Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is everything a modern reimagining should be—bold, beautiful, reverent, and willing to take risks. Building on the foundation of Remake, Rebirth expands the world of FFVII into a sweeping, open adventure that feels both familiar and completely new. It’s one of the most impressive JRPG experiences on PlayStation 5. Visually, the game is breathtaking. Environments that were once simple pre-rendered backgrounds are now sprawling, vibrant regions full of life. From the grasslands outside Midgar to the tranquil reaches of Cosmo Canyon, every location feels like a true pilgrimage for longtime fans. The PS5’s horsepower is put to excellent use with expansive landscapes, detailed character animations, and cinematic cutscenes that hit with emotional force. The combat system reaches its best form yet—fast, tactical, and gorgeously animated. The hybrid action-ATB style is refined to near perfection, rewarding smart ability usage and teamwork between characters. Synergy attacks in particular add a thrilling layer of strategy and spectacle. What really makes Rebirth shine is the writing and character work. The party feels more alive than ever, with expanded dialogue, playful interactions, and emotional depth that enriches relationships fans have loved for decades. The story respects the original while confidently charting its own course, delivering shocking twists, heartfelt moments, and an ending that will have players talking for years. Side quests, mini-games, exploration, and worldbuilding all exceed expectations. It feels like a full JRPG in a way few modern titles do—packed with content but thoughtfully crafted, never bloated. This is not just a remake. It’s a love letter to Final Fantasy VII, a celebration of its legacy, and a bold reimagining built for fans old and new. Whether you’re returning to the world of Gaia or stepping into it for the first time, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an unforgettable journey. A must-play and one of the standout RPGs of this generation.

It's the second of the remake trilogy for one of if not the most memorable final fantasy game. There's a bunch of love and effort put into the game and you can tell through the carefully crafted world, characters, gameplay, and slightly altered story. While it makes a few questionable choices for the remake trilogy, it's still a great game with a bunch of entertainment inside.

I've played the original 7 and the Remake that came before this title and as much nostalgia the original gives me, this title feels like it's an even better version of that. It expands the story, provides more context, and adds things that just wasn't there in the original while providing a lot of different ways to play the game. The game options allow different styles of play from the hardcore RPG enthusiast to the casual players that can just play to enjoy the storyline. There are so many multiple subquests that just add hours and hours of additional but optional content to the game. The mini games like Queen's Blood is good enough to stand on its own and I can see it as a mobile port. I wish I had picked this up sooner but I'm glad I did.

Square-Enix brings yet another stellar 7 remake. This time around, the game has a more open series of fields that provide lots of side quests, unlocks and activities, while furthering the FF7 story and providing subtle twists to allow the experience to feel fresh for longtime fans of the classic. The music is another boon, as new and classic tunes will be stuck in your head long after you put the controller down. Additionally, a new Synergy mechanic allows you to learn more attacks with members of your party that will also boost your friendship level with them. If you are a fan of FF, Japanese games, or are just looking for a fun action and RPG hybrid fantasy, give the game a try!

I will start by saying I did not play FF7 back on the PS1 since I never owned one. I ended up playing FF7 on steam and fairly enjoyed it even with its old graphics. I bought FF7Remake when that eventually came out to Steam and really enjoyed it and was super excited for the sequel to see what will change from the original with this trilogy remake. FF7Rebirth continues from FF7Remake ending to tell the second part of the 3 game trilogy's story and does this game have such great start. The game kicks off with an awesome intro then leads to the game introducing you to the open world after the intro. This game is super gorgeous and you can tell Square is definitely putting in so much love for this game. The open world of the game is pretty fun to explore with at times can seem a bit empty but there is quite a bit of things to do around the world so the game doesn't just seem like a game that wants you to go from point A to point B. The combat is the same as Remake but with a lot more mechanics added on top of it. You can have unique attacks depending on the which characters you are using in your party so the combat can have variety. The soundtrack is fantastic. They went super hard with the soundtrack on remaking songs from original FF7 and reusing some that were remade in Remake to then remixing those versions to have a metal sounding rendition of the track. They really put so much love in the soundtrack. The characters are easily the best part of this game. The banter between the party makes them feel alive. They knocked it out of the park with every main character. I don't think this game will make everyone a Final Fantasy fan but it will definitely make you a Final Fantasy 7 fan. I had only played FF7 and FF15 which made me not really be excited for another FF game since I didn't really enjoy a lot of things from 15. Playing FF7Remake showed me that Square can make a great game if they really put their heart and soul into it and both FF7R parts clearly show it.

I have been waiting for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for years and I actually just beat it and loved it so much. The story follows the party and their quest to stop sephiroth and unlike the first one, FF7:Remake, this one isn't just one city. You explore multiple cities and even different continents. The amount of detail they've poured into this portion from the original Final fantasy 7 blew my mind. Seeing old characters, towns, and enemies reimagined in big way hits hard in my nostalgia and on top of that the music is on another level compared to anything else of this size. The shining star along side the music is the overall tone of the dialogue between party members. There are small one off interactions that really humanize these people and make them feel more than just one dimensional characters. A big downside i think the developers can work on for the finale is try to rethink how to do open world activities or trim down how much you do. In the open areas of this game there are so many minor tasks that are repeated in other open areas and they don't feel needed and just in the game to pad it out hour wise. The rewards are good like interesting lore and new items only available through these tasks. The way i will recommend friends to play this is to only do the major side quests and focus on the story because it's a great story but theres a lot of bloat that could turn off many people if they aren't as invested.

    Good Game but...

Alright, So starting off -0.5 star for the steel book missing from my order. Sorry BB this cost this half star for the review, but what was promised was not delivered. -2.5 stars Game itself. As a person who loves the entire Final Fantasy series, FF7 has always had a special place in my heart. Now how I want to tackle the review is a Good/Bad/Ugly format. Let's start from worst to best. Ugly: Dev- "So hey we added this card game "queen's blood" because we heard you like card mini games like FF8's triple triad." Player- "Yeah I love having the option to play a game of triple triad every now and again" Dev- " "the option to play?" .... right because we heard "Make it tied to main scenario advancement. That right, Queen's blood mini game is tied to advancing the story in the game, as is several other mini games. Bad: There is a very high amount of bloat in the game in my opinion thus far, between hunting down lifespring scan areas, enhanced enemy fights, activating towers, and the 10 other repeating time wasting fillers to do on the area map. Granted a lot of this is optional but some are required to finish a town quest. Good: The game is oh so good looking, the controls are as expected, the story vs the original release is very well done. This game really is an exemplar example of what Final Fantasy should be. Gold Saucer is so very pretty, the mini games are well designed and fun in the area. It brings back memories and also leaves me hanging on what is going happen next. Costas del Sol is absolutely beautiful. Don't get me wrong I do love FF7 rebirth, my main gripes is just mini game after mini game, some story then repeating the cycle over and over. My Advice: If you are fellow lover of the Final Fantasy series, you will not be disappointed, just brace for the bloat, and if you are a completionist.... Oh boy..

I've only scraped the surface on this game, but I'm amazed at the scale of this game. An epic story, polished gameplay mechanics, so many mini games and things to do. Its great seeing so many more interactions once again from the characters compared to the original PS1 game. I won't be surprised if i end up with 100+ hours in my first playthrough.

Some of my gripes with Remake was the overly linear nature, poor side quests, and the battle system needed more depth. All have been addressed and then some here. This is a true masterpiece and a must play for any RPG fan. The sheer amount of high quality content also more than justifies the $70 price.

Honestly my game of the year! The Story is great, graphically it’s beautiful one of the only games to make me use the Ps5 share feature, the music is the best in the industry! The gameplay is amazing and smooth with lots of content to do that is diverse enough to feel fresh and not a slog 10/10!

What can I say, its a great game. But not perfect. I enjoy the story and combat. The pacing is good too. I just hate foced mini games to advance the story. And it happens a bit to often, for my liking. But that could just be me. Im having fun so im glad i spent the cash.

Been looking forward to this game. Lots of fun was had. The combat was fun the story was entertaining. Some areas were a bit of a maze to navigate and some mini games varied in how fun they were. Thankfully, most of those are tied to optional content. Favorite of the bunch was Queen's Gambit. Overall, would recommend

Man… this game is exactly why I still love single-player games. If you played Remake, this takes everything and just levels it up. The world is way bigger, there’s a ton to do, and it actually feels like you’re going on a full journey instead of being stuck in one area. I kept telling myself “just one more quest” and suddenly it’s 2AM. That said, not gonna lie, there is a lot of side content. Sometimes it feels like too much, but if you’re the type that likes exploring and grinding, you’ll love it. If not, you can just focus on the main story and still have a great time.

    Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a solid follow-up to FF7 Remake, but it doesn’t quite live up to its predecessor. While the game keeps the stunning visuals and fast-paced combat, one of its major issues is the excessive side quests that feel like a waste of time and slow down the pace. Chadley, who had a small role in FF7 Remake, now plays a much larger part, appearing in every city you visit. His constant quests and relentless chatter can become incredibly annoying, often detracting from the experience. On the plus side, the game does a great job blending old-school elements from the original PS1 version, which longtime fans will appreciate. Overall, it’s recommended for FF7 fans, but be prepared for some frustrating moments.

After playing FF7 Remake and realizing it was overall a very well curated linear experience, FF7 Rebirth is a complwtely different beast. They have taken those excellent linear experiences in Remake and greatly expanded on them with a new open world format. You can tell Square Enix really put a ton of effort into this game and ghere was really no reason for them to go as hard s they did. This game hits above its weight and all of my expectations. If you enjoyed Remake ans want to continue the story in Rebirth, this game will not dissapoint! I am about 104 hours in and thwre is still plenty of content to go.

The game is cinematic and full of features. But the overwhelming amount of minigames and choppy world movement took me out of the experience at times. If you’re a fan of the original FF7, it’s a must have. I would not recommend for fans unfamiliar with the series, story, or characters.
