In 4K. Makes it worth it just for that.

I always did love this movie. It's never looked better. The Steel Book artwork on the front and back make it worth it all its own. The film in 4K will naturally show off the graininess of the 35mm filmstock but the movie really pops in that format. The sound is also quite good, or it just might be because the late James Horner's soundtrack is so haunting a piece.

Always wanted to own this , and when I saw it was being released on 4K and the SteelBook, I figured it was about time. The 4K looks great and they did a wonderful job on the transfer. This never looked better!

I am a movie buff, and I have a library of movies beginning with VHF tapes and DVDS.This particular movie is one of my many favorites, so naturally I had to purchase it on BLUE RAY to replace the VHF one (I didn’t get rid of the older version).

This movie is for everyone who has a dream, but worries too much on the world around them to take a chance on it. Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones star in this family film which will leave you cheering them from their introduction to the end credits. I remember how as a kid when I first watched this movie I was gripping to every scene and I wanted more and it still has that effect on me today so much so that my family and I did go to the actual Field of Dreams in Iowa to play some baseball. I will say that when I purchase my 4k movies, a movie like Field of Dreams is not ususally on the top of my list but it was pleasantly a surprise oh well it transferred. Also BEST BUY did a really good steelbook edition that would look great on any shelf.

Great film. The steelbook has some of the best art design of any I have seen to date. Love the artwork. Only downside to the disc is they didn't put on any new extras. One would think for a 30th anniversary, they would have something new to add. Great movie that never looked or sounded better in 4K. Recommended to buy, If you haven't seen the movie, Field of Dreams is a classic. The type of movie that Hollywood no longer makes. If Frank Capra was alive, he would have made Field of Dreams. Should have received a Best Picture Oscar.

I hadn't seen Field of Dreams in very many years and the new 4k UHD bluray gave me a great excuse to get around to watching it again. Although I found the 4K image to be plagued by a high degree of film grain (par for the course with many movies made in it's era, I guess), the color, brightness, texture were all quite good. And the movie was as wonderful and moving as I remembered it. Time has not diminished it's power to touch people. I watched it with a few friends (one of which had, amazingly, never seen it before!) and we all loved it. This film, along with Dances with Wolves, are without a doubt Kevin Costner's two very finest films in my book. Nobody in the room was without a case of watery while eyes watching the incredibly beautiful and emotionally moving ending to this film. I've seen movies that make people cry from grief and sadness, but this is one of the rare few examples of cinema that make people cry from a happy feeling that life is beautiful beyond compare. If you want to see a movie that makes you feel for a time that all is very right with the world, I couldn't recommend a better example than the classic Field of Dreams.

I still remember this uplifting story , not only about America baseball, but about the strength of the human spirit standing firmly up against all odds, while stay tied to a dream that eventually becomes reality. Yes, it's an adult fairy tale, but told with passion, heart and emotion that will bring tears to the eye and warmth to the heart. One of cinema's masterpieces...a memorable dramas of the human spirit that has been restored to its original pristine beauty and belongs in every home film library.

This classic movie has never looked or sounded so good.
A magical gem of a movie with a beautiful musical score all the way through. Chances are you have seen the movie but are wondering if its worth the 4K purchase. I didn't buy the blu ray so can't comment or if its worth that upgrade but i can say in 4k the picture quality for a movie from the 80's is unbelievable! I was more impressed by this than many 4K releases from movies that came out in the 2000's

In the pantheon of baseball movies, Field of Dreams has to be up there with the best of them. This cemented Costner’s status as an A-lister of the late 80’s and beyond. This new 4K version and steelbook keeps all of the supplements from the Blu-ray while giving us a robust DTS X track and improved visuals. It should be on every movie/baseball-lover’s shelf.
The steelbook also gets an A for artwork and graphics*

Do you either love it or not? Don't ask why, look at the statement the movie is trying to make about that burning question: What is life? Anyway, I love the movie and the 4K upgrade makes it that much better. The Steelbook complements everything by storing everything in a beautiful purple-shade case (no floating heads here). Extras are a bit slim but the main supplement is very entertaining. Highly recommended!

The 4k was an upgrade over the blu-ray, but the dtsx soundtrack was the best part of the upgrade. Sounds flowed seamlessly through the soundstage especially out in the cornfield, and the voice saying if you build it he will come , really catches your attention during the movie as well as the sounds of game. Definitely the best version of this movie available both for video and audio.

One of the best sports genre films of our time. It reaches into some sports history with baseball greats from the 20’s and 30’s. I didn’t want it to end.

I appreciate when companies take the time to improve on their 4K catalog releases over the previous Blu-ray editions. Field of Dreams is definitely one of them. The picture is a great improvement over the Blu-ray. The audio is also but it's not one that you'll be using to show off your system but it keeps you in the movie.

Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his corn field tell him, "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue, Ray seeks out a reclusive author to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field.
This is one of Cosner's best work to date after No Way Out (1987) and features James Earl Jones as the man with the answers.

Field of Dreams is stone cold classic at this point, both in the sense of baseball/sports films, and fantasy dramas to boot. Costner has never been as approachable and the story continues to touch. The steelbook art is great, the 4K HDR remaster looks truly filmic and organic and the new sound mix sounds great.
