I purchased the Fosi Audio Box X5 for use with my Fluance RT85 turntable. The turntable is equipped with an Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge and I used the 38db and MM settings on the Fosi Box X5. A Denon X3300W was used as a preamp for my Bryston 6B SST powering my JBL HDI 3800 speakers. This combo led to a clear presentation of the records that I have listened to so far. Ironic as it may sound, I would say that the records I listened to all sounded just like the CD. This is not surprising if you look at the other reviews where the Box X5 has been measured in regards to noise and RIAA eq. Setting up and using the Box X5 is simple. You just set the knobs on the back as needed based on your cartridge and use the button on the front to turn the unit on or off. The unit is powered by an AC power supply and I like that the brick portion is in the center of the wire, allowing the plug to not block adjacent power connections. In summary, I would say that the performance offered by the Box X5 cannot be beat for the price and the unit is easy to setup and use.
