This is a good buy for the dollar amount. it gives you everything that you need to start playing, and we used it for guitar hero. A lot of fun, good craftsmanship, and I would buy one for a friend.

Good beginner electric guitar . Whammy bar was not threaded correctly and it broke off after about 3 days of use.

i really like this guitar for the price . i would highly recommend it for someone in the learning stage such as myself. i plan to buy a more costly one when i learn a little better.

I've been wanting to learn to play for a long time, but pricing was always an issue. $200 was an excellent price for everything that's included and its great for beginners.

Why is the amp not working? This was mentioned by another review, obviously it is a problem that should be addressed by Best Buys.

I am absolutely amazed at what I received versus what I paid for this package. I have been playing; building and restoring; and buying/selling guitars for over thirty years and this is the best deal I have ever seen on a quality guitar, not to mention the whole package. The guitar is flawless, it's well built out of quality materials and has many of the features you'd find on much more expensive guitars, for example: tortoise three-ply pick-guard; top of the line electronics and pickups; very nice maple/rosewood neck w/low action and excellent machine heads; exceptional finish on the body; it plays and sounds extremely well; comes with decent Fender strings and is just outright gorgeous! I had to do some minor adjustments on the string height and tuned her up, that was it...the package even comes with written instructions, DVD instructions, Allen wrenches and a tuner w/battery so you can do it yourself. My first guitar over thirty years ago cost more than this did and it wasn't as nice (and didn't include an amp and all the other stuff in this package). This is without a doubt, the best deal on a guitar/amp package I have ever seen out there and nobody's paying me to say this...it's all me and all accurate.

I have to say if you are interested in a quality starting guitar and amp combo, this is a great guitar for you. The amp has all of your basic needs, this is not an amp to play shows with obviously. Again this is a starter set and it is one of the best quality products on the market for just starting out. The only caution I give is when you start in on learning how to bend the strings, the stock string that come with the guitar will not take very much, I recommend you get a new set if you want to do anything more advanced than chord progressions. Overall great quality at a reasonable price.

First I don't own this guitar, my Son-In-Law does, but it's now in my possession for some much needed TLC, maintenance, i.e.: new strings & setup. It's the 4th Strat I now have -- I'm a 'Fender Guy' when it comes to guitars and I've now had this one here with me since Thanksgiving when I saw it needed some immediate 'care' (cleaning). The first thing I noticed and impressed me was how the Tremolo (Whammy) was set at the factory, it was 'Floating', 1/8" up from the body just like the Made In America Fender Strats are, and unlike the Trem on my $380 dollar Squire Classic Vibe '50's Strat where the Trem was set flat to the body (my 2 Fender Strats have Flyod Rose Trems). So that's a plus right there for 'Whammy Bar' usage in bending up, and saving money and time to take it to a tech. The other and most important PLUS for this guitar IMHO was/are the Frets. They are dressed perfectly -- NO sharp fret ends on any fret ends along the fretboard.. (nothing is more irritable than sliding up/dn the FB and coming across a sharp fret edge. That's another trip (& money) saved to a Tech for them to file them ' 'Dress' - down smooth. The neck itself is comfortable to play too, no problems sliding, and has the 'typical' Fender 'Modern C' profile and the 9.5" Fretboard Radius. The single coil pickups are more than okay for what you're paying, and you've got the typical 5 Way Switch (I mostly like positions 2 & 4 when playing) and I've seen & had worse Tone pots than what's on this Strat. I can't comment on the Amp, but a 10 Watt 'Practice Amp' is a 10 Watt 'Practice Amp' -- all pretty much the same and we all start out with them. Another plus is the Gig Bag that comes with the package. It's pretty darn good and better than some of my old guitar 'cardboard' cases ;-) So if I was starting out again (I started lessons in 1963) and money was an issue this package would be perfect. Ditto if I was going to buy as a gift for someone starting out, wanting to, play guitar.
