It was really easy to set up. It took me no more than 15 minutes. The quality of the image is great and very wide. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because some times the pictures it e-mails you when motion is detected are a little blurry if there is a moving subject.

This is a solid little camera. I mount it in my hallway to keep an eye on the dogs when I'm away. It works well in both daylight and darkness. The image quality is good for the small area I have it in.

Horrible connectivity

Connecting the foscam c1 is a horrible experience. First it would only connect when it is wired, if you want to switch it to wireless it takes a ton of work. You can't do this from their mobile app, you have to install a plugin in Safari or Firefox to do this. Next the camera only gets wireless G connectivity, but their mobile app shows you N and AC networks when you are trying to connect so can get stuck trying to connect endlessly. Lastly, their support is horrible, its outsourced to india and they are no help. Lastly, when I connected it to my Synology NVR the camera looks like its recording but the files are corrupted and show just green signal pattern and pixelation for the entire video. If you're looking for a easy to use camera that can record to a network recorder then stay AWAY from this camera. In all area's this camera and company disappoints. I am returning it and wish I could get back the 10 hours of my life wasted on this device.

This unit gets a lot of bad reviews on various, but I'm not really sure why. The video quality is good and nice field of view. Its not too pricey. Also, the set up took me all of 15 minutes. The last foscam I got (which I still have) was a little bit of a pain to set up, I needed to call the tech support and it took hours. I was dreading this set up, but I was able to get on my wireless and set up my DDNS so that I could use TinyCam Pro.
The only draw back to this, is when it takes pictures an e-mails it to you when you have motion detection on, it tends to blur moving objects. So like a person moving, their face might not be as clear in all the shots. But as far as live view goes, its pretty slick.
