This is one of my favorite movies I would recommend it to anybody

I love most of Stuart Gordon's 1990's stuff (like SPACE TRUCKERS and his segment on NECRONOMICON) and this is no exception. It is amazing to think that Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally going to do this (after his stunt-double [who played Thorgrin on CONAN) showed him RE-ANIMATOR) with a MUCH bigger budget. Alas, he had to pull out, and with him went most of the budget. Even so, a tremendous amount of credit has to go to Gordon and his staff on pulling off such ambitious FX with such a low budget. With a decent plot, acting, FX work and pacing, FORTRESS is quite entertaining. If there were any complaints it would be the bare-bones presentation, as while the menu is better designed than Warner's generic menus on their recent releases (such as OUTLAND and BRAINSTORM), it would still be nice if the film itself had a bit of remastering work, as well as a commentary and a trailer (even a behind-the-scene on the FX would have been nice). Regardless, for $6.00 it's a steal.

I enjoy watching Christopher Lambert and the movies he has been a part of. Fortress is one of my favorites of his. You won't be disappointed.
