I bought this red light therapy wrap while doing physical therapy for rotator cuff tendinitis. My PT recommended using heat, and after reading more about red and near-infrared light therapy, I decided to incorporate this into my routine alongside my PT exercises. I’ve been using it daily for 20 minutes on the high setting, directly on bare skin. It gives off a really pleasant warmth that feels great on my shoulder and upper back. I especially like how large the wrap is as it covers a substantial area of my shoulders and back rather than just targeting one small spot. It also includes lights all the way up to the neck which is an area I experience stiffness in. I’m also encouraged by the research behind red light therapy and particularly the 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared wavelengths in this device. The near-infrared light is able to penetrate more deeply, which is why I’m interested in it for my muscles and tendons, while red light has also been studied for its potential benefits for skin and collagen (a girl could use the boost lol). I’m currently using it as a complement to physical therapy rather than a replacement for it, but I definitely plan to continue using it after my PT sessions are finished. And as a bonus, I’m excited to see whether consistent use leads to any improvements in the appearance and texture of the skin on my neck, shoulders, and back over time! The lights are on the back of the wrap but I do a session flipping it over to the front so I can get the skin benefits on the front of my neck and chest. So far, I’m really happy with the purchase and actually look forward to my 20-minute session every day. Bonus points for auto shutting off so I know when my session is over!
