Glad that they added a Bike option to the exercise menu. I really like being able to map my runs and biking. Heart rate monitor is accurate when comparing to other methods. Even the sleep log is cool.

I've had my fitbit surge for over 2 months and I love it. I have diabetes and I can track everything, my steps, my sleeping, heart rate, calories, etc... It syncs up with myfitnesspal app and replaced my watch. It's a great device. The only minor negative is that the battery does not last as long as they say. It only lasts about 2 or 3 days instead of 7.

Enjoying my Fitbit Surge a lot. The steps counter works great and the exercise tracker is great too. My only complaint is the Bluetooth connection gets lost quite a bit. Sometimes it cannot find the device and you have turn on/off your Bluetooth to re-establish the connection. Also, the # of floors tracker is off. I can be home all day and I have zero stairs, but yet it tracked me doing 8 floors. Go figure.

I purchased the Surge for its ability to monitor heart rate. Takeaway is that it seems to average the HR over the last 1-2 minutes of activity. It does not record peak HR like a chest-strap-attached Timex or Omron would. Once I accepted that "feature", the Surge's accuracy compared well with the Timex or Omron devices over longer periods of time. Pluses: - Unparalleled ability to record all activity, particularly steps, distance (with Surge's built-in GPS), calories burned, floors climbed, and be able to display it along a time axis using Fitbit's software interface (currently working with its web-based interface, have not experienced the smart-phone-based interface). - Usefully long battery life - Without GPS usage, close to a week. With GPS, about 3 days. Watch can be recharged easily during down times to keep from running out of battery. I recharge mine every morning before I head for the shower. Minuses: - None observed, once I got used to the device's "features". For measurement of peak heartrate during intense cardio workouts, it's still a good idea to keep a device that uses a cheststrap around.

I am pretty happy with the watch, it was a gift. I feel it is more geared towards running than overall fitness. There are a couple areas that I think it could be improved on. The backlight is pretty dim and it's kinda bulky. It does track steps well and heart rate, but there are probably others out there that do the same.

I read many reviews before purchasing. Most assessed the Fitbit Surge as a great all-round fitness watch even though it may not excell in any one area - and I have to agree. The many features listed all worked well and I love that it is water proof and has a 5-day battery life (which gives Surge an edge over some of it's competitors), and the heart rate monitor perform well. I was also pleasantly surprised to find concerns raised on YouTube such as "backlight not functioning", and unable to easily return "home" to the watch face, where no problems at all - the backlight worked as expected (touch the face in low light conditions to activate the backlight), and to return to home/clock, just press the single side button twice and you return home from any function. All in all, I'm very pleased with the purchase. I hope Fitbit will provide a few more watchface alternatives in the future to keep it fresh.

Gave as a gift. Not only does it receive texts the heart monitor will know when you are not wearing it. The exercise portion when used correctly is really accurate and measures progress. It has different settings and counts calories, steps, miles etc. recommend for those that are always on the go, as it also notifies you of calls and let's you see text messages. The screen size is great for men...looks stylish. Person who I gave gift to loved it.

I first purchased a fitbit charge tracker. I still use it everyday and I love it. However, when it is time to run or bike I strap on the fitbit surge. When I go out to run it uses GPS to track my distance. It also pretty accurately tracks my heart data. When I run inside on the treadmill it counts my steps. So far there is a little difference between what the treadmill says and my watch. In any case I love all fitbit products. They've just made me constantly aware that I need to be more active. So far I've lost 10 pounds.

Great product. Long battery life. Accurate. Uses GPS to track running. Easy to read. Long-time apple product aficionado but not tempted by the apple watch. Love this fitbit surge.

This fitness watch works great. I'm able to track my steps, activity level, and food intake. One thing I like but didn't find on other reviews, is the fact that I can actually track the calories in I eat out. The Fitbit app has thousands of foods listed with an easy search ability to find the calorie count. I do wish it provided elevation ranges but overall I'm very satisfied.

I have really enjoyed the Surge. The fitbit app is really simple and easy to use and provides just enough information for my exercise activity. Battery life is about 4-5 days with 3-4 hours of activity using the GPS. The GPS locks on much quicker now after the latest update. The heart rate monitor is spot on. Hopeful they will include email notification as some point in the future.

This is a nice tracker for steps, calorie burn, stairs climbed, distance, and of course heartbeat. Does a great job-- very cool to see your heartbeat all day! Plus, for workouts I can see if I'm running too hard. Overall, it is great! The two negatives are that you always need to be wearing this (obviously), so that leads to negative number two: you then don't wear any other watch.

It works for what I need it to, which is track runs, yoga, kickboxing, Pilates. I like the heart rate monitor which has worked accurately consistently. The floor tracking is not very accurate. My biggest beef is that it is not waterproof -- there goes tracking any swimming I do. My second biggest beef it its size. I am 5'6" 126 lbs & the body is much bigger than I would prefer.

Little big but comfortable...will take some getting used to. The product arrived a week earlier than the estimated ship date and was packaged securely. Band is comfortable and I love the fact it has a normal watch latch. The Flex constantly fell off my wrist.

Very light weight for all its capabilities, including GPS and built in heart rate monitor (without a chest band). Is pre-programmed for virtually all flavors of gym fitness machines, and lets you specify a personal heart rate range to monitor and set fitness goals. Only minor issue is that it seems to take a bit for heart rate to stabilize while exercising.

I have had my Surge for a couple of months, I really enjoy keeping track of my steps and floors daily and has helped me loose wait and get in better shape. The heart rate monitor is pretty accurate and if you measure your stride so is the mileage monitor. The only draw back is that is a bit bulky and I work in the yard a lot and have cracked the face of the watch.

I love this watch, It is really easy to use it, is comfortable, looks nice and I Iike the fact of checking my records on my PC. I didn't realize my sleeping patters until I got this watch, it tells me how long I sleep, if i woke up or if I was restless. On average the battery last about 5 to 6 days but when I use the GPS setting when marking a trail, it tends to use more battery. Over all I love this watch.

I bought this watch to rmanage my heart rate during workouts and wear as an everyday watch. I will say that It's very comfortable and light, does what it says it's going to do and is very sleek looking. Negatives are it's slight bulk size (not weight) wise and having to remember to charge it every couple of days...just part of wearing such a device i guess.

I have had this for about a month now. So far it works great. Easy to understand and the iPhone app is awesome. My biggest concern is how long it will last. I would always recommend getting the extended warranty on any of these trackers because I have had quite a few and so far I haven't found any that last very long. Oh, and it is not water proof. It says not to wear it in the shower.

Fitbit charge does what is advertised. I found it tracks steps and reads heart rate quit accurately. The only issue I faced was with the battery life. It's suppose to give 5-7 day charge however mine didn't last for more than two days. But once to changed heart rate monitor setting to auto, it was fixed :) overall very happy with my purchase.
