Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead is a classic movie worthy of a good remake and that's what this is. Where as the original is campy this one is creepy, gory, and fun. My only complaint is that the movie really isn't all that scary. 8/10

Faithful devotee of the originals, love this remake. One of the most frightening movies of recent memory. Searched movie sections at stores for months for this at a low price, to no avail. Was about to buy through Amazon when finally found it at Best Buy for $10!

This is one of those rare remakes that turned out to be great. Please note this is not as comic and over the top as the original. Fact: this was directed by the same director of 'Don't Breathe'. I loved that movie, and I loved this one as well.

This was a decent remake of Evil Dead, but there was nothing great about it. Had a few good scenes, but in no way could I recommend this over the original. Solid blu ray quality though if you can pick it up at a bargain price.

This was a good remake of the original Evil Dead with Bruce Campball (my fave back in the days). The acting was great which always makes a remake a good viewing in my eyes. I would definitely recommend seeing or buying it.

This remake is awesome even if it doesn’t have Bruce Campbell, there some creepy and disturbing scene that are amazing. This set is the best release containing the uncut and theatrical cut of the film

This was a very good remake. The only flaw I can think of was when it reveals what was chasing a character in the woods. The original left it up to the viewer to decide.

A worthy remake of the Original Evil Dead. Jane Levy goes through hell and back in this bloody but extremely entertaining horror flick. Stick around after the end credits for an awesome cameo...

I usually am skeptical about reboots and remakes but I can safely say this movie paid it's dues. It was beautifully shot and the effects were fantastic. The music matched with the grotesque and realistic horror will keep you on the edge of your seat.

it's not just a rehash of the original movie, and it's also not too different either—however it is more serious in tone, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Great movie, unrated is the way to go

If you've seen the original prepare yourself for a different movie. While the heart of the movie remains the same...possessions...bloody killings...etc...the storyline is quite different and not as hokey as the original.

I thought that Evil Dead was a light hearted horror spoof from the 80s. I was right, and wrong. I caught this on accident, and didn't sleep that night. If you like horror movies and respect the classics, pick this up.

The Evil Dead (Ultraviolet Digital Copy) (DVD) remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film was impressive given the popularity of the original film. Most notably this film was very scary despite knowing the plot line.

DUUUUDE! I was super excited to here this remake was being made, and while it differed slightly from the cult favorite original, it provided enough nuance to stand on it's own. The special effects updates were especially cool to watch. Cannot wait for the next one!

im a fan of the evil dead movies. it was hard to watch the movie without Ash but overall it was a good remake. the storyline kept close to the original and the acting and graphic scenes were good. I recommend it.

Nothing major but a few scenes have a few extra minutes added to them. Worth it for the die-hard Evil Dead fan.. also contains the standard version of the movie as well

Not quite a sequel, and not quite a remake, this film covers familiar ground while offering plenty of new scares. Even better is the use of practical effects over CGI, adding a bit of gruesome reality to the gore.

This movie was awesome. Had all the great elements from the original, with a definite update. Lots of gore and fright. The dvd was on sale, so I went ahead and picked it up. If you're wanting the full set of bonus features, go ahead and pick up the blu-ray.

The original movie was ground breaking and one of the scariest movies I have seen. I was curious to see the remake and how it compared to the original. I was not disappointed so, if you like a good fright night give this movie a spin (keep the lights on)!

The theme is great and the movie is scary. They did a good job with the makeup and special effects. However, as the case appears to be with a lot of horror movies, the actors have their hit and miss moments.
