Just finished the game - Awesome!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks like another great game from the Oblivion creators.Although there are some similarities with this game-mainly your interaction with NPC's-,it's also vastly different in execution.Satisfying(and often brutal) combat, lots of customization options for your character evolution,a huge world to explore,a cool post apocalyptic style combined with 50's retro aesthetic gives great atmosphere. And of course the way you can approach situations can be varied and that's the biggest advantage of the game:You can be good, evil or something in between. And of course see the outcome of your actions. The only things that i'd like to see improved is the game started freezing up about 60+ hours in - so save often. But this a minor setbacks for an otherwise very rich gaming experience. It took me over 105 hours to beat the game competing every side mission and main mission. Totally worth the money!

Deepest Gameworld Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible game with tons of replay value, added by the fact that there are many Downloadable content offered by Bethesda, the publisher. It's only fault is the rather clunky combat system and the stilted dialogue. A great purchase.

Don't miss out on "Fallout 3"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The team at Bethesda has done it again. Any gamer who has played RPG's has probably played Bethesda's big RPG hit "Oblivion". Well they've done it again. Fallout 3 starts you out at birth and well it's up to you how your life goes, or ends? The place is Washington D.C. the year 2277. D.C. has become a wasteland after, 200 years ealry, the nuclear war hit. This game is full of radioactive mutants who just want to get a chance to tear you limb from limb. But that's just the action side, Your dad has left the Vault the only place you've ever lnown. Now it's all up to you to enter the Wastelands, find your dad, and maybe discover....???? You will spend at least 400 hours on this game. If your looking for a game that will give you your money's worth....Fallout 3 is it.

Overall, a Must-Have.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bad: The game freezes up sometimes, which is to be expected in a game with a huge, open world map. Saving often helps to make sure progress doesn't get lost. Most of the glitches are harmless and won't effect gameplay (dead creatures twitching, etc). The Good: The game doesn't require you to do the main quest to get further in game. You can spend as much time as you want completing side-quests and exploring. Also, with the choices on customizing your character (sneaky, intelligent, strong, good, bad) you have a game that truely changes with each choice you make. It's very fun and worth every penny. You will definately get alot of use and time out of this game.

Incredibly detailed RPG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is my first experience with an actual RPG. I think that I was frustrated for the first two hours of gameplay, because I wasn't used to all of the facets of the game. After four hours however, I was hooked! I've played this game over three times now, and it just unfolds like the best science fiction novels do. detailed environments and innovative character interactions make this game not for those looking for light play.

Hours of gameplay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is a dark version of Oblivion with game play differences that make the two companions rather than just more of the same. It has a very "gray" feel to it throughout the game. There is a Main Quest and numerous side Quests but it also allows free form play that ignores both. I found the 20 level limit easy to hit early. If you play for exp points and character rewards you will be disappointed but is you play for the realism and fun you will not. There are glitches, boulders that float in the air, places you can get stuck in, and a few quest related bugs that sometimes crop up but they don't really affect the fun.

Hopeful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest this game looks promising and intriguing many die hard fans of the series will veiw the fact that Bathesda is making this game as a problem, mainly in that it may be an oblivion clone with guns, but I think that the new intuitive features that have been added (Assisted Targeting System) will help the game stay true to the series, and with the history of good games that company produces this has the potential to be the best game of the year, definitely pick this one up.

It's Just...okay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was okay. It wasn't cracked out to be what everyone made it. All the "Quests" were not all that challenging. Not to mention the large amount of caps you acquired and no good items to really spend them on. For me, this game was too easy to beat. I hate games like that. If I can sit down and beat a game in a day or two...then it is kind of disappointing. So in that aspect, it doesn't make it worth $59.99. Once you beat it there really isn't any reason to continue playing it. The max level needs to be raised and they need to add harder challenges to the game. But overall, the graphics were great. It really did make you feel like you were there.

Good RPG
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really good rpg game, don't expect the hardcore action like you would see in shooters but it will keep you entertained. The only flaw I see is it can get boring at times doing the samething over again.

too boring to finish
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After watching a lot of reviews and gameplay videos, I thought it would be a great addition the my game collection. It wasnt. It wasnt fun for a variety of reasons, one of them being the graphics. The world of fallout 3 is visually unpleasing to look at, mainly becouse everything is gray, brown and rusted. Nearly everything has a zigzag border and objects get blurred out and pop up at random. Theres no music so the only noise you hear is your footsteps and the rare sound of a gunshtot. If your new to the genera and used to action and plot twists like i am then you proberbly shoulnt get this rpg

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got this game today (spent about 5 hours so far) and I haven't had any freezes or glitches yet. The closest thing I had to that was one loading screen when going to a saloon took a little longer than normal but thats it. This game is awesome. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who likes rpgs or action games. The VATS system is amazing and so far I am having a really fun time playing it.

Fun and exciting.... at first
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was really fun to begin with, adding points to stats and following the story line, but after awhile it becomes boring with constant running, holding too much to run, so you have to walk.

Phenomenal Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I started playing this game, i couldn't stop. There is so much to explore, so much to find, and so much to accomplish. The game would freeze up from time to time, but I don't know if that was the game's fault or the PS3 from me playing it for hours on end. Once I beat the game I immediately started over to try another route. This game is a definite must have.

What A Terrible Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I shouldn't have to work at liking a game. It should consume me to the point of obsession. I wanted to like Fallout 3 and I certainly have tried, but I simply cannot get into this game. From the weird floaty walk to the gun that doesn't point where the um...crosshairs are? Just when you think the game is getting exciting you realize you can slow it down to a screeching halt with "VATS" a horrible stop motion aiming system, that I think is there as an apology from the designers for the regular point and shoot system. The fact that this is a GOTY game makes me sad for all gamers. It begs the question, "is this the best they can do?" I tried trading it in today but the guy at the store said you have to get to level 7 before it starts to get good. I'll push through this horrible waste of my time until I reach level 7. Maybe something magical will happen. I feel for those who paid full price for this game back in the day because the cool posters in the store windows lured them in, forcing them into a state of denial, screaming how addicted they are to it. I stand a better chance becoming addicted to dental floss than this game. So no, I will not be pre-ordering New Vegas.
