I just bought and started using the Fitbit Charge. I think I'm going to like it. Easy to set-up and learn to use. Comfortable to wear. I like that this one has the watch function.

Thought I would start out the new year with an exercise motivator! Way better than a pedometer app on your phone since you do not have to have your phone on you at all times which is inconvenient. Very easy to use and fun!

Been using it two weeks. Purchased for my elderly parent. She has not complained. Using it motivates her to keep walking. Easy to track and buddy with others on the app.

    The clasp ruins this product

I purchased a Fitbit Charge, thinking it would be the same as my wife's Fitbit Charge HR, but without the heart rate monitor. The band is inferior, and as a result, my watch keeps falling off. I am just outside of the return window for the store at which it was purchased, so I contacted Fitbit customer service. They will not replace the band with a better version, nor will they replace my Charge with the Charge HR even if I pay the difference. I'm surprised at the lack of ownership Fitbit has taken with their very flawed design. And seeing as I've had two Fitbit zips that cost $60 each fail, and now this $130 failure of a wrist band, I have obviously been a fool to throw so much money away on a company with bad products and no responsibility to fix them. I will not be able to justify ever giving Fitbit any more money ever again if they refuse to fix this.

This product is great. It tracks your steps very well. It's addicting to challenge friends and see who can win. The silent alarm is also very nice.

    Somewhat fragile...

The main reason I choose this product was it has watch function. It's great to keep track your activities too. I noticed if you don't swing your arms properly it won't count those as steps. It is somewhat fragile so I don't recommend to wear when you take shower etc. The button fell off after a month use so I had to exchange it. Also, the edge of the band right next to the button is getting tearing apart as well. Other than that, I like this product and wearing it everyday.

    horrible design!

The electronics of this device are great! The physical design is horrible. I work with my hands and this thing is continually falling off. The Band broke after 6 months and best but was nice enough to replace it for me. I went from a large to the next size smaller thinking that might help. Well three days later and it has fallen off 2 out of three days already! The little metal tab that is supposed to latch it fall out as well I lost one of those on my old one and almost lost it on my new one today! For something that is supposed to track your activity you would think it would be designed for active people! You should not be forced to buy replacement parts for something that you have payed this amount of money. Maybe they should have looked at the designs of something else first, like maybe a watch.

Fitbit has such a great reputation, so I knew I wanted to try their new technology. I decided on the Charge because of the watch feature. My only disappointment in the product is that the time doesn't show continually. It's easy enough to make it show, but was hoping it would always be visible.

    Worked great, until it didn't

I had my Fitbit charge a little over 2 months wearing it everyday. I thought it was, for me, the perfect mix of features. When it broke, it was pretty obvious there was something wrong because the screen went blank and it started ticking. Not a good sign. Fitbit customer support was great and sent me a new one, same model. While setting up the first replacement I noticed it wouldn't hold a charge. Customer support was able to verify that and they were willing to sent me a second replacement as long as I sent the 1st replacement back on their dime. Now I am not sure if I even want another one, but if they are sending a free one, why not. Fitbit has a significant quality control problem if replacement devices are also failing. However they likely do not care that much because I suspect that the users are the real product they are selling. As long as they have a minimum number of people's data coming in, I suspect they are happy. You know what they say about something being worth what you pay. I will try the Garmin Vivoactive next, because I sure don't have any faith that replacement #3 is going to last.

Fitbit devices have everything you need in a fitness watch. If you don't care about having a heart rate monitor you can't go wrong with the Charge.

    works OK, but falls apart

I purchased this directly from FitBit. For the most part, it works OK in terms of tracking steps, etc. But that's about the best thing I can say about it. Shortly after I got it, I scratched the display by brushing up against the wall in my house. This is a common problem; there is a lengthy string on the user forum for this device. I also have come very near losing it on multiple occasions as the band has a poor latching mechanism that comes undone very easily. Two or three months ago, I noticed that the hard plastic body of the device was separating from the soft plastic of the band on the back and then, more recently, on the side. Today, I notice that the button on the side of the device that you use to activate the display had fallen off, so now I have no way of reading it, without going on-line. Along the way, I've also had to reset the device since it was not counting flights of stairs correctly. On the whole, while it does the job of counting steps OK, the workmanship and quality of materials is very poor. I'm being generous by giving it two stars.

A lot of folks I know have been getting Fitbits. It got my curiosity going but never thought I'd get one. Then with the sale and gift card rebate, I pulled the trigger! Very easy to get it up and running. The dashboard is very informative and I am already looking forward to the next "challenges"! Also, the tracker synched up with my Galaxy S5 and the app is easy to use as well. OK, gotta go get my steps in!

    Works as promised, easy set-up

The Charge works as described. It was easy to setup on my Mac & iPhone. No rash! For me it's a little weird wearing it all of the time, but I did not routinely wear a watch. I am still trying to determine the accuracy because the step count does not always agree with my husbands Fitbit One. I wish / am hoping for interchangeable bands, like the flex, but having the clock & stair count was important to me.
