Customers are saying

Customers admire the Zip Wireless Activity Tracker's ease of use, small size, and accurate step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate its motivational features and find it reasonably priced. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and a display that can be difficult to read as drawbacks. The limited feature set compared to more expensive models is also a recurring concern.

Good for a beginner to track steps

This is a great pedometer for a beginner who only wants to track steps. It is easy to forget you have it on or that it is in your pocket, making it easy to accidentally wash it with your clothes. Good value for the money. I washed it once and it still works.

I was an early adopter with the Fitbit Ultra. Once it died I got the new Fitbit Zip. After a year of learning that I don't get enough sleep, I just focused on getting more steps in my day. It's a nice little piece that I can drop in my pocket or clip on a belt. It stays put and I can see how much or how little I've done easily just by touching the screen. It also syncs with my android phone!

Apparently, this doesn't work on gym equipment.

It works but when calling fitbit to ask how it works, they said this doesn't work while on machines such as elliptical and treadmills. And, with best buys horrible return policy, I can't return it. Fitbit did say theyll see what they can do if I want to exchange this for something more expensive...I'll see.

If I could have a 0 I would. Bought on 12/21/15. Today on 1/2/16 the tracker fell out of the case. Fit bit said they would give me a 25% discount on a new one. DON'T BUY THIS.

I've lost 2 - they pop out of holder

I would have given this a 5 star review but this is the second one that I've purchased because twice the fitbit has fallen out of it's older. Once while shopping and the other time while moving boxes. I love the fitbit but I can't afford to replace them everytime I am active and it get's bumped. The clip holder needs to be made of sturdier plastic. I am so disappointed. It is a great tool but the holder is useless.

This gadget appears to work off of vibration from walking or running. It will not work when cycling. I have to wonder about its accuracy. I sent it back.

Tremendous value when purchased together. You save 20.00 over retail if purchased separately. The fitbit has changed my life, in addition to tracking your steps; you can also input calories online and track that as well.

Bad product amplified by worse customer service

I bought the zip, and 2 days later, it was returned. Day 1: Set it up, got it synced, and should have been ready to go. It then counted a thousand steps I took while on the drive to work. And due to the horribly poor website, you can't delete steps. (or anything at all, but more on that later) Day 2: It decides to not work. At all. Nothing. So, I take the battery out, and put it back in. It turns on. Works for the morning, and syncs fine. Then, the afternoon, nothing. It's still on, and counting, but will not sync. I email support. And hear nothing back. So, back to the store it goes. After it's already back at Best Buy, I recieve a support email. telling me to take the battery out. I let them know that I tried that, and had already returned it. I asked them to delete the zip from my fitbit account, seeing as nothing is able to be deleted. Even though the zip I had was in a shopping cart of returns at best buy, the page was telling me I needed to sync!! Well, they cannot delete anything either. I was told if I synced another tracker, it would replace that one. Yeah, not falling for that. I'm quite dissapointed. As I bought the Fitbit Aria scale also, and am quite pleased with it. And I was reluctant to take the time to come review this, until I recived an email asking how happy I was that they solved my issues. So, maybe I got a bad unit. Some bad customer service, or it wasn't my day. But I would most definately not reccomend this product.

I had a issue not being able to find my fitbit zip they offered to replace it if I couldn't find it. There aren't many companies that would do that. Just amazing. As for the zip I love it :-) ♥

If you're not into wearing watch style trackers then this is a good one for you. It also has a replaceable battery so no need to charge every week.

I received one of these for a program that work was doing as part of a new "get fit" program. Setup was easy, but the accuracy of steps tracked was terrible. 5 of us decided to do a little experiment and walk the same distance at lunch one day. I know not everyone takes the same size steps, but some of the numbers were off by over 30%. Some people still wear theirs out of habit, mine sits unused. I'm still waiting for a better alternative.

    Very disappointed

I was so excited to see a fitbit product at a cheaper price. My ultra got wet and stopped working and I didn't want to spend $100 so I bought the fitbit zip. I was so disappointed with it. I didn't like the size, I thought it was too big and I didn't like the fact that you had to tap it to see your different items - steps, calories, etc. You have to tap it at exactly the right place and I didn't feel like that would work long term. I just felt like the quality of the product wasn't where I wanted it to be. I returned it and will buy the new fitbit ultra.

    Waste of Money

the fitbit zip seems to be a piece of junk. I have only had mine a few weeks and now nothing works right. The time may or may not be right, it may or may not respond to taps. Sometimes it will sync, but often it won't. Worst of all is when it loses the steps you have taken midday. From reading what others have gone through it seems as though all of this is common among users. Total waste of money!

I have the Ultra. I didn't think I needed the sleep tracking capabilities so when the Zip came out I figure save money and get the same stuff without the sleep tracker. However, the tapping is abit iffy, you can't see the info very well unless it's in a well lit area. I have an iPhone 4S and it would not connect with my bluetooth. Maybe it was a faulty Zip but after 3 days of trying to connect it. I returned it and stuck with my Ultra. I'm waiting for the ONE to come out in a couple weeks instead.
