    The participation of the VMI cadets in the Battle of New Market is an excellent story and I can't help but feel that the filmmakers squandered the opportunity to tell it. The characters feel thin, barely drawn at all. The battle scenes are decent...but I had hoped for more from David Arquette than wild-eyed shouting. Unfortunately, that's all I got from his performance. I've seen him be very, very good in other movies, so I'm not sure if it was a choice me made or direction he was given...but it didn't serve the movie, his character, or the story very well. Really wanted to like this movie. Was disappointed when I didn't.
