Like GTA this is an open world where you can hunt, fish, find, and conquer by land, air, and sea! Can’t ask for anything more than that! Great story as well!!!

This game has a lot going on. It's a pretty big map (not huge). You can beat this game quickly or do all the side quests first. There's fishing and hunting you can do for some extra cash. There's some crazy difficult stunt challenges. My favorite thing to do in this game is to capture and secure outposts. Each side quest is totally different, so they mix it up pretty good. Spoiler Alert, the ending stinks.

At first I had doubts on this game, I love the franchise, but this one blew me away! The graphics are amazing, the story telling, the action and open world makes this so addicting. Can't wait to see what's in store next for the series!

I've played Far Cry 2, 3 and 4 before this one, but Far Cry 5 is in my top 2. Anyone that has played a previous Far Cry game will notice the similarities in this one, but Far Cry 5 is a lot of fun. The map is pretty massive and you can do any story or side mission in any order you want. I love that they introduced airplanes and helicopters into this. Plus, the story is quite interesting. Also, you might find yourself just looking around at the scenery because the graphics are amazing and my Xbox doesn't even output 4K.

This is the first far cry game that I have played. I saw a review for it and decided that I wanted to try it out.
I have completed most of the game by now and I have enjoyed most of it. The combat is easy and familiar, as is the progression. I like how your character gains skills and abilities when you get experience.
The story is mostly good. I didn’t like how you are forced into certain parts of the story through “bliss bullets.” I understand the need to move forward with the story, but this takes you out of the action and forces you to do something.
I enjoyed the many activities in this game including, fishing, hunting, wing suit flying, and parachuting. I also liked the many vehicles you can use. I would like to see more details in the vehicles, but they were sufficient. One example is the cars would never stop accelerating at least in the audio (engine and shifting noises.) The cars would have a max speed though and the sound made it comical.
Multiplayer in this game is a lot of fun. I could have had friends come into my game to help or I could go into someone’s game. There’s also arcade mode with user and Ubisoft created levels.

This game is very good with just a few minor complaints. The world you explore is completely open. There are many types of weapons, vehicles, explosive devices and so on. There is the option to use two "guns for hire" to help with the battles. I recommend this even on the easy level. It is a very long game with many places to explore. The graphics and audio are great and the play is smooth. I have had no lock ups or other problems. It is a bit slow to load sometimes but the time is generally acceptable. My only complaints are the many cut scenes and the fact that you have to buy, with real cash, "silver bars" to purchase weapons and other equipment unless you want to wait until you acquire enough play money to buy new items. And many of the guns are virtually the same in performance just different skins. I have only played the single player game so I can't speak the multiplayer option. Overall it is a great game with many options and many hours of play.

So far having put about 6+ hrs into the campaign missions and free roam gameplay, I am impressed. The Montana backdrop and atmosphere are great. Nothing drastically different gameplay wise from Far Cry 4, but still tons of fun to play. Now for a few like and dislikes. Let's do dislikes first. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed with the enemy character variations. Last count, I noticed maybe 5-6 different cult follower enemy models. Not a huge deal, but it sometimes gets a little confusing when you take down one of these enemies and then another (clone) pops up looking identical to the one you just took down. Just thought at this stage in this franchise, there could have been more variety. Although I am still early on in the campaign, so that could change. I am also not a huge fan of how good the enemy AI is at figuring out your position. Many times during a gun fight, even in excellent cover and not shooting back to give away my position, the enemy AI somehow seems to know exactly where I am hiding. It does amp up the difficulty, but makes it seem a little unrealistic. Ok enough dislikes. Now for my likes. Gun play seems very responsive and the weapon variety is nice. Vehicles handle realistically. Helicopters and planes are a blast to fly and the sound effects are spot on. Graphically, the terrain and texture details are awesome! I am playing on a Plasma at 1080p and it looks amazing, so I can only imagine how great a 4K display would look. The game plays in typical Far Cry fashion. Accept a mission and complete it and you start unlocking more of your map and earn skill points to level up your character. If you are looking for some ground breaking improvements over the past 2 Far Cry games, other than improved graphics, the game plays pretty much the same. This is not a bad thing at all, but for some fans of the series, they may have been hoping for more. There is a lot to like here and if you are on the fence of buying or not buying, just know this. If you liked Far Cry 4, you will like Far Cry 5. It's nothing mind blowing, but that's ok. You will still have a ton of fun with something new to find around every corner. Buy it!!

This is a great open wold game, lots of fun and a good amount of things to do. The weapons are almost the same as Far cry 4 with subtle differenceso and paint. The fighting can get a little repetitive but overall not bad.

If you've played any far cry previously you know kinda what you are getting into, except this one is cranked to 11. Best story, best graphics, biggest open world. In any other year this might have been game of the year.

I've been a Far Cry fan since Far Cry 2, which came out almost 10 years ago. Far Cry has come along ways in those 10 years, but they have also gone backwards in a few aspects. Regardless, Far Cry 5 is a solid installation to the series and has one of the better stories that I can remember.
The visuals on this game really showcase what the Xbox One X is capable of. The game looks phenomenal in native 4K and HDR and is definitely the best looking game I've played to date. Ubisoft has been killing it the last few years with their releases, and Far Cry 5 is no different.

This is a fun game. I've played a majority of the FarCry series and I really enjoyed this one. The campaign seemed interesting albeit a little repetitive in some missions. The map feels huge and always feels like there's something to do. The game has a few bugs but they didn't interfere with my experience. The voice actors seem good and really help the story feel more complete. The side quests feel relevant to the story and help you understand more about the story. It's a great addition to the series and brought back some fun memories.

Great game! If you have never played the Far Cry series, you are missing out but you don't need to play them to enjoy this one thoroughly. Different story from their usual jungle themed games but great play as always. I am still in the beginning stages of the game (because there is always so much to do) but it keeps my upmost attention just like the rest. Ubisoft does a great job with this series, a ton of content and no repetitive boring stuff either. I would recommend this game and all of the other Far Cry games to everybody.

Good to see the Far Cry folks bring it back home; the Montana scenario is beautiful and--for the most part--accurate. Beautiful scenery; well constructed chapters. As usual with Far Cry, there is a steep learning curve from the beginning, but better story telling this time around. Lots of fun killing home grown terrorists; the NPCs are uniformly interesting. It gets an bit crazy/unreal towards the end, and the resolution of the final chapter will stun. Another quality product.

This game is awesome. Very interesting story line and very good gameplay. Has a few little bugs with some of the missions but nothing so bad that it detracts from the overall playability of the game. Huge open world map, a decent amount of different weapons and customizations for them. Plus having a dog (or bear or mountain lion, etc) as a companion is pretty cool. Definitely worth a play through or two!
