I really liked the movie a lot so I picked this up and enjoyed it too. Gives more background on the characters and gives more depth to the movie.

Yeah, it's a bit corny but it works. Anyone who has seen this short-lived series knows just how good it is. I initially had my doubts, but after giving it a second try (courtesy of Netflix) I was hooked. This set is a nice, all-inclusive package as far as the epsodes go. It also includes the unaired ones, a map of the Firefly universe, and a set of character cards. The follow-up film, Serenity (reviewed seperately and yes, sold seperately) however, is not included, though that would have made for a nice, complete package. Regardless, if you're a fan, it's worth it. If you've only heard of it from, like, everyone else, what are you waiting for?

Firefly was an amazing Sci-Fi adventure that overdelivered during its too-short run on Fox. The show alone is 5-Stars. The lower rating here is due to Best Buy advertising the 15th Anniversary Collector BluRay, but delivering the standard BluRay version. The transfer quality is still amazing, and is far superior to the original DVD copy that it's replacing; however, the changed product was less than desired.

WHY was it cut short? :( Idk, but it was classic and had so much potential left. Anyway, this is a great series. Like any good show, it introduces you to the characters then as the series goes on, it throws the characters into new situations, revealing more about their character. Whether that situation be a conversation with another character that they'd been avoiding or simply a harrowing life and death situation, you're always learning more about these characters. They don't stick to their stereotype (in fact they don't have a stereotype for the most part); they grow. Firefly, we miss you. :(

This is a nice Blu-ray set and package for fans to revisit this classic series. I had the complete series on the original DVD release, so this anniversary set in Blu-ray is also a nice upgrade. I wish that the Serenity movie was also included in this Anniversary package. That would seem to make sense to me for a truly "complete" Firefly package. I am also a little confused as to the viewing order of the episodes in this package. The included booklet does indicate the original airdate and the filming order for each episode but there isn't an easy way to watch the series in both orders other than manually selecting individual episodes? For these reasons I rated this as 4 stars. Regardless, this is a nice set for both Firefly fans and "newbies" to this classic series.

I would have preferred this to come in a Steelbook cover, but I guess you can't have everything. :-) The main differences to this and the regular Blu ray release is a map of the Firefly 'Verse and Character cards (5.5" x 6.5") that have a short background on each character on one side and a quote on the other. Packaging feels like an older leather(y) type of finish, which fits in with the feel of the series. I'd recommend picking it up because, hey...it's Firefly.

This collector's edition of the all too short series is perfect for any fan of Firefly. It comes with a map of the Verse, character cards, and, of course, the complete series with the special features. The set also has a nice texture and look that will make it stand out in your collection. It's also incredibly cheap at $20. You have no reason to not get this edition. Set course and purchase this set, then keep on flying. Stay Shiny.

A great Joss Whedon show that wasn't giving the chance it deserved. Loses a star for no digital.

Nice to have this series in one neat package. The special packaging one is the nicer version.

Firefly is one of my all time favorite shows and this particular set is a great addition to any fellow Browncoat out there. There is a lot of really cool additional items in the set and the case itself is gorgeous to look at. If you only want the set for the show itself then you can probably save a few bucks by buying the regular option but if you are a collector than you must get this version.

I watched this show not long after it aired, and it's one of the best Sci-fi shows ever. Joss Whedon did such an amazing job writing and directing the show, and the each cast portrayed their character fanatically! It's such a monumentally incredible shame that the show was cancelled before it even finished it's first season. Despite that, it's still one of the best shows ever!

Firefly. Yes! One of the best Sci-Fi series to "not" get a second season. Firefly had a great cast, snappy dialogue, and a really good story that I miss to this day. Nathan Fillion was such a revelation in this role. Witty, annoying, fun!!! The entire cast was superb. Buy this while you can, especially when it goes on sale. That's what I did!

Wow just wow!! We bought in blue ray because we killed our dvd versions of it and man do we love it more and more. This show was canceled after it’s first season so it made it even more special. We hold of a year and then watch them all over again then watch the movie. Acting and story is a sci-fi lovers dream come true.

Great movie I really enjoy this film cannot day enough

This show is very original and creative and a lot of love clearly went into it. However, like most cult classics it’s not as good as they make it out to be. However, the show easily gets by on its charm and originality. 5 stars for value and the three unaired episodes for the complete first season run. I had heard of this show but I never watched it. Now, I’m not a fan but I recommend it.

I'm focusing on the transfer to Blu-ray, not the series itself. As the series was shot on film, the transfer to HD is very mixed. The practical effects hold up well as the tight shots reveal details that I hadn't seen before. The sound transfer also brings in immersive details that really add to the immersiveness. However, the special effects were made during a time that 480 resolution was the standard and it shows—I found they oftentimes pulled me out of the story.

I have the standard definition series and my wife and I love Firefly. When I saw the 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition in BlueRay I knew I had to have it and hoped the quality was good. The Edition far surpasses my expectations for video and audio quality. The cost is very good for the quality of the Edition. Buy it before they are all gone and you've lost out.

What can one say.. this series was ahead of its time and full of potential. What a shame it had to die under Fox's lack of conviction for the series. I personally think this series would have thrive now under Netflix and Sci-Fi channels. If you're a brown coat fan, this is the one to get.

Great Sci-Fi series created and directed by Joss Whedon. Series was intended to run for 7 seasons but Fox thought the series too dark and ran episodes out of order. Big cult following. Astronaut Steve Swanson brought this Dvd and the movie release Serentity to the International Space Station in 2007. Great cast and great visuals. And at a great price.

The packaging for this set has a unique suede feel. The extra goodies (cards and map) are interesting but nothing earth shattering. The series itself has great video quality and sound. If you’re a fan of the series and you only have the DVD version, it’s worth the upgrade.
