Customers often highlight the high-quality art book, replica NES cartridge, and overall impressive nature of the collector's edition as significant positives. Many praise the inclusion of various collectibles and the nostalgic appeal of the package. However, some express disappointment that the game itself is distributed as a download code rather than a physical cartridge. The beautiful packaging and extensive art book are frequently cited as highlights.

When I saw this was being released I knew I had to buy it. It was hard to find at first but after multiple drops I was able to buy one from BB. It’s a perfect collectors item for any FE even though it doesn’t have a physical cartridge. Delivery was quick and product came excellent condition.

How a Collectors Edition should be

The box was a little dented but everything inside was mint. Collectors editions like this need to happen more often. Only thing that could of made this better was a real working NES game.

As someone who grew up with the NES and has since become a Fire Emblem fan, I absolutely LOVED this set. The art book is nice, and the Nintendo Power replica poster is a neat snapshot in time, but the star of the show is the NES cart. No, it is not a functional cart, but as far as replicas go it is a really neat display piece. It even comes in a box that looks like could've been on the shelf in the 80's or 90's and the cartridge has a plastic sleeve that goes around it. Not to mention the manual, map, etc. My only criticism is that *you do not get a physical Switch cart for the game*. This is a huge bummer when you consider that you're paying $50 for a $6 digital game. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

This thing is legit! They could’ve charged $100 for this thing. Everything is quality. Art book has a lot of art. The NES box is nostalgic complete with map, manual, and poster. And the beautiful clear NES replica cart is hefty. Ignore that 2 star review saying the items were cheap, because they are not. Everything in this collection is quality. The only complaint is that there’s no physical game, but they told us this from the start so yeah.

I don't understand why other reviewers are hating on this. I have a large amount of collectors editions and this one is seriously cool!
It feels much better quality than most collectors edidtions. The outer box is gorgeous looking and feels great: nice matte texture with embossed fire emblem text.
The cartridge box is awesome looking, and continues that great texture.
The glass cartridge is really heavy, and super transparent. Really nice and tops off with a great quality NES sleeve.
The art book is a hard cover, way better quality than most art books these days.
I do wish it included a hard copy of the actual switch game, but at the price point, and for the quality I am not at all surprised it is a download. This would probably cost %140 if it included the game.
Don't sleep in this collectors edition, it is really cool.

Note: Does not contain a physical cartridge, only digital download. This didn't really bother me, but some may be disappointed.
I want to note, that all the artwork in the book is almost entirely from the games featuring Archanea characters, that means there's no artwork from Three Houses, Path of Radiance, etc. The art book is really fantastic, I just LOVE having so much artwork bundled into one book, it's also nice to have art from the Card Game and Cipher (two card games that never left Japan). The book also has a neat timeline section, covering the events relevant to the Archanea based games.
It was really cool to see a full game box replica of the original Famicom game, it's rare for games to come with manuals these days, so having a manual was sweet!
Despite never owning a Nintendo Power magazine, I did think it was pretty awesome for them to make a retroactive magazine poster for this game.
The glass NES cartridge replica is nice as well, though I feel like if I dropped it, it would break, but that would be my fault lol, I mean, it IS glass after all.
Overall, a pretty sweet deal.

Really Beautiful Collector's Edition

This is the most gorgeous collector's edition that Nintendo has yet released for a Fire Emblem game, and that's really saying something. The price does seem a bit high for a set that includes a download code for a $5 Famicom game (which is being localized here for North America for the first time in its history), but the collectibles you get are fantastic. The glass NES cartridge is just beautiful, and comes sheathed in an old-school NES cartridge sleeve, which in turn comes packaged in an awesome replica NES box complete with screenshots and game descriptions like the old days, which I loved. The art book is also a real thing of beauty, and probably the nicest one I've seen in a Fire Emblem Collector's Edition to date. It's a highly limited set, so your chance to own it is probably already long gone as I write this, but it's absolutely worth picking up if you have the chance and are a fan of Fire Emblem and Nintendo's collector's editions!

Really nicely put together set of items. The art book has art from the previous releases of Shadow Dragon and FEH art of the units that are featured in that game as well. The replica cartridge is a neat little doodad and the poster is a nice bonus. This is definitely only for fans though as this will not appeal to newcomers to the series.

The extras from the Anniversary Edition are fantastic. I have the NES cartridge displayed on a shelf and the NES boxart displayed in my home office. The art book is over 200 pages long and includes descriptions about Fire Emblem characters from the entire history of the games.
I thought the game itself would be lame since it's a 1990 turn-based RPG but I've had a lot of fun with it. Played through twice.

This collector's edition... WOW! I've owned all the previous collector's editions for the Fire Emblem games and I think this one takes the cake. The goodies inside are perfect for anyone who are fans of the series and of old school nostalgic NES style. A must buy. Hopefully, Nintendo makes more and brings them back into stock...

Why Nintendo?? Why do you have to be such a pain!
EVERY single time a popular game comes out in a limited edition, NINTENDO always underproduces! It's as if the big-N does it on purpose to generate more attention to said product which will be difficult to find. Of course, this Anniversary Edition is no different.
Let's talk about it, and let's talk about purchasing it. First, I'm sorry if you're having problems finding this. Please do NOT purchase it from a scalper! I honestly do not think it is worth the price, and instead it is better to write a letter to Nintendo expressing your frustration at them! Why is this not worth the scalper fee? Let me explain what exactly you get:
The Box: the NES-style box you get is glorious! Beautiful cover art to a wonderful game! Welcome back to the 80s!
Color Manual: Quite nice. Very nice actually. Now if only Nintendo made manuals for their other games.
Map: It's nice! A throwback to when such things were common in NES/SNES games.
NES sleeve: just like you remember and dream about.
mini-Nintendo Power: very cute! Has a nice cover and some hints about playing the game.
Art Book: the highlight of the collection. The book is hardcover and has illustrations from ALL the Fire Emblem games. Very nicely done.
The Game (paperweight): the game is a solid piece of plastic in the shape of an NES cartridge with a Fire Emblem logo. Is it awesome? for a few moments, until you realize that Nintendo could easily have released an actual working NES Fire Emblem game! YES they could! NO, it would not have been expensive. People have been selling reproductions of Fire Emblem (in English) in actual NES cartridges for many years! A company like Nintendo could have done this, but nope, we get a paperweight instead. The game itself is downloaded via a code given on a card.

excellent collectors edition. Art book is fantastic and the clear replica NES cart is great. although I'm a little confused as to why NES when it never came out on that platform. Would have been better served with a Famicom Cart

This is a very cool Anniversary collection, but its hard to recommend to anyone outside of die hard Fire Emblem fans.
There are some neat pack-ins, like the crystal NES game, unfortunately none of it actually function.
I was also disappointed that this did not include a copy of the game, but instead a download code.
Would recommend only for die hard Fire Emblem fans, or Nintendo collectors.

A great Memento to own for people who love the series. Absolutely worth it for the art book alone. The game itself definitely shows its age, especially when comparing it to its remake for the DS. It is still impressive though in a way when you think about the era that it came out in where a lot of games were more “simple” in their controls/mechanics and then you have this game. The fast forward feature helps a lot to make the experience more engaging and the rewind feature helps to correct mistakes made since there is a lack of a battle forecast like the new games have. Overall it is worth a playthrough just to see how far the series has come.

A lot of reviews are pointing out nintendos inability to stock popular products, and the product is getting low scores because of this. Availability has nothing to do with the quality of the product itself, and should never be considered in the review of the product. Low availability is par for the course with nintendo, and should be expected at this point, even if it is anti-consumer bs. Anyway, this is a great product. I appreciate how they dressed it up to look like a NES release, as if to say “this is how it would have looked 30 years ago, sorry for the delay”. A high quality collection piece.
