The gameplay in this game is fantastic! Be warned though, if you aren't willing to put in time to learn how to do combos you will not enjoy this game. The things that really drag the game down are no dedicated servers, and the ridiculously slow progression to unlock skins, which artificially stretches the game out. It's a shame I can't use a particular pattern on my armor without investing six hundred hours or some other obscure amount of time. I would recommend this game on a sale of $40 or less.

I love this game. I play it everyday and it is always challenging when using a different character. This game isn't just button mashing, it takes actual skill to play this. Once you learn a character and start using that character frequently you will be able to destroy anyone online.
Also, the campaign is legit! It was a little lengthy but it was entertaining. The campaign is coop so you can play it with a friend.
Overall, the game is dope and I'll continue playing it and look forward to what the season pass has in store for me.

Ignore all the negative reviews! If your a fan of sword fights and dont want a generic button mashing game then get this game!
REALISM!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally have practiced martial arts with weapons training. Watching some (its a game and bound to have a unrealistic move or two to be flashy but in real life would leave you open to a death blow) of my moves come to life on screen with great accuracy in armor design, weapons, and attacks.
WHY GOLD?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got the Gold Edition because of the Samurai Date clan emblem. If you want to read a cool samurai biography look up Date Masamune. Not only do I get some cool gear but I get the season pass (gives access early to all new content and DLC)
LONG STORY SHORT!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are a history guru on culture of vikings, knights, or samurai this is for you. (GO TEAM SAMURAI!!!)
If you just like slashing things while feeling you have skill and arent just mashing a button this is for you.
If you are a combat guru of any kind this is for you.
If you just want a good game for playing online or alone, and being able to play it over and over, this is for you.

I played both the closed and open beta and was genuinely impressed.
Campaign was fun, it did prove a challenge on the hardest difficulty! A.I's honestly block all your attacks no matter how crazy your combos are. But nonetheless fun. (Except the freaking boss with wolf's. Screw that guy!!)
Multi-player is a grind. Which can be fun or just plain out frustrating. You really need to two things: 1. master a single character 2.find a excellent group. Grinding can be fun if you have those elements. Otherwise it sucks being ganked by 3 guys with crazy levels.
My only complaint is the micro transactions. I really hate how ubisoft kinda-but-not-really made this a pay to win game. Play for 8 hrs to get x amount of silver or just Pay $5 for the silver. Smh.
Overall I love this game... As long as I keep winning, I don't really see myself playing something else.

A really fun game, cool concept, and solid mechanics. For Honor gives you a choice of Samurai, Knight, or Viking factions which you earn in game war assets for (has no effect on your personal progression). The style of game is fresh and could get some players from other AAA titles (COD, Battlefield, Overwatch, etc.) to crossover for some fresh gameplay outside of the FPS realm. However, Ubisoft continues to let down their customers with lackluster support via servers or lack there of (peer to peer), customer service, and not caring. When I purchased the gold and redeemed the season pass none of the bonus items showed up. It's now March 15, a little over a month passed purchase and download date, i've contacted support AT LEAST 3 times and "apparently" it was just resolved. I haven't checked because I just looked at my email but after my experience with them I take their support service responses with a grain of salt. All in all, really fun game, just have to tolerate Ubisoft's negligence to their customers and player base.

This game is really fun. I would recommend it to anyone. The one frustrating thing is the Ubisoft servers fail sometimes when playing PVP and you lose your rewards/progress.

it took a while to get used to. its incredibly frustrating at first, learning how to move and battle other players takes a little while. you have to really take into account the style character you choose and learning their strengths and weaknesses. the multiplayer modes are fun but limited, hopefully there's more game modes in the future. great graphics and gameplay, the game's about as good as i had expected.

For Honor is a pretty good game, but its multiplayer shines when there's no disconnection problems. Regarding multiplayer, connection errors are common but its nothing huge compared to the fun you'll be having. Be warned, this is a skill based game so there is a learning curve.

I would have to say my biggest/only issue with the game is the CONSTANT disconnection, my day is hit or miss, sometimes i can play games some days ill get disconnect from game until i get extremely annoyed and stop playing, I have open NAT but still disconnect, but seems i may not be the only one with the issue, aside from that i LOVE the game, great story mode and great for online play when i am able to.
This is one of those games where bad team mates will make you HATE the game!! Good team mates are EXTREMELY CRUCIAL for this game! sometimes you get lucky sometimes they all suck lol but would still recommend the game despite everything.
If the disconnect issue gets fixed ill give this game 5 stars

This game has very great graphics. The tutorial really gets you into the mechanics of the game. You will apply everything that you've learned from the tutorial, while you are in the middle of a battle.

Great mash-up of 3rd person action game and high skill fighter. Lots of variety in heros with tons of customizations. Always online fun multiplayer with an interesting faction war meta game. Very fun game if you put in the time to hone your skills.

The story is admittedly absurd, but the combat is pretty darned good. Grinding currency can take a bit longer than it probably should, but other than that highly recommendable game.

So far, I'm enjoying the combat mechanics, which after pretty intuitive once you go through the tutorial and have the depth a lot of melee-based games lack.
The two main issues so far are the unstable Internet connection (worst reliability I've had in an XBox One game by far), and the story mode is really barebones and somewhat nonsensical, which is a huge disappointment.
