    One of McCartney's best

This album was one of the better efforts by McCartney, aided by his collaboration with Elvis Costello. A bonus is the extra disk which includes several Costello collaborations which did not make the cut to be included on the album.

Bought it as an Elvis Costello fan. Has the best of the Costello-related demos (the other Costello demos can be found on YouTube and aren't interesting).

    Paul offers beautiful flowers!

"Flowers In The Dirt" brings back such great memories. It was Paul McCartney's best album since "Tug Of War" (7 years earlier) - and it prompted his first American tour since 1976! This package is chock-full of Paul's most inventive songs - "My Brave Face," "Figure Of Eight," "This One," "Put It There" - just to name a few. Also, Elvis Costello's presence seemed to push Paul beyond some of the mediocrity he offered on "Press To Play" (the previous album). The Best-Buy bonus 45 is also worth it, because the non-album "b" side ("Flying To My Home") is a good song in itself - I really wish it was one of the "extras" on the c.d. The demos are certainly worth hearing - they give us McCartney die-hards more reason to believe that this man is truly a 20th cenury genius!

    One of Sir Paul's best

Amid all the 80s mish-mash of overproduced schlock Paul McCartney comes out with a pleasant breath of fresh air (largely due to assistance from co-writer Elvis Costello).Probably his best effort since Band On The Run or Tug Of War. 'My Brave Face' harkens back to the good old days of Beatlemania. 'Put It There' is a jovial pop jumpy tune of sugary sweetness.'Figure Of Eight' rings in like an elusive piece of wistful well intentioned showmanship. Like before , the 80s were full of one hit wonders but this one is a diamond in the rough.......

Great album...really a gem of the 80's for McCartney. The archive release program has been great if not a little slow. Best Buy exclusives are always welcome...this one has a special limited edition 7 inch single.. Back to the album, fantastic album catching McCartney on the cusp of his big comeback tour. Who can forget the gem My Brave Face, this version has a 2nd disk of the original demos that McCartney and Elvis Costello worked on for this and his next album (and Elvis's).

Paul McC has some great music. Much of it is on this album. So happy and upbeat. Each song is different. It's a product of its time, back when music was fun and inoffensive. (Isn't that what music should be?) Our 4 year old LOVES every song and, unlike contemporary music, theres nothing inappropriate for her young ears. We're SO glad we finally got this album. We're just sorry we didn't get it sooner. If you want happy upbeat music that's fun to listen to, BUT THIS CD! :-)

Paul McCartney seems to do his best work when he works with a collaborator. Here, several tracks are featured co-written by Paul and Elvis Costello, his best writing partner since John Lennon. Though already a great album as released in 1989, and featuring four such collaborations, the bonus disk includes several more, some of which were included on both men's later separate albums. These were demos but so well done they justify the cost of purchase alone.

5 stars for the music as I am a forever Paul McCartney fan and am loving having his albums remastered with modern technology. The added delight is having the unreleased demos, and hearing a song evolve. I love that Best Buy has these special promotions - this time a 7" vinyl - as I love to be able to get something special along with the album. I always wait to see what Best Buy's offering will be before buying it anywhere else. Highly recommended!

The Flowers in the Dirt remix is incredibly clear and the best part is the demo recordings. This is arguably the best reason to purchase this release. It is wonderful to hear these clean demo recordings with Paul and Elvis. There are also other demos which did not make it to the album and it is great to hear Paul's music evolve as a result of his collaboration with Elvis Costello. Highly recommended.

Sir Paul gives the upgrade to this CD that originally came out June 5, 1989. It's great to have an updated edition of this fine release and the copy I got comes with a 2nd (bonus) disc that is original demos. As a Best Buy exclusive I also received a 7 inch vinyl single of My Brave Face. The flip side contains a song called Flying To My Home. Thank you Best Buy for offering this collectors item!

While I am a Beatles fan since 1964, I can't say the same for Paul. I buy his releases to keep the collection current. Actually, I bought this to get the free vinyl single ( which I ordered ). I did however, play the discs and while better than some of his others, it ain't the Beatles. It is better than then some. I would recommend it only because of his past association with the Beats and he needs the bread to buy back his songs.

Paul McCartney album Flowers in the Dirt is the best album ever. All of the tracks are remastered and sounded much bigger, better, and louder than it was when it was first released in 1989. Disc 2 has all the unreleased track and some demos. The Deluxe Edition is the must have for your Paul McCartney Collection.

Although one of McCartney's better post-'70's solo/Wings efforts, it's probably not in his top 5 overall. That being said, the addition of the second disk in this set gives some interesting insights into the creative process that created this album so it's worth buying for the sonic upgrade and for the second disk. The Best Buy-only addition of a to-be-redeemed 45" single makes this a further reason to order this.

This is not a Paul McCartney album I was familiar with; somehow, I just missed it! After reading about it and listening to some audio samples, I decided to purchase the deluxe 2-CD version. I'm enjoying most of the songs, and even the demos on the bonus CD. Listening to McCartney and Elvis Costello sing together makes me think they should have recorded a joint album!

This product contained a code to use on-line to obtain a vinyl single only available through the McCartney "Flowers in the Dirt" CD purchase exclusively from Best Buy. The CDs came lightening fast as did the 45s. Kudos McCartney & Best Buy for this cool offering!

The remastered original album on disc #1 is great, but the disc #2 with demos is simply amazing. The harmonies sung by McCartney & Costello are super. Often the "bonus disc" songs in reissue packages get a bit tiresome, but disc #2 in this set is a gem!

I bought this edition of Flowers In The Dirt solely for the demos co-featuring Elvis Costello -- and that material alone is worth the price. The selections and sound quality are gratifying. I wish all the recordings they made together were available.
