    Fire Emblem, but clunky

You’re getting a digital version of the first Fire Emblem game, which is a 30 year old game. This game definitely plays like it’s 30 years old. The UI is clunky by modern standards, and the game lacks some of the basic features present in all modern Fire Emblem games, such as the battle forecast (tells you how much damage you’ll deal and take and your odds of hitting and getting hit) and the highlighted movement grid that tells you how far your selected character can move. However, a bookmark feature, which makes the game easier to play in short bursts, and a turn rewind feature, which allows you to undo mistakes, were added. All in all, you should get it if you like Fire Emblem games and NES-era games. If you’re not a fan of NES games, you should probably avoid this game.

    Little things

It's fun for how old it is. Enjoyable enough and easy to turn on and play a little while if you are on a time constraint. UI is a little wonky and frustrating to get through, however. I feel like they could have fixed that a bit better, instead of only allowing 2x time speed on certain parts. Because if you want to read dialogue but also speed through the slow-ish menu, it skips the dialogue as well. And that is annoying.

Surprisingly deep. Not ruined by fond memories!

I have fond memories for NES games. However, when I replay them, usually they disappoint. This one cannot because IT'S NEVER BEEN RELEASED BEFORE! So it's really a new game for me. It's got all the nostalgic sounds I remember, but I don't have any memories of it that can be ruined by remembering it being better than it was. The music can get a little grating at times, but I'm really, really impressed at how deep this game is for being an NES game. It's surprising the depth of the units available. It does not tell you its secrets, so be prepared to be frustrated or consult a guide. These games USED to come with paper books that gave you backstory and help, of course, so that's one thing you're missing from the start. I'm only a bit of the way through, but it's an interesting story, and seems to be more promising the further I get.

I don't like how it's a limited release, BUT release choices aside Fire Emblem is a solid game! The emulation's pretty decent as well, it feels pretty at home on the Switch.

I haven’t played any other games in the fire emblem series so I didn’t know what to expect. It was cute but naturally simplistic since it is an nes game. I only played an hour or two of it before I got bored, but it was interesting to see this games origins.
