...Firefly explores the lives of a group of people who fought on the losing side of a civil war and others who now make a living on the fringe of society, as part of the pioneer culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. In this future, the only 2 surviving superpowers, the United States and China, fused to form the central federal government, called the Alliance, resulting in the fusion of the 2 cultures.

I saw the movie first because I didn't know there was a series. Fox did a horrible job promoting this series;I am a sci-fi fan and I never even heard of it until early 2009 after I happened to notice the movie at a friends house. I love this show - every single actor, every character, every part - it is so much fun.

Out of Joss Whedon's many brilliant television shows this one stands out. Firefly chronicles the stories of the crew of the Firefly class transport 'Serenity'. The charaters are interesting and easy to relate to the story line is always deeply interesting. The show is charming, whitty and very intriguing. There is something in this show for anyone and everyone. I would highly recommend this show.

Joss Whedon does a fantastic job, too bad he was only allowed 12 or so episodes to introduce us to these great characters. Fox should be ashamed of themselves for buying up a great show solely for the purpose of shutting it down. Only the fan outcry made them publish the series to DVD. Hooray for fans! You let Mainstream Media know you wanted a movie! Watch Serenity next peeps.

Firefly is worth every penny Best Buy charges for it and then some. Its unique, like no other show ever put on television. A hybrid of sci-fi/frontier drama with intimate character development and riveting story. This is one you can't miss. Make sure to watch this first before you watch the major motion picture Serenity. It will help you appreciate Serenity a whole lot more.

We were always Firefly fans, and were sad when the corporate heads, (I think they are at NBC now), discontinued the series. Joss Whedon created a smart sci-fi like he always does. There was not a lot of blood, gore and social promiscuity, but the each episode made you think. It was a great series in which to escape. Anyone who loved the series will love these DVDs.

Another show that received an undeserved cancellation too early from the network that refused to air the episodes in the original order. Joss Whedon struck another hit with this 'Space Western'. With a great cast and the same witty banter you have come to expect from his shows, we can only hope that Firefly will make a comeback someday. A must see for anyone, in my opinion.

Watching this show allows viewers a chance to see the genius of Joss Whedon. Although I am not a giant science fiction fan, I could not turn away from this powerful series. This is, to put it simply, what science fiction should be. It is horrible that the series was not continued. It ends with so much left to tell. You will regret missing this television gem.

I think this series was ended too soon - but I didn't find it until after it ended, so I had no way of convincing the network to keep it. While I find the bad Chinese mixed in with English to be a bit irritating, there are more than enough humor points for me to thoroughly enjoy myself. I loved the characterization and character development as well.

Firefly was just put on the wrong network. SciFi is great and plenty of people loved it but none of SciFi originals are properly marketed. If this was on a major network, it would be a household name today. Excellent show. Great comic relief. Impressive film-making with beautiful backgrounds. Also has a great theme song you quickly begin to love.

For anyone who enjoys good scifi, this show is for you. The cast works perfect together, the story and universe is perfect, and you always look forward to the next episode, right up until the crushing realization that the series is over, cancelled in its prime.

If you like smart & funny banter combined with great scifi this is it.There is nothing like this & highly doubtful that there will be again.Joss Wheadon is a great writer & created a world you can totally believe to exsit in the future.Wonderful actors like Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres & everyone else are a complete joy to watch.

This DVD collection was the Premise to the movie "Serenity". The TV Series only ran for 1 season before FOX pulled it. The series details the adventures of a group of people who are very different, yet are able to come together and work as a team. Think of it as a Space adventure meets the Wild West. Great series and I would reccommend it to everyone!

A friend told me about the Firefly Series. When I saw the series on sale I, purchased a copy. I'm such a Firefly fan now. Wow! great acting, great story! I can't believe FOX canceled the series. What were they thinking? If you are not familiar with Firefly or the spin-off movie Serenity, I highly recommend you purchase a copy for yourself.

Canceling this show was one of Fox's biggest mistakes. This is one of my favorite sci-fi shows ever, not because of visuals or crazy plots lines but because it has a great story and some of the best characters ever on tv. They did follow this up with the movie Serenity to bring some closure but I still would like to see this show come back.

Finally, a sci-fi series that features strong women wearing something other than skin tight jumpsuits. As a girl geek, I've had a hard time finding heroines to look up to until I found the crew and passengers on Firefly. Brainy and beautiful, not a whimp in the bunch. Plus, the men ain't hard to look at, either.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. Josh Whedon is brilliant and this is one of his finest works. I was so excited when this series went on sale for $6.99 and purchased it immediately. I was glad to see that it was just as good when I rewatched and look forward to rewatching whenever I want!

"Friefly" arrived promptly and all components were present and in excellent condition. Compatible with all the players I tried on several machines. Plot was engaging, pacing was crisp, acting excellent. Reminds me a a particularly good TRAVELER campaign. Clearly a PG 13 rating.

Most people already know about the show, or have watched the movie 'Serenity' already. My main two cents on this series is this: It gets better with repeated viewings. That is a pretty rare thing with television shows. It also leaves you craving more and wishing it didn't get cancelled.

Firefly takes the best of everything entertaining and combines it all into the best, most short-lived TV series ever. Action, comedy, diverse interesting characters, romance, space travel, scoundrels and heros. I would recommend this to anyone, because it has something for everyone.
