Reminds me of Predator

This title has that 80's SCI-FI flick feel. Sort of similar to Predator and Aliens respectively. You're one of the best or you can be one of the beasts. Just kidding a bit. It's great. It's epic hunting as one of 4 classes. Then again, you can hunt as a monster. There are lots of options and game modes to explore. Story is not what you're playing the game for. This is no Last of Us, where you can't even shoot the birds. In this one, everything is open for a bullet or claw.
There is some tower defense i.e.. MOBA included: Defend. Nest: which the monster defends some eggs for a few minutes. Hunt: The basic hunt the monster mode. Track down and help colonists to their ship: Rescue.
A solid solo mode makes offline enjoyable. Bots fill in just like Left 4 Dead.
I liked the mechanics of Left 4 Dead and they live on in this game.
Repetition is known in the world of huntsmen. A good "Strat"/ "Stratagem" / Strategy goes a long ways against human controls participants. But, yes hunting could be considered a repeatable exercise. Ask predators. They're a little obsessive about their tactics.
There is a big controversy regarding the DLC and in-game purchases. It's safe to ignore. I did.

Nice Change of Pace

In a online game market that is full of nothing but Call of Duty style first person shooters 'Evolve' is a very nice change of pace. I am not usually one for class based shooters but the variety and uniqueness makes it very fun and make each class fun to play. The lack of game modes is unfortunate and there are still a few bugs in the game which I have seen random falling through the ground. The only other complaint I have is some of the aiming mechanics when playing as the soldiers causing very random and inaccurate firing even when aiming down sights which, at critical times, can cause a very unfair advantage to those playing at the monster. Other than that it is a great and fresh game for the first person shooter genre.

Imagine if the boss hunted you...

This is such a cool game - you play a hunter, tracking down a godzilla-sized and strength monster that is also hunting you. It's 4v1 (hunters vs. monster) and while the game may remain the same over time, each match is different since there are humans controlling everything except the environment. The hunters and monsters each have tons of different abilities that makes them play completely differently from each other. I HIGHLY recommend this game if you like multiplayer games. Just know that there is no real single player option, you will be matched with other humans online.

Fun game, but repetitive

The game is great. I like the idea of being able to play as a hunter, or the monster being hunted. Do not really like that it is online oriented, still is pretty fun. After awhile it does tend to be pretty repetitive.

A lot of possibilities!

The game is meant to be played online with people. This game will keep adding Monster and hunters and all force you to play differently. This game requires that people work together or the monster will win with ease.

Just like TitanFall

I think the gameplay is not bad and I believe that graphics are pretty good. Being able to control the monster makes the game unique compare to many other games. Being able to hunt the Monster with your friends also adds some excitement to the game.
However, their is not a true campaign to play were you get a great story from. Its a lot like how Titan Fall had a "campaign" but really truly had no great story and the game was meant to play the same game mode over and over again.
And when judging the game on a online basis it does not have a lot of selection. Lack of customization with your character and not many game modes to chose from. Within a couple hours of playing the game you will find your way back to your other online games, such as Call of Duty.

Good, but needs more..

The game features some nice gameplay modes not seen in many games such as play the monster or hunt. The game Features 4 classes and a few hero choices for each class. These players must work together to bring down one of the many monsters available to players as well. The gameplay is good for both sides. The undoing on this game seems to be the lack of game modes, maps and characters. Another common complain online is that this game only features multiplayer modes with no campaign. A good game, but gets boring quickly

This game is something new, I like that you are actually fighting a monster being controlled by a person. I also like that there is 3 characters for every class, it lets you play the way you want and that's great.

When it comes to hunting, its like fishing gotta wait and chase all day long and that can be boring, but when it comes to the part when hunters and monster encounter, it's a whole long of fun.

I' haven't logged that many hours in this game which is odd because I was SO excited about it for months. Its solidly made and looks great but feels somewhat hollow. You can definitely get into it though and I've seen clips that make me more interested, but be warned that this isn't your normal game experience which isn't particularly a bad thing.

Awkward controls, dark

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I realize that this game is supposed to be "intense" but it's also dark so the detail in the graphics is diminished. The controls are awkward - unnecessarily so. The monster controls essentially make it a "button-masher" at times and the monster isn't very responsive. The microtransactional model is also a little irritating, but that didn't influence my score.

2K really did awesome with this game. Different aspect all together, they took what worked with Left 4 Dead and made and amazing game. From having a variety of hunters and monsters and they keep adding to the game. I hope that we see more from Turtle rock like this.

I guess it had good advertising because my son had been talking about it forever. Not sure it was worth the launch price, definitely worth what I paid for it. Fun little game that gets repetitive.
