Customers are saying

Customers admire the Zip Wireless Activity Tracker's ease of use, small size, and accurate step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate its motivational features and find it reasonably priced. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and a display that can be difficult to read as drawbacks. The limited feature set compared to more expensive models is also a recurring concern.

Good as a step tracker for walkers

I used zip tracker diligently from date of purchase in Sept. 2014 to Jan 2015. My goal was to walk 10,000 steps/day. It was good for that purpose. It also keeps track of time and calories burned. Instructions are available at the Fitbit website however they do not display properly because of overlapping of graphics and text. Also, they are not very accurately written for the zip model. If you sync the zip to your pc, like I did, the Fitbit dashboard displays nicely and I found it motivating. Another drawback is I have to tap the zip model several times, every time I want to check my progress with steps taken. This model could be improved by displaying the steps automatically or intuitively since that is what I am using it for.

    Broke with the first bump

I was loving this tracker. It seemed very accurate, easy to use and simple to wear. It is very tiny and can hide nicely on any belt or waistband. The clip was very sturdy. Sadly the first time the clip fell off my pants the tracker broke - now useless. I hate warranty packages but I would highly recommend it for this item, especially if you hope it will last more than 2 months. And the USB that hooks into the computer broke when I accidently bumped the edge of the computer on the desk. CHEAP componets. I much as I thing the quality is poor I am tempted to purchase another one. good luck.

    A mini motivator

I bought the fitbit after doing a little research online and after deciding that I needed to become more motivated to exercise. I have been amazed at how much my fitbit keeps me on track. After setting it up online and starting to track my progress I now make sure that I am walking between 7500-10000 steps a day and also, with the integrated fitbit website, tracking calories and other activities. This is an amazing product at a great price. I am passing this one on a member of my household when the Fitbit One becomes available in November.

    Not bad for the price

I wore out my original fitbit and decided to try the zip. I only kept it for a week. If you can't afford the higher end models, I suggest getting this but if you can, pay the difference and get the better model. Pro's: The price is very reasonable. It's designed to do pretty much most of what the other models do. Cool colors to pick from. Cons: It was tedious going from one screen to the next to view your stats. It was supposed to take a tap but I was afraid of breaking it because it was taking several attempts to get to just the next screen. There was no back light that I could find to view in the dark. I didn't find it as comfortable to wear on my bra as I had the previous model that I had. I didn't like that it didn't have a rechargeable battery.

We bought the 2 pack for a great price. My husband and I use them and can challenge each other to help stay motivated. I clip it on in the morning and don't even know it's there until I check my step and calorie count later in the day. Easy to use and works great with the free app.

I absolutely love this device. I had been using a cheap (under $10.00) pedometer. This is so much more accurate, and has so many features, that I am never without it. Also, it has been a great motivator, getting me to go out and walk every time I can squeeze in a few steps. If I lost it, I would get another as quickly as I could.

I bought this as a gift for my friend. She loves it because it gets the job done in helping her meet her fitness goals. She doesn't need all the bells and whistles that other activity trackers give. The basic functions of this Fitbit is enough and with its price, I really cannot complain. I am tempted to get one for myself, too.

Bought this for my mother so that she could see all the steps she takes throughout her day. Excellent way to keep track of movement and, when used with the fitbit app, can give a nice comprehensive report of your week's steps. The fitbit app makes it a much more useful and fun tool.

Easy and simple to you, whether you use the phone app or not. I was debating between the Zip and the Flex, I do wish I splurged and got the flex since the Zip does not seem to calculate stairs.

    Very good, Wrong battery indicator

    Posted .

This device is excellent, the only downside I have noticed so far is that the battery life indicator doesn't seem to be very accurate, several times already the battery indicator has told me battery was almost depleted just to show "full" status the next day, this is perhaps why so many people here have reported low life battery issues, yesterday I even got a low battery level e-mail, but today it's showing full again? not sure if it is reporting an erroneous full status or the other way around actually, time will tell. All other aspects of the device work as expected, it is very accurate when it comes to counting steps, it tells you steps, distance, calories and the time it is. it doesn't look cheaply made and even the package gives it a premium feel when you first open it, and it comes with a cover which is also the belt clip at the same time. it is also very small in size, so I would suggest putting it on your pocket, even though it has a clip it could be easily lost.

This was a gift but she told me she loved it. She didn't want something to wear on her wrist. Small enough to just clip on her belt buckle or arm band.

    Decent, but short battery life

We purchased 10 of these for employees. Units themselves easy to use, but some online features never quite work (for instance, only 2 of the 10 have been able to successfully upload profile pic). We also had been told we could do different challenges via FitBit, but that didn't pan out, so we had to create and handle our own. Biggest issue is battery life. Within 1 month, 1 unit died. Within 2 months, 4 more died. I contacted manufacturer after 2nd one failed (we exchanged 1st at BestBuy). They said we all needed to upgrade to latest version of software -- those who did saw their batteries quickly die. After numerous emails, they finally mailed us 5 replacement batteries. Not a huge expense, but for cost of the units, we expected better than typical pedometer. Apparently the higher end Fitbits are re-chargeable.

I had my first Fitbit Zip for a little over a year then the battery started running down every couple of weeks. I contacted the company who eventually replaced it. I've had the new one for a month and the battery is starting to do the same. I'm on my second battery in a week. I do love the fitbit but not happy with battery. May have to look at one that can be charged.

I love My Fitbit Zip. It seems like a lot of money to spend on a step counter but once you download the app and start tracking your food and water intake, etc., connecting with friends to root each other on it becomes a very worthwhile purchase. I already own this one but bought another for my friend for Christmas.
