To be honest, Damon's best work since 'The Martian". Bale is as unlikable as ever as the driver for Le Mans, Damon's character has heart trouble and has to deal with the politics rather the race. Damon is the car and engine designer for the Le Mans race for Ford after a deal for For Ford to buy Ferrari falls through.

was a purchase before Brick and mortar stores stopped carrying physical media like blu ray to embrace the looming digital corporate dystopia and censorship.

As a Car Guy this film hits all the emotions. Best sound mix ever. Ive watched this so many times. If you have not seen it and not really a car person. Dont worry, there is great screen play and character building (as I have watched with people who would not normally see this title and watch it) ended up loving it!

What can I say about this movie… it’s freaking amazing. I watch it at least once a year and it never ceases to amaze me. The visual and especially the audio it’s you in every scene. This is by far the best automobile movie I think that has ever come out.

I first rented this movie on Blu-Ray and loved it. I'm not necessarily a Ford or Ferrari fan, but I thought Matt Damon and Christian Bale did a fabulous job and played so well off each other. I bought this movie in 4K when it went on sale Black Friday. It looked and sounded great in Blu-Ray DTS-MA 7.1. But the 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos is by far better. The picture is much sharper and better color saturation. Couple that with an OLED and you can't lose. The Atmos is where the 4K shines. From the overall sounds of the race cars on the track to inside the cars racing, it puts you there inside the car. But the one scene that blew me away was at the show announcing the Mustang and Shelby flew the plane across the crowd. With the Atmos and 4 height speakers it sounded just like the actual plane just buzzed my house. WOW! I knew the scene was coming and it was OK with DTS-MA 7.1, but it actually startled me this time as I never expected it to be that realistic. Worth the price of the 4K.

A great movie, with relatively little changing of the real events for Hollywood. If you never knew of this feud between Ford and Ferrari, or just love a great auto-centric story this is a must! Product condition was perfect on arrival. With how hit or miss streaming access can be, I'm still gathering Blu-ray movies.

My mother, who knows nothing of cars, even loved this movie. I explained the history as it was truncated in the movie. She just dug it.

I enjoyed this movie more than I expected! Excellent writing and acting. The race sequences put me on the edge of my seat. I found the historical significance quite interesting. It's a special value with the Blu-ray Disc included.

If your a car guy, this movie absolutely delivers. Incredible sound with nice amount of rumble bass if you have a capable system. Picture is nice and 4K sharp. Overall, a nice movie to add in your 4K collection.

I love this movie and the history behind it! The 4k quality is good and the Dolby atmos sounds as the car is fired up and racing around is good.

This is probably the most excited I’ve been to watch a 2019 movie since Endgame. As a car guy, I was very eager to see Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles on the big screen, portraying the relationship of two friends putting their passions and knowledges together to design a performance car for Ford to rival Ferrari at Le Mans 66. Without spoiling it for those who don’t know the story, this film does very well developing its characters, and making the audience feel for the characters during tough times, as if they were themselves. There was not a scene in the movie that I felt was flat or bland, or like it was missing something. The bond between Ken Miles and his son is such a beautiful thing as well. It’s such a remarkable story to tell, and the film does a very respectable job portraying the events and battles of this journey. Matt Damon’s and Christian Bale’s performances were nothing short of stellar, as to be expected. If you like cars, and true-story movies, this one is a no-brainer. Overall, I was very impressed. As for technicalities in quality, I can say the image on the Ultra-HD disc was very sharp and punchy, but there was no wow-factor, or anything that was in-your-face impressive. But the clarity and detail was certainly not lacking. Given the type of movie it is, it doesn’t have explosions or vivid colors to showcase the capabilities of HDR. Dark scenes show plenty of shadow detail, while still maintaining smooth gradation and deep contrast. A great example is the scene where Miles and his son are sitting outside in front of a sunset, telling him about “the perfect lap.” That scene really shines in HDR. This film is, however, a 2K digital intermediate, upscaled to 4K for the disc, which most likely explains why the sharpness wasn’t quite as intense as some native 4K presentations, but still impressive nonetheless. The source material has plenty of detail stored, as the movie was predominantly shot in 4.5K resolution. Sound quality was crisp and bassy, but I can’t say there was a huge benefit of having Dolby Atmos, over the regular 5.1 or 7.1. Racing scenes had some pretty cool surround effects, but there weren’t really any overhead effects, since there simple weren’t any overhead scenes in the movie to give those types of sounds. Overall, it’s a fantastic movie, but the 4K disc was not given its full potential, simply because of the 2K intermediate. I would still buy it in Ultra-HD for the other benefits of the format, however (10 bit color, wider color gamut, higher bitrate, and Dolby Atmos (for the small amount of effects that the movie does have).
