Definitely a contender in the capture card market. The passthrough is just that, pass through. Cant record with passthrough. As far as streaming in 4k, you really cant because no platform currently supports 4k. Still a good buy if youre looking to stream/record in 1080p60.

Well worth it, the pass through will give you the 4k 144hz plus but your unable to record, the 2k or lower res you can record.
The pass through it there so you don’t have to worry about unplugging anything when not in stream mode or recording, it’s just convenient for me to keep things plugged in unlike the elgato.

I haven't figured out how to use the top nob for anything other than changing the speed of the color display, but I haven't really needed to. If you are using obs studio all you do is plug in to the device you are capturing and then use the dual usb end into your computer. I use it to stream me playing games on the switch in conjunction with an app called voicemeter. This allows me to hear the gameplay. I also only have one monitor, so I play the game through OBS when streaming. I would say catch it when it's on sale, but I definitely recommend it.

The device works as advertised. The HDMI passthrough is great. It could have better instructions with it rather than online only though.

Was looking for a decent capture card for my son to stream his Xbox play. Setup is extremely easy and it works great so far.

Worked great after I turned the Sony FDR-AX53 HDMI output to auto.
