Button are programmable through the app so cell phone would be needed to do that. I do believe though that the controller would work without cell phone just would be a default button setup.

I also enhances the flying experience of the mini drone by increasing the flying distance of your drone.

Not adaptive to all drones

It was not. We did not use the remote as it was intended so cannot provide anything useful other than be careful with adaptability of the unit.
