Having the floatation device attached to the camera makes me feel a lot better knowing that it won't sink to the bottom of the ocean in case I do lose it, it slips or is dropped. The velcro strap that goes around the waterproof housing does get in the way of the buttons on the side making shooting a little harder and navigating through the camera. I attach a string to the base of the flotation device to wrap around my wrist for extra support.

The float mount works well. A bit odd to setup, but Sony wants to make sure you will not lose your sports cam. The yellow float makes it easy to spot, even in the sun.

I dropped my action can in the pool and thought if there was something to make this camera float if I drop it in the beach or other water, it works but it's bulky

One must test the water before diving straight in. You see we purchased this along with the Sony action cam for our outings on our boat. Water proof and it floats! Or so they claim. On with the factual evidence. On our family's first outing with the new Sony action cam and floatation device our camera was attached to the starboard windshield the seas were fairly calm with a few small waves. As we entered the channel other boats were passing and we engaged the waves as we always have. And after the second or thirwave my son said dad the camera has jarred loose. Immediately I reduced power and watched in amazement a Sony action WITH its suction cup mount and floatations device bounced off of the gunnel. No worries it floats Or so we were led to believe but we all gazed overboard as the bright yellow Sony floatation device with our new Sony action cam sunk like a torpedo struck battleship out of sight. Well no problem when we return I will call Sony and they will take care of it. Wrong! Nothing was to be done for us . So I guess Go Pro will receive my money and support!!!

Great product for my Sony cam. My only issue is I did not notice a screw to secure the device to my camera. For the cost it should be included.

This totally beats using a plastic bottle! A must for any water activities!

Floats well although cam wasn't knocked off yet on my surfboard or body board. The yellow color is a good contract in the water

This is a great accessory that is needed to go with your Sony Action Camera. If you have the Sony action camera, you should definitely pick this up.

it sinks. how is that a floatable device? I got it on sale, and I'm glad I did. Not a good idea to invest in this. Don't do it.....

Much better design than the prior floatie... very solid and secure. A must for all Sony Action Cams!
