CLASSIC MURNAU
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TARTUFFE or Herr Tartüff (1925) is from Director F. W. Murnau. He also gave us the classic vampire film NOSFERATU (1922) and the wonderful film SUNRISE (1927) and the great HAUNTED CASTLE. What is it about? A young man shows his millionaire grandfather a film based on Molière's Tartuffe, in order to expose the old man's hypocritical governess who covets his own inheritance... So, yes, this classic silent film uses the film-within-a-film device. (possibly for the first time?). Still, This is a classic tale and i do recommend this grand KINO-Lorber Blu-ray. It loos amazing.
