Ultra HD Blu Ray is in its infancy this was the first movie I watched on my Samsung UBD-K8500 4K player. The picture quality is amazing the level of detail is noteworthy. However the picture was very dark at times took a while to adjust the picture to get the video setting correct but even then it was a little dark.

In reading the mixed reviews before I purchased this, I was hesitant. However, most were negative because it didn't follow the Bible exactly. It uses the Bible as a guide, but this is not meant to be a documentary. It is a very good movie and worth multiple viewings if for no other reason than the 3D picture quality.

Good production and 3D, poor story choices

The production values of the move are strong with great visuals and the epic feel you expect from a Ridley Scott movie. The 3D effects are also very strong and I would recommend picking up that version if you have the setup. My issues with this movie come down to the story. When it comes to biblical epics why do filmmakers feel they need to explain "God" or downplay the role. If someone is going to a movie about Moses then they already accept that part of the story, stick to it and you will pull in way more money. Although this one does stray as far as the recent Noah movie it does try to show Moses relationship with "God" as potentially him just being crazy and that Moses would rather wage a war then let God do his thing. I still enjoyed the movie but there are little things that will nag at the back of your mind if you have ever read a Bible before while watching this.

To be honest, I wasn't to sure if I really wanted to see this movie...but I did and it was actually better than what I expected! I knew the 3D effects wouldn't let me down, so with the movie actually being better than expected I actually throughly enjoyed it. Watched it twice already and still would recommend it.

    What a Movie

The Exodus movie really brings the Old Testament to life. Christian Bale does an amazing job as Moses. No one can image how the story of Exodus played out in reality, but this movie can lead to a discussion about the movie versus the Old Testament version. What would you do, if this happened during our life time?

The cinematography was great. Special effects were almost awesome too. It really condensed the original movie and the story veered some. Had some variations that I did not like as much as the original. If you haven't seed the original movie , then you must see it too. Overall I am not disappointed in the movie.

I already own this movie on blu ray and digital download. I bought it again because it was on 3D and on sale for only $9.99. For the special effects on 3D , they were great. I recommend anyone that has a 3D tv to buy this movie, especially when it goes on sale at Best Buy for $9.99

very good all around except for the child representing God ... also the fact that Moses wrote the 10 commandments in stone .. excuse me but I believe the Bible states that they were written by the finger of God, much as I like Ridley Scott from a religious standpoint he missed the boat ..................

    Update of a classic

Twenty-first century update of the Ten Commandments story. Most of the storyline is more plausible in a scientific slant of the plagues that besieged the Pharoah and Egypt. Depicting God as a child seemed amusing. Lots of special effects, made it more spectacular in 4k HDR format.

The movie expressed a different view to the Bible version of what happened during Moses' leading the Jews out of Egypt. The parting of the sea appeared to be just the lowering of the water followed with a flooding. It was different and some younger viewers might have questions concerning the movie.

The book is better, but this is a perfectly fine Blu-ray transfer of a perfectly fine movie. Purists may fret about liberties taken with the source material, but keep in mind that the source material is very short, and not very heavy on fine detail to translate to the screen.

I can appreciate why it didn’t get big kudos for taking advantage of the rich subject matter it was based on. But, found it very enjoyable for special effects and sound. I also think that the actors, particularly Bale and Edgerton, did a great job despite what seemed to be little to work with.

Bale the Dark Knight returns as Moses in this religious action/thriller. The movie is about Moses journey and how he freed the Jews from slavery. Movie takes place during an era when Egyptian rulers believed themselves to be gods. It was entertaining from beginning to end.

I'm a fan of Scott's movies so I'm biased. I don't think this was meant to be a blockbuster. It's a straight forward interpretation. Mostly low key with a good staging of the plagues. The crossing of the Red Sea is the only spectacle near the end. Over all well done.

If you are into epic movies based on what may have happened in what is accepted as history, then you might enjoy this film. I liked the film very much and especially the 3D version. I watched it on a 123" screen, so the 3d effects are truly enjoyable. Very entertainng.

Despite being a huge Christian Bale fan, I had put off watching this for a while because of the white-washing and because I don't get into biblical movies. Putting that all aside, I was pleasantly surprised by this. It looked and sounded fantastic too!

I'm a sucker for well done representations of ancient cultures. And this was really well done. Very accurate in costuming and architecture. Gritty, subtle performances. Believable interpretation for the most part. And in the end, when Moses peeks out of the wagon? I got goose bumps.

This is a good movie, especially the effects. Most bible-type movies are not accurate historically, and this one is no exception. I mean really, G-D talking to Moses as a kid? Well, I guess anything is possible, LoL. But, overall, a good film and lots of action.

New twist to an old story of Moses. The film makers try to portray this biblical event as a real life occurrence. There are still some parts that can only happen through divine interference, but it does a good job of showing how real disasters could have influenced the story telling.
