Peter Ustinov’s second appearance as Hercule Poirot based on the Agatha Christie novel of the same name. An all star supporting cast includes Diana Rigg, Maggie Smith, Roddy McDowell and more. The essential plot, murder of an American entertainment star married unhappily to a wealthy Englishman, remains, but there are significant differences between movie and novel. For instance, the movie’s location is an exclusive health resort on the Albanian side of the Adriatic. The novel is set in a health resort in England. The movie accentuates “posh” feeling with glitz and a Cole Porter music score. (Cole Porter’s signature is visible in the hotel registration book.). There is also a musical duet between Diana Rigg and Maggie Smith. But the story remains an excellent Agatha Christie murder mystery.

EVIL UNDER THE SUN is another awesome Agatha Christie who-done-it to relish, with an excellent cast throughout. In particular, this tale keeps you guessing until Poirot details the clues and the murderer at the end. This is a real puzzler because everyone has an alibi, but Poirot is the master puzzle solver. Petere Ustinov is superb, and Maggie Smith turns in another bravura turn as the hotel owner. Buy the DVD..you'll love it. Even if you are a seasoned Christie fan or not. This is a winner!!!

One of our favorite Agatha Christie films. Love all the actors in this one, especially Peter Ustinov and Maggie Smith. This version of Evil Under the Sun is very well done. IMO, the film is second only to the 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express with its all-star cast.

Great Agatha Christie mystery with a terrific all-star cast. Peter Ustinov, Maggie Smith, James Mason, and the late great Diana Rigg. A must see for murder mystery fans. Great Cole Porter score and island locals! Not to be missed!

This is a classic I got the crusty movie they just put it on Blu-ray. Lots of great actors in this movie I would recommend this movie to anybody that's interested.

Great cast, beautiful locations, and a fun mystery. Even better on blu-ray. The best of this series, in my opinion.

Classic Agatha Christie story, well-known actors and good acting, filmed in interesting locations. This is an enjoyable movie.

but that's not a bad thing in his second spin as Poirot. More great locations and a great cast.
