Serves its Purpose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did some research on the Surge and thought it was going to be a good fit for me and my activity needs. My jawbone up band had broken and while looking up bands this one kept showing that it held up pretty well. I train for half marathons and marathons and I wanted something that would let me know of my average pace per mile. This smart band is very helpful. The only draw back for me is the battery life. It says that it can last up to 7 days before needing a charge without gps. Im lucky if i can get a full 5 days before needing a charge. All in all its a great tracker of steps, calories, sleeping cycle, heart rate and pace...fitbit just needs to look into a longer lasting charge/battery

Great for beginner and beyond
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of cool features on this guy! However, it is NOT waterproof. It is water-resistant. It gives heart rate, flights of stairs, steps, and even incoming calls if your Bluetooth is on. You can tell it if you are on a treadmill or something else. Setup was a little more than the other Fitbits , but not bad if you follow the directions. :-) It is not a subtle as the Flex or the Charge. However, we have two, and both guys love them.

great fitness watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.easy to use and does a variety of functions including: tells time and date, heart rate, elevation gain, distance traveled (in miles) , steps taken, calories burned. The dashboard on the computer syncs effortlessly with the watch and gives a very nice graphic and numeric representation of all of the above functions. In addition it is also has a gps unction that tracks mileage and routes during a number of exercise activities.

Great Fitness Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has a heart rate monitor and GPS so it's great for counting steps and miles and heart rate activity and to track a hike or run. The battery does not last longer than 5-7 days so that is a downside. The sleep tracker works OK.

Good General Activity Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got as a gift. I run 3-4 days a week and use it to track them. Fairly accurate as far as HR and distance. I take it off at night because it is a little bulky and I often sleep with a hand under my pillow and I'm afraid it will activate buttons I don't want pushed. Battery lasts 4-5 days. It must use significantly more power when GPS tracking during runs, than just using passively. Overall happy with it for what I use it for.

Great item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has built in gps which is very useful for runners and the heart rate monitor is fairly accurate. Sometimes condensation gets into the screen and that is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Great features but suspect durability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch/fitness tracker has all the features you need GPS. Heart rate, sleep tracking...It is also has good software interface. The problem is the band itself. Industrial rubber that is not durable. My band broke after one week of use. Tried to tighten and it snapped. Problem is you can not just replace the band but must replace the entire watch! Turned in the Fitbit Surge and replaced with the Microsoft Band 2 which is far more accurate (Heart rate monitor) and comfortable and durable construction. Recommend the Microsoft over the surge.

It works very well and keeps me informed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Fitbit Surge. I like it because it serves the main purpose as a nice watch. But it tells me the number of steps taken in a day, gives me my heart rate, can monitor my sleeping patterns, calculates the number of miles completed, calculates the number of calories burnt, and sends me e-mails on my progress.

FitBit Surge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to aid in keeping me motivated and active into retirement, Many very good features, ie. sleep pattern, heart rate, steps, and usual array of features. Positives include these features and log history directly to computer with good dashboard data. Also has descent band claspe and this time buttons will not shatter in one month as in prior purchase. Negatives include band that looks to not be replacable when worn out. Also experienced bruised wrist and minor skin irritation after wearing 247 for a couple weeks,

Heart Rate Monitor AND Step Counter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super easy to use. I wore the chest strap for years and had made several attempts at 'other' strapless heart rate monitors. None worked as great as I wanted since I tend to mix my work outs. Love the silent alarm and the text notification option. The fifth star falls off since there is no option to delete a text message off the watch. The text message stays there...FOREVER, well unless you reset the watch. HOWEVER I would definitely recommend this product. Owned it for a few months now and have no issues.

Good device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i liked this device. It's very basic and does what it says. The heart rate feature is awesome but gets dicey if you sweat like a beast. There is a design flaw that causes this particular watch to fog up. The condensation gets extremely annoying it's an actual problem that many are encountering. The UI is awesome and it's super easy to use to help you keep track of your overall progress. The Fitbit dashboard is really great and they keep improving their layout to make your experience better. I loved the ease of use. It is a bit bulky looking and sits at an angle on your wrist. If you have really big wrists like I do, you're going to have to get the XL which can only be bought through the Fitbit site itself. I ended up giving it to my 12 YO, and she loves it. She's an aspiring soccer player and uses it to time her runs and keep herself in higher heart rate zones so she can work on steady state training and build endurance. I also really liked the analytics and the challenge feature. It was nice to have motivation.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a better way to keep track of my fitness and health. The Surge does that very well. I can track all my activities as I do them or enter them later. It coordinates all the information to give an overview. Wish the battery lasted longer and it is a bulky to wear but very happy I made the purchase.

Great all inclusive fitness watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several versions of the Fitbit and most recently upgraded to The Surge. I love the heartrate monitor being on my wrist. Of course it doesn't live up to a genuine medical quality device, but I didn't expect it to. It's within a few beats. I'm looking for motivation and this product delivers. I have step competitions with coworkers, track my food, and stay motivated seeing my daily progress. My only real complaint is that it's not waterproof, only resistant.

Works well for me :)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed several fitness trackers to replace my wonky Nike Fuelband and wanted something to track sleep and give me heart rate. It does not bother me that I wear a fitness band so I don't need to hide it dress it up as I just want it to work. I like the Fitbit app on my iPhone as it is easy to use and navigate. The HR monitor works well as does the sleep track. It monitors my activity better than my fuelband did and the touch screen makes it easy to select my work outs. Overall I like it and other than being bit large on top portion of the tracker I have no complaints.

So much more then top of line FitBit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fitbit user since 2011. Over time I upgraded to the flex and now the Surge. This is so much more then just a Fitbit, Its a SMARTWATCH too! You got ALL Fitbit features plus having it connect to your text message or control your iphone/ipod music, you'll love it. Heart Rate feature is great for exercising. I highly recommend this Fitbit! As always, I find the Fitbit brand to be of high value and the easiest brand of any fitness tracker to use. If it could be improved in anyway, I would recommed to make it more water resistant. You can wear it while washing hands but not for swimming or the shower, yet I could see wanting to wear it while swimming.

Best I have seen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic accuracy. Very comfortable to wear. The heart rate monitor allows me to make sure I stay in my target zone. Contains multiple exercise options to ensure an accurate calorie burn (ie.. Run, hike, walk, elliptical, spinning, weights, and general workout just to name a few). The gps tracking mapped my run with great accuracy.

Fitbit - Surge Fitness Watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a fan of Fitbit products. What I like most about this watch is it will allow you to measure your entire day's activity or you can set activity by exercise. (i.e. treadmill, elliptical, run w/GPS, workout, walk, etc...) This way you can monitor your progress on any one type of exercise. The features are that you can read txts, detect phone calls, control music, etc... The only thing that could be improved is that we should be able to wear it for showering and swimming as swimming is and can be used as an exercise.

Awesome and Accurate Fitness Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Surge. I initially thought it would be too big (I was using a Fitbit Charge HR), but thought I would give it a try, since I wanted something that always showed the time. It has been wonderful - not too big, much better battery life, and the GPS has made some of my Charge HR "Fake" steps obsolete. The only thing that would make this the perfect device is if it had a color OLED display, vs the plain white one.

Buy Geek Squad Protection!!!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this from bestbuy.com because they didn't have any in the store when I wanted it since it was fairly new. I have had one fitbit product before and ended up returning it because it counted steps while I was driving at work. I no longer drive for work and thought this would be a great watch to have. I had the Surge for about a month and then it just died. The screen was unresponsive and the only thing that would show up on the screen was the fit bit logo. I was beyond upset, less than a month and the thing already breaks. I was upset because when it was working it was super nice to have. I like the text alerts so I don't have to pull my phone out to see what they say. The hike feature is awesome!!!!! I went on a couple hikes while I had the watch and it shows you on the map where you went along with tracking your progress during the hike. It tracks your workouts too which is cool if you are on a treadmill, elliptical, or lifting weights because there is a setting for that too. If you like your fitbit and are looking to trade up then go for it. But be sure to buy the geek squad protection because I am very uneasy about it now that it just up and broke. Would be five stars if the first one didn't break.
