    "Suck it, bipeds!"

Directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E) and Angus McLane (Burn-E) from a screenplay by Stanton and Victoria Strouse (October Road), Finding Dory is a rarity among sequels - it's at least as good as its predecessor and it tells a story that's actually worth making a feature-length movie to tell it. It's sweetly sentimental and yet amazingly well written, a story where every detail has been thought through and serves a purpose in the telling of the story. Finding Dory begins what seems like a short time after the end of Finding Nemo. Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), the regal tang who suffers from short-term memory loss, now lives in the same aquatic community as clownfish Marlin (Albert Brooks) and his young son Nemo (this time voiced by Hayden Rolence). While helping (or at least trying to) Nemo's fish-school class, Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family, from whom she apparently became separated from when she was very, very young, younger even than Nemo. Realizing this, Dory becomes determined to find them, even though all she has to go on are a handful of hazy memories that she can barely hang on to. Concerned about her inability to remember things, Marlin and Nemo accompany Dory to make sure nothing happens to her. There is, of course, trouble along the way, but as in any Disney film, she ends up getting a lot of unexpected help from a variety of sources that most notably include a cantankerous octopus named Hank (Ed O'Neill) who's missing a tentacle, a near-sighted whale shark named Destiny (Kaitlin Olson) and an insecure beluga whale named Bailey (Ty Burrell) who's lost the ability to echo-locate. As you can probably guess, dealing with disabilities is a recurring theme in Finding Dory, reminding us in a number of subtle ways that just because someone can't do everything doesn't mean that they can't do anything. What particularly impressed me after the movie was done was how well written it was. Nothing is wasted and every detail that's introduced ends up mattering in some way, whether it's a current trait of Dory's that we discover ends up having roots in her past or something learned in an earlier scene ends up being used as the film hurtles towards its climax. It's all so neatly tied together and flows so seamlessly that you can tell that the writers put an enormous amount of time and care into the screen play to get everything just right. Another thing that came to me after the film was over was that the title - Finding Dory - is not what people initially think. It's not about Marlin and Nemo trying to find Dory this time around. It's about Dory trying to find herself - her family, her past, and all of the little things she's forgotten but which nonetheless shaped her into who and what she is. Highly, highly recommended for anyone who likes dazzling animation combined with memorable characters in an extremely well-written story.

The Finding Dory Steelbook features a simple art design focusing on the octopus but the disks feature Dory on the cover art. As with all Pixar Steelbooks released recently you get a 4K copy, Blu-Ray Copy and Blu-Ray bonus disk as well as a digital copy. The 4K picture quality is excellent with a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless soundtrack. There are a ton of extras included with a very cool 1080-P living aquarium you can run to mimic a real life fish tank. You get four themed digitally animated "fish tanks.

I really enjoyed "Finding Dory" and am glad I waited until I found this SteelBook! Not only does it come in a great format (both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray for when not near a 4K TV), but the SteelBook itself is gorgeous and a nice addition and collectable with the movie. That's the way I see physical movies...they can be collectables too, and this is one that I'll certainly enjoy with my family. Would recommend!

Finding Dory is a sequel done well in my opinion. It takes what was done well in the original and adds to it. This time instead of Nemo needing to be found it's Dory in search of her family. The new characters like Hank the octopus are great. The movie looks and sounds great in 4K (upscaled 2K), with HDR and available Dolby Vision if you watch from the streaming code included. The audio is also great featuring a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.

My family loves Pixar movies. Some are better than others, but this is really well done, especially for a Pre/Sequel. This is the complete package - even 3-D. It also comes in Blu-Ray without the 3-D for less. Also of course DVD only version for less still. So I include this so you don't accidentally overbuy. Of course, movies likes/dislikes are subjective, but I will add that I think you'll like it if you liked Finding Nemo. Many times, sequels don't measure-up, but I think this one does. The actual disk(s) played without incident in our Blu-Ray player & the 3-D effects were cool.

I'm not overly fond of sequels and have to note Monster University as one that really didn't hold up to the Pixar standard of excellence but as with the Toy Story additions Finding Dory does. It doesn't quite have as much fresh humor but through interesting characters such as the octopus (a Pixar note that this was the hardest character in the company's history to pull off and they did it well) and the action driven events, this is a hit and it even manages to tug the heart strings a bit too. It was truly enjoyable overall and worth having in my collection.

Heart-warming, funny, witty, and found again. Dory and Nemo do it again! You can't help it wanting to be under the sea when you immerse yourself in the world beneath the waters that Finding Dory so beautifully portrays. The wonder and the magic of it all are still present, but more than anything else the sense of solidarity that all the creatures show (which makes you want to be one of them) is what transpires the most from the film. Nemo and Dory, steal your heart again, and though nobody is perfect, love, family, and friendship conquer all.

Full disclosure: I geeked out over Finding Nemo when it came out, so I was totally excited when Finding Dory was announced. Saw it in the theater, and I was not disappointed! This movie does a great job of including references for fans of the first movie, while still standing on its own as a great story. Humor, emotion, science references, nostalgia - this movie has it all! I would highly recommend to adults and kids alike. Also, shoutout to the short Piper - visually stunning and absolutely heartwarming. Another Pixar winner!

Took the studio long enough to get around to developing an appropriate sequel to one of my favorite animated movies (and extensive lobbying from the main character herself, Ellen DeGeneres (Dory). Most sequels fall short of their predecessor, but like Toy Story, this film is just as good as the original (in case of Toy Story, number 3 is hands down the best!). Now, just awaiting the sequel to The Invincibles. Buy this movie to enjoy with your loved ones and kids (if you have them, even the big kids in us!)

What else can you say about Pixar that hasn't already been said? The movie is great, the fact that it came with a digital copy was excellent as well. I was easily able to put it on my daughter's iPad and now she can watch it 11 billion times without putting my wife and I through that torture. Ha! Not that the movie isn't great, but no movie should be watched as many times as my kids watch them. It is an excellent movie to watch with your kids maybe once or twice. After that, leave them on their own.

This is my favorite type of steelbook, it has a stationary spine and it has nice artwork. Love that Disney is quickly releasing so many of their Pixar, Disney Feature Animation and Marvel movies in 4K. This comes with the 4K disc as well has a regular bluray disc and a digital code that redeems for a 4K version of the movie on VUDU or Fandango Now. Very happy with this release

Call me crazy, but I actually loved Finding Dory more than the original. While it may repeat some of the same beats from the first movie, everything about this film is just so well-executed that I can't help but marvel at it. With the stunningly beautiful animation, entertaining new characters, plenty of hilarious scenes and some incredibly emotional moments, I really feel that this is one of Pixar's best movies.

I am twenty one years I was about ten or eleven years old when I saw Finding Nemo for the first time. finding nemo instantly became one of my favorite movies and I couldn't wait for a sequel. I love Finding Dory as well just like my little cousin enjoyed when I let them watch it. I love the fact it included character with disabilities may be this will teach little kids to befriend kids with disabilities. It will also teach kids how to work together and to overcome adversity.

FINALLY....the movie we have been waiting for years to see and it wasn't a disappointment...a worthy and fun filled follow up to the first movie: Finding Nemo! If you don't have this movie....RUN OUT AND GET IT NOW...if you can watch "BOTH" movies in 3D even better. The return of some familiar characters and the introduction to some new ones. This movie doesn't need a review...just buy it and sit back and enjoy. A fun ride for the entire family, just kids or even just adults.

Even though it was made more than a decade after the original, Finding Dory is a worthy sequel to Finding Nemo. Seeking answers as to where she came from, Dory ends up at an aquarium (with Marlin and Nemo tagging along), where flashes of memory finally lead her home and to her family. Love the new/old friends Dory meets, and that truck ride is hilarious. Only thing I don't understand is why the dentist's fish haven't suffocated in those bags or else broken out somehow.

Another classic Disney/Pixar animated feature that will warm your heart and make you laugh at the same time. This isn't really a sequel, although it touches bases with the past, and Dory isn't really lost, but she has lost something that is very precious and in her own way finds herself as well as her lost memories with the help of some old and new friends. The color changing, environment mimicking Hank is the anchor to this ensemble of characters. Great fun for all!!

As already stated, it was very nice to see that a 3D release of this film was offered initially alongside its 2D counterpart. While the 3D is fairly good, since most of the film takes place in water, there isn't much room to notice a whole lot of depth in the picture. In terms of the story, this film continues the tradition that Pixar has of great story-telling, even for a sequel. It's a fun film for both children and adults to enjoy.

We don't purchase many Blu-ray's these days; however when we do they MUST include a digital copy otherwise we will NOT purchase it. And when I mention digital copy I specifically mean via iTunes. This movie shows great on our projector in the media room and more importantly it download quick, easy, and free via iTunes. The children watch this often. We would recommend this but only when it's on sale (that's true for any Blu-ray in our opinion).

If you have the steelbook for Finding Nemo (and you are a collector), it is hard to pass up this steelbook for the sequel Finding Dory. Just like the steelbook for Finding Nemo, this steelbook has a debossed title. As for the movie itself, I did not enjoy Finding Dory as much as Finding Nemo, but I do think that Finding Dory is a good movie. 8/10 :)
