I recall as a youngster watching Neil Armstrong taking his "small step" on a 10" Zenith black and white TV. I enjoyed learning about "The Rest of the Story".

Perhaps I am prejudiced by the cinematic biographical template established by "Apollo 13" but I had found this particular feature to be somewhat less than satisfying. Storytelling was frustrating, Gosling was capable but I have seen him act with more enthusiasm previously and I refuse to believe that Mrs. Armstrong was as abrasive as she was portrayed. Better to wait for a snowbound blizzard and streaming service failure than watch this with any expectation of excellence.

This is an enjoyable DVD of a well known historical event. The movie obviously contains some less than accurate information. However, this appears to be in the interest of maintaing interest and continuity.

My kids are finally old enough to have fun watching the many recent space movie “documentaries” but it’s too bad we don’t yet have an exciting space program for their generation like Apollo and the Shuttle.

Great performances by the actors involved in the film. Brings a new sense of what it must have been like to be involved in the space program at that time.

I enjoy movies based on true stories and this was a good one. I enjoy Ryan gosling in most of his movies and he brought the story of Niel Armstrong to life.

Movie started out moving along but it does not have that much action. I was hoping it would go through more of the training and less about the family.

A great looking 4K disc and a great true story. Don't look for speed and flash, ala "Star Wars" and "Gravity". This is something real and a well told. An important telling of our space program.

This movie, based on the book with the same name, is a great story of the First Man to step foot on the moon--Neil Armstrong. Neil led quite an extraordinary life with many triumphs and a few tragedies.

Good film and excellent acting all around ,the moon landing was awesome didn't know this story about the space race and the toll it took on him and his family ,a must see for fans about space exploration

It seemed to skirt the movie Right Stuff from 1983. I believe their are many who were never recognized for their contribution in the programs these movies are about and room for a corrected story.

This was a nice follow up to La La Land for the director and star. I thought it deserved more critical praise and awards attention than it actually got.

Wasn't as good as Apollo 13, but still very good. If you enjoy movies that feature the stories of early spaceflight, then you will probably enjoy this.

I am a big fan of all NASA activity during this era and this was a very well done movie showing the perspective of Armstrong. The effects were awesome and very much had the feel of Interstellar.

It’s a great iPad especially for the money. Bought a cover that included a wireless keyboard. With the package the keyboard addition cost only a few dollars more than just a cover. Great deal.

First Man is the best movie that centers around NASA during it's heyday since The Right Stuff. This is a must see movie if you really want to know what it was like for the Gemini/Apollo astronauts!

First Man is an excellent movie. If you saw this in theaters, you know the audio ROCKED the auditorium... but this 4K Blu-ray doesn't rock. The audio [Dolby ATMOS] is neutered, lacking a serious amount of bass, making the movie feel dull. The video quality is pretty nice over all but Universal should have really put some effort on making this 4K Blu-ray sound spectacular. Major disappointment and lazy (or incompetent) work by Universal for the most part.

Very good movie. Sound and picture are top. Would recommend

Not so sure how close to reality this film really is but I understand the perspective is from like the astronauts ositions so that was interesting.

This is a fantastic film. If you loved Apollo 13 back in the 90s, you'll love First Man. Powerful drama and with stunning visuals, this is a hit and a great addition to your space film collection.
