The small Excalibur does a good job, it just takes longer to dehydrate most things than the manual suggests. But I am happy with it. It is pretty compact, and turns out quality results, in a bit more time.

This dehydrator is basic in functionality but of very high quality. We are using it for Precious Metal Clay (PMC) jewelry. One key item to note - a common theme amongst internet reviews for this item is that the biggest disadvantage is the lack of an on/off switch. This has been corrected and this unit does have an on/off switch.

This 4-tray unit (as opposed to the usual 9) is very compact and fits great where I need it t be. Who needs a big one unless you plan on selling the stuff...it can run for days (if you need it to). The instruction booklet is quite adequate to dehydrate virtually anything you can imagine . It's a great way to provide healthy snacks for a hiking or camping trip, for school or work, or even to store for "emergency" rations (like one of our hurricanes, for example). It's much healthier than canning because you don't cook the food to death. The only negative thing about it is that the switch (along with the thermostat dial) is a bit awkwardly placed at the back (top) of the unit, so I have to pull it out a bit if I want to change the dial. Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

This Dehydrator worked decently for the price, it was a great deal. I would’ve like something with a little bit more power and another shelf. Overall this is a good item.

Perfect size for me. Probably too small for someone who dries a lot at once. Very quite, I have been running it almost constantly since it was delivered. Does exactly what its supposed to.

I purchased this in hopes of making fruit "chips" for my son...but the fruit does not get crispy - more of a leathery texture. Everything tastes great and the machine is very quiet...just wish I could make "chips." It's also upsetting that Best Buy doesn't offer Geek Squad protection for this item.

After using a round dehydrator I coveted a Excalibur. I now understand why it is recommended so highly. Very durable, easy to use and clean up. Works perfectly with parchment paper. This will make eating more living aka raw foods easier. A++

We were searching for a food dehydrator and this one was perfect. It is the perfect size (some are bigger but we didn't need more than this size). Its easy to learn how to use and works great!

We bought this dehydrator to make yogurt, dry nuts and fruits. It works great. The trays have different layers that can be put on for holding various types if food. All trays can be removed to allow jars to be places in it, which we use to make yogurt. It has an adjustable heat setting to accommodate different recipes.

Purchased this product to stop the waste of food. Once it arrived I have dehydrating everything. Doesn't take up much room on the counter. The dehydrated fruit is wonderful a much healthier snack. If you don't plan on doing a lot of food storage, this is a great buy!

Loads easy and the thermostat makes it easy to use.

Excalibur dehydrators motor is in the back air blows across food. Other motor is on the bottom air goes up through layers of wet food. I make dog treats fruit leathers, jerky and applets and cotlets candies.

The dehydrator works great. It is easy to set up and is versatile. You can use one tray for large items or multiple trays for small items.

It now has an on/off switch which is new since the last one I had. Better than plugging/unplugging. Must have tool for a vegetarian/raw foodist.

This thing has clear directions easy to clean and to use

We love our new dehydrator. We been making fruit leather and they come out amazing. We only wish that we purchased a larger one.

I have 2 Excalibur dehydrators. They work very well.

I did my research before purchasing this unit, I looked all over, and most signs pointed towards Excalibur Dehydrators. After the unit arrived, I dived head first into the world of dehydrating. Everything from beef jerky (amazing), to drying herbs from the garden (far superior to store bought herbs) turned out great. The system is easy to maintain, has a small footprint, and is easy to use. 5/5 stars, would buy again.
