Everything about this game is better than Fry Cry 2. I hesitated getting Far Cry 3 due to the previous one, but anyone else in this situation can rest assured that this one is worth playing.

This is an adult game but the game play is addictive for the person mature enough to handle the violence. The story is less linear than the previous entrants in the series. I would recommend this to anyone now that the price has dropped.

This is my first Far Cry game. The camera movements somehow make me dizzy after awhile. Not sure what it is, but the last game I played that made me feel dizzy was Half-Life.

Like the game play, lots to explore and find. As games try to be more real, the language gets worse. It would be nice to be able to tone down the bad language. It is a mature game but would be a nice feature to be able to do that.

The story is solid, but the vast open world makes FarCry worth checking out, particularly at a discounted price. While not as diverse as a GTA, it has a unique world and is a fun first person shooter.

I shop at Best Buy because they have everything that I need. I visit the store once a week. I like everything they have. Like that they do price match.

This is a good and fun game to play. Keeps you interested and entertained. Also keeps you challenged.

Great game with a good storyline. The characters are very well made especially the villains.

The only problem with this game is that the character says "disgusting" when skinning an animal. Must be a PETA member.

Love this game. The art work is great and I enjoy the fact that you can just go pretty much anywhere you want.

Overall, a great game for not playing the others. The price that I purchased it for was great as well

Great sandbox game. Typically not a big sandbox gamer but great all around.

My first question is does this game use the Dead Island game engine? Because it sure seems that way, the framerates, character models, and graphics all look very similar. Of course there are no zombies in this game, nor are there any animals in Dead Island. But from the opening cutscene it just felt like the same game engine. And well, that's kind of a not so good thing because the framerates in Dead Island were just average at best (and in cutscenes they're just downright atrocious). The beginning of the game I have to say was the worst part of the game, but once you start leveling up your abilities and spend a couple of hours in the jungle, the healing from console port's shortcomings can begin to take place. Most of my satisfaction from performing the various kinds of stealth kills. The enemy AI is on par with the previous Far Cry games, albeit their eye sight is a lot worse in this outing. I can crouch-walk across the road only about a hundred feet directly in front of an enemy pirate without a drop of the caution meter building up. I know people were crying about enemies having too good vision in the last game, but come on...at least when enemies are alerted, their vision goes from being 'legally blind' back to 20/20 again. The game play itself is a mixed bag of familiar but still awesome weapons to use combined with a completely hokey checkpoint/save system. Ammo is a significant expense in this game, and while the bow is definitely the coolest (and cheapest) weapon to use most of the time, there are times when you get crank up the firepower with the rocket/grenade launchers and c4 explosives to do some real damage. Then there's checkpoint/save system...wow, all I can say is that thank god it doesn't randomly not-save my data (like in Dead Island). There's still some fundamentally flawed aspects of it, like the fact that it doesn't save in between checkpoints if you turn off your machine in the middle of doing a mission. And missions can take a while, up to 30-45 minutes per mission. So why wouldn't you want to let us turn off the machine at a checkpoint within the mission and come back to it later? All that crazy business aside, the story is the real shining star. It's a well done, coming of age themed adventurer's tale with enough 'Bazinga' moments in it to warrant me giving as high of a score as I did. Almost every NPC you interact with has a personality that's memorable going beyond the skin deep personalities found in a lot of other open world games like Skyrim. The island is a beautiful and full of atmosphere like Just Cause (minus the snow), and stays true to the entire Far Cry theme. In the end, Far Cry 3 has the personality of a lot of the biggest games released this past couple of years while offering a storyline that goes above and beyond the call of duty. Be warned though: Framerates are at times horrible, and the checkpoint/save system is pitiful at best. 4/5 stars
