked up on auction sites. If they ever upgrade this device or improve it I'd be willing to give it a second chance and I may still consider getting the Evercade VS home console if it comes out. As it is now, it seems that its nothing more than collectible or novelty item for people who are interested in retro games and owning physical cartridges.

I was a bit tentative as I am not much of a handheld gamer at this point. But I am overwhelmingly impressed with the quality of the Evercade. I love having cartridges, I love the boxes and full color manuals, and the selection of games is really intense.
As well and very importantly, the Directional pad is honestly amazing. It's not quite as good as say, the old Genesis Six Button arcade pad. But it is MUCH better than the PS4's, or the Xbox One's. I would put it nearly on a par with the Switch Pro Controller D-pad. And the buttons too, this is a great little system. As well, the screen is just absolutely fantastic.
For the cartridges in this pack, I am having fun with all three. My favorite games are on the Atari pack; Food Fight, Alien Briage, Ninja Golf, Yar's Return, and Centipede are all a ton of fun. For the other carts, Earthworm Jim is good (if difficult!), and Fighter's History is silly but has pretty decent SNES type graphics going for it, and I was surprised at how much fun I had playing through this "broken" fighter from back when. Very eager to get my hands on Xeno Crisis, the Namco cartridges, the other Atari Cartridge (for Asteroids 7800 and Demons to Diamonds), and the Lynx cartridges as the reviews are very strong on those.
Please Best Buy, get in the cartridges soon! I don't want to have to shop Amazon, Best Buy is a much better company to support.
Oh, and speaking of which, my Premium Pack was shipped fast, packed well, and worked perfectly immediately.

Pros: Nice design, cartridge oriented, incredibly thorough booklets/instructive inserts, and my personal favorite, a wonderfully presented and great looking box to display!
Cons: not USB-C compatible, poor screen quality, mediocre (at best) sound quality, system shuts off after disconnect from t.v(not acceptible), game choices could be way way better, and lastly but mostly, the gigantically high price of $100 bux!
Conclusion: if ya want something that looks good for a collection and is nastalgic enough to get a few quick moments of fun out of, this is for you. If you are looking for a handheld device that plays great, has replayability, looks great, sounds great, and is cheaper, this is not for you.... I've paid much less for more efficient handhelds.

This is a no brainer. A really nice portable console that comes with 3 packs of games with more packs of games available for purchase. Still deciding?? If you’re feeling nostalgic, it’s an easy purchase.

Great game package. Its got all the old games from back in the day and Evercade has about 20 cartridges already out with plans for more. Rumor has it Colecovision and Intellivision games will get their own cartilages. FYI I got it thru Best Buy at $50 less than Amazon so I’d recommend it from this site.

This was an impulse buy because it was on sale. I’m so glad I followed that impulse. The Evercade is an inexpensive handheld retro gaming device. The games are emulated and licensed. The games are all on cartridges which slide into the top/back of the handheld. The screen is good and the sound emulation is good. You can use a mini hdmi cable to hdmi to connect the Evercade to a television. The hdmi picture quality is quite good. The control button placement is very comfortable. The game compilations on each cartridge should have something for everyone. A surprise for me was the release of two Atari Lynx compilation cartridges. I bought the second Lynx cartridge and really enjoyed the games. The Evercade I purchased came with three cartridges and I’ve enjoyed each cartridge.

Fun retro gadget. Bought it for the Lynx games, but have enjoyed all the ones played. A lot of fun indy games as well as the obvious classics.

Its been fun catching up on some old games from childhood. My only complaint is each cartridge should be able to load a lot more games, so hopefully they're able to get more companies to license more material.

Game because I remember when I was young even the games I played, plus the price was very good from Best buy. I did have to wait a little longer than the day I was supposed to get it but the best thing about it it kept me informed down to the very day I got it in delivery thank you Best buy I will be buying more things from you.

I waited two weeks for bestbuy to ship my evercade. When I finally got it yesterday, I opened it up and couldn’t wait to start playing. However I quickly realized the left directional pad button would not work. No matter what game cart I put it, no matter how many times I restarted and no matter the fact that I updated it to v.1.3.1 made no difference. The evercade I waited so long for was broken. Thankfully bestbuy gave me an immediate refund in store, I put another order in for a premium pack evercade on Best Buy’s website. It comes in a few days (hopefully) and I will update this review, if the darn thing isn’t broken again. My initial impression last are about the poor build quality.

Only giving 2 stars because the game ports that are used on these carts are mostly sub par. The screen on the Evercade is only good enough, nothing special. Buttons and D-Pad are nice and good quality so A+ in that department. if I could it would be 2 and a half stars but I gave it 2

I've had this system since the launch and it's a pretty impressive piece of hardware for the price. The biggest draw was a physical collection of games that I can purchase legally and get to experience games I may have missed in the past. The other nice aspect is that the cartridges are only $20 a piece with many of them having 10+ games on a collection. There are some notable publishers such as Namco, Data East, and Atari along with a few obscure publishers that provide some region specific content not published in the US.
As far as the system itself, it has a solid D-pad similar to the Genesis in that it's a rolling D-pad. The buttons have a nice tactile feel to them as well with the should buttons being clicky. The screen itself is okay and gets the job done though in this day and age it would be nice for it to be a little bigger and crisp. However most of the games are not made for modern screens so I'm sure there was a balance on what would work well with the games. The speakers are functional but nothing great. The system is light weight which is good and bad. With it being a handheld it does reduce strain by being lighter weight.

Fun with a large selection of games. I love the cartridge games as it is a blast from my Atari past. The only complaint is that this hasn’t caught on more in the U.S. as there are very few places having this system in stock. The 8 bit graphics are a bit crude for these times, but this is a retro system and the games are licensed and just like the originals. Great system for the price
