Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Charge 2's accurate heart rate and sleep tracking capabilities, along with its ease of use and long battery life. Many appreciate the device's step tracking and the additional features it offers. However, some concerns exist regarding the band's durability and the lack of full waterproofing. The screen size and notifications are also frequently praised.

I bought this watch to monitor my steps, all the other features are a good plus. However, I am very disappointed the accuracy on steps is terrible. walked a hundred steps and it showed 6. Did it again and it showed 30. Too far off to be useful

Fitbit bands (Cheap internal Wireless chip)

You have been warned...the app is great, the product seems to be great out of the package...but...the fitbit band is made with some sort of cheaper internal wireless part that will hit end of life literally after 1-2 years. I have owned two in the past 3 years and Fitbit chooses to still put a bandaid on the product and offer a percentage off the purchase of another band... I am moving on from Fitbit.

Silent Alarm is so weak it does not wake me.

I have used the Fitbit Charge HR for 18 months and it has always awakened me from a sound sleep where the new "Charge 2" does not. because it so weak. I contacted Fitbit and they know about this condition and said " there will be no changes coming for this model" so I will most likely return mine *(or)* wear my model "HR" when sleeping. Other then that the "Charge 2" has a big bright display with larger numbers and more clock face options. It was almost impossible to read the "HR" time outdoors on a sunny day and the "Charge 2" is a lot better in those conditions. If you don't need the silent alarm then I would recommend the "Charge 2" to others,,,,,

    Doesn't last a year

I recommend buying an extended warranty, or, preferably, not buying this product. Our originally purchased Fitbit lasted less than a year. The company replaced it, but this second one lasted less than a year, too. Our experience is very similar to others we have spoken with. Fitbit will only honor the warranty from the original date of purchase, which leaves us with no alternative but to throw this one away.

    Fitbit Charge 2

So when I first got my Fitbit I was in love. I wear it almost everyday and night. That was until I started getting this red band of a rash under the Fitbit which I concluded is the sweat under the band rubbing against my arm and irritating it. That was no problem! The problem I have with it and what other people also have a problem with is the watch counting calories when you are not wearing it and giving you a heart rate of 120.

    MajorKong

I am a longtime Fitbit One user, who was recently forced to switch to a wrist based tracker as the One is discontinued. I have found the charge to be significantly less accurate 10-20% fewer steps than the one. Additionally, the HR monitor is basically useless for running and workouts (significant variations and noise). I can not recommend this device for anyone who is seriously interested in training.

    Beware of false claims

I bought the device today and tried setting it up via my iPhone and my computer. Neither worked. Then I contacted customer support, they were nice enough, but they just wasted my time by doing things like turning off and on my phone, logging out of the Fitbit app, all to no avail. Finally, they offered to send me a dongle to fix it. I asked how long that would take to arrive. They said 5-7 days. The wonders of technology. You have to ask yourself, if Fitbit can't do something as simple as connect via bluetooth to a phone or computer, does it really have the technology to accurately "connect" to things that are far more subtle and analogue such as heart rates? This is what I wondered, and I then googled it and learned their is serious doubt as to the integrity of Fitbit's technological claims. Here is a good article from the NYTimes. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/26/technology/personaltech/fitbit-accuracy.html?_r=0 Judge for yourself, but mine is going back to Best Buy.

    This thing sucks!

Terrible quality, poor readings. Heart rate woudn't work half the time. I would have to hit it on my wrist to get the "--" lines to go away and show a number. When I would be doing cardio, it displayed a number that was consistently off. Tried re-setting it a number of times and still acted up. I also had the Fitbit Alta before this, and both had strap problems. Maybe because I moved a lot in my sleep but the staps lost their function to click and stay latched to the device - on both models. I play guitar right handed so it being on my right wrist, it would count fake steps every time I strummed the strings. When I was driving on the highway on tires that needed rotation, my steering wheel would vibrate a bit and guess what... my crappy fit bit was counting steps just by holding on the steering wheel. At that point, I knew I was done with this junk and never wore it again.

    What a piece of trash!

I bought this for my wife for Christms. By early June there was a tiny crack in the screen. My wife doesnt remember hiting it on anything. There are no marks on the face at all. Just a hairline crack. She called fitbit. They refused to do anything about it. Now the heart rate monitor quit working. I called fitbit. I told the customer service rep about the problem. He put me on hold for 13 minutes before he finally came back. I wonder if he was waiting for me to hang up. Anyway, they refused to do anything except to offer me a 25% discount on another new one. I asked if he really though I was going to buy another one when they refused to stand behind the warranty on the first one. The crack has continued to grow. Now nearly the entire screen is slip in half. What a piece of trash. And what a terrible customer service dept.

After logging onto web and downloading program for Windows 10 on my computer nothing else seemed to work. Instructions all assumed I had a smart phone with Blue Tooth link. Total void of any help for direct link to my computer. Customer service no help. Returned it for a Garmin

I have been thru 4 of these in 16 months. Fitbit customer service is good but these just don't last. Heart rate is not accurate and should.be ignored. Sleep tracking is a cool feature as is the silent alarm.

I bought a Charge 2 a few hours ago. I tried to sync it. The app said that it was located, it would vibrate but the screen would not come on. I thought maybe that it need to be charged so I did so for several hours. Still doing the same thing. Followed all instruction, turned off bluetooth then turned it back, reset the device. No luck. I called Fitbit customer service. I got someone in a third world country after waiting for about 10 minutes. He wanted my contact info....I gave him n=my e-mail address. After 5 minutes he dtill had not asked me what my issue was. I told him off and that I would be returning the device and hung up. Device and customer service is crap.

Fitbit was a great birthday gift until the band attachment broke and the watch keeps falling off. Cheap case and attachments. I'm hoping BB will fix or replace this. It did keep me moving and tracked my exercise but had difficulty registering stairs.

    Total let down

So I bought this at the store in Braintree Massachusetts this past winter. After approximately two months of use it stopped working and linking up with my phone. They sent me a new one and now it has proven to be completely worthless for cycling. I went for a quick 5.5 mile ride today and it would not stay synced with my phone. It gave me credit for .09 miles. I have reached out to them and they just say try this try that and that's about it. Don't waste your money on this thing. It's a glorified watch that doesn't do all what it advertises it does. I got it for cycling and it doesn't work for it....

Was a Christmas present for my wife. Had connection/sync issues with her Android phone. 9 months later, the plastic at the end of the strap where it connects to the device broke, resulting in her losing it. Too expensive for the value you get from it and especially for the poor quality wrist strap.

The display frequently freezes. It can be unfrozen by restarting the device, but it needs to be connected to the charger for this. If you don't have access to the charger, your stuck. The display will start working again by itself, but this can take hours (the worst I've seen is 6 hours). I'm returning mine to Best Buy.

My previous Fitbit HR died after two years, but performed well. Since it was past warranty, I purchased the newer version, the Charge 2 and regret that purchase. The tracker could never pick up my heartbeat. I tried all the recommended solutions and spent time on the phone with Customer Service. Issue never was resolved. I am going to buy a Garmin.
