    Takes me back in time!

I remember this film from my much younger days. It was a fascinating bit of science fiction mixed with just the right amount of danger. The special effects may seem dated in an era of digital enhancements, but they knocked me out as a kid! Imagine a submarine, shrunk in size (but only for an hour), and inserted into the brain of a scientist important to both the Soviets and America. While there the crew of this miniature vehicle must repair his brain to keep him alive. Made me scared of my own corpuscles! I am a fan of great character actors. Don't miss the always reliable Donald Pleasance as a doctor who cracks under pressure. I think he cracked under pressure in movies better than most actors! Catch him in Escape From New York as President. Add this movie to your collection, you won't regret it.

    Dated Sci-Fi that Still Works!

Puzzled? OK, for its time this movie was quite amazing; the effects were wholly without precedent, and very imaginative. The story line is, again, wonderfully original. The acting might make you cringe, but it's kind of like watching a film by Ed Wood -- so bad it's actually good. I'm dating myself a bit, but I was fascinated with this movie when it first came out on VHS (I think I was too young to have seen it in a theater, but maybe I saw it on television), and I'm very glad to have it back in my collection. It's kind of like viewing the original Star Trek series after being immersed in the two J.J. Abrams films. Dated stuff, but still entertaining, and groundbreaking for its time. Make some popcorn and have fun! The extras provide some insight into the making of the film.

A Mid-60s Sci-Fi Classic Well Ahead Of Its Time!

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I had always enjoyed watching this film whenever it was aired on TV, inasmuch as it inspired a short-lived Filmation animated adventure series of the same name but with different characters. During the film's original run in the Mid-60s, it was largely misunderstood as its miniaturization premise was way too "fantastic" but its groundbreaking special effects were well ahead of its time. Years later, the concept of miniaturization was played to comic effect in hit family films like "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" and "Innerspace."

Before Innerspace (Dennis Quaid and Martin Short) we had Fantastic Voyage (James Brolin, Raquel Welch) introducing the story of people shrunk and transferred into the human body (in this case, to treat a brain injury). This movie won 2 Oscars and is still enjoyable to watch for the story and to see legendary actors in their prime ... then it would be fun to watch Innerspace as a comparison.

I think that "Fantastic Voyage" was one of the greatest classic sci-fi/action films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite sci-fi/action films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "Fantastic Voyage" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including an exciting and original storyline.

I have seen this movie several times - never enjoyed it as much as I have seeing it on Blu-ray. The picture quality is excellent as is the sound. Have always found the acting to be very good especially seeing actors in roles that I might not have expected when I saw the movie for the first time. I thought the best part of the extras was the commentary. The rest of the extras were just okay.

A world and a glimpse of what someday may be a reality. The time when this was made seems almost prophetic. With the possibilities of nanotechnology, it may very well come true. Before CGI, the effects and cinematography is amazing. Excellent story and a thrill for the classic sci-fi enthusiast.

This is a Classic old science fiction movie that really looks great in Blu-ray, and is way more intelligent and entertaining than I expected. I hadn’t seen it since it was new (and I was a kid), so it was great to watch and enjoy the suspense anew. The plot even has some James Bond-like stylish sixties sophistication.

You can’t go wrong with science fiction classic! I have had it on DVD for many years in my collection and when I saw it at Best Buy for such a great price I could resist to upgrade to Blu-ray. And they did a fantastic job updating to Hi Def on the blu-ray format. Pick it up today!

Not the greatest film but it has a great cast including a pre-Halloween Donald Pleasence and the always beautiful Raquel Welsh. I have been fascinated by the concept of this film and how it made the human body it's landscape. Check your brain at the door and enjoy the ride.

it's great to see all the simple practical sets and ship designs in Hi-def, a very innovative sci-fi concept, the narrative still holds up for me! I'm an old timer , my father took me to see this in the theater when I was a wee lad!

This is the way to see this great sci-fi movie...on Blu. The best it has ever looked and sounded. Even though a bit out of date, it does not diminish the fun and awe of the whole voyage. Can't imagine how great this would be with todays effects. Well worth the purchase.

This blu has great video and audio. For a film from 1966, it looks as though it could have been filmed today. Great sci-fi plot that takes place in a microscopic submarine within the human body. If you are a fan of sci-fi this needs to be in your collection!

A classic 60s sci-fi movie that looks excellent on blu-ray. This is one you can show to the whole family. Not too scary for kids, and interesting for adults. If you like movies like the original "Planet of the Apes", this is in the same style.

Stands the test of time... feels influenced by Kirby & Lee’s Fantastic Four at Marvel Comics... or maybe this influenced Kirby to go into the Microverse... adapted by Asimov’s for paperback.
