Great entry level power supply

loud fan

So while all those fans are able to run basically silent, this PSU fan is grinding away with it's annoying sound. It is by far the loudest component in my pc, to be fair it's been hard to find a psu that doesn't have a loud fan, so the quest continues...

Not up to snuff for gaming.

I don't have any fancy lighting or any other extra power hungry equipment. This power supply was not powerful enough to power my system without shutting down unexpectedly minutes into gaming. Unfortunately I thought my video card was the problem and RMAd it but it turned out it was this Power Supply so I was just after the return period and Best Buy would not take it back, despite buying the 850 W Corsair Plus Gold. It seemed to run fine with outdated equipment (e.g. a loaner Geforce 960 ran fine with it) but if you plan to do modern gaming with high end video cards look elsewhere and save yourself the headache.
