One of the best High School football movies ever made. Looks good and sounds good on the 4K TV and Sony 4K player! Nearing the 20th Anniversary for this movie, I say take a look at this one, perhaps on a Friday Night for the feel of it when football games were played during the season. Menu is good and easy selections. I do recommend!

Excellent series of a high school football team in Texas. I had never seen the series. I enjoyed Friday Night Lights.

Now classic football flick that also had a wonder television series of the same name. Definitely worth the upgrade.

I didn't purchase this movie but did like it. We watched as a family.

This movie is not so much about football as it is a small, economically depressed town in west Texas and its relationship with a high school football team. The team is all the town has and knows. The kids walk around emulating the players and wearing their jerseys, and talk radio revolves around high school football. Life is good when the team wins, and not so good when it loses. Everyone in the town is effected by it. Billy Bob Thornton is a solid performance as Coach Gaines but Tim McGraw was the performance stealer! Highly recommended and not just solely for sports fans.

Growing up in Texas and playing football, I knew all about Permian and their tradition. The movie doesn't follow exactly what happened (they played Carter in the semi-finals, in Austin. Carter won on the last play, in a rain storm) but the movie tells a great story of how vitally important high school football is in Texas. The actors were outstanding and the movie was enjoyable from start to finish.

This film has to be one of the best football films ever made. This is a story that shows a lot of heart in its players from a failing oil town, where football makes them gods within their community, but that does not protect each individual from their own paths of self destruction, and triumph.

Overall, it was a great movie. I'm not a huge football fan, but you don't have to be to enjoy this movie. It has a great cast and a really down to earth, small town vibe, and it was really good. Billy Bob Thornton was great in this role, probably one of his best.

I don't usually watch football movies or sports movies. But, my son wanted to watch it for a school report. It was an exciting and interesting movie. I have now watch 3 more sports/football movie. Awesome!!!

Billy Bob performs well in a movie that is based upon a true story. Motivates the team and its leaders to perform to high expectations. The movie is suspenseful and exciting all the way to the end.

Well impressed and job well done. Tim McGraw does outstanding performance in this movie. A must see and bring your Kleenex ...... You will need it !!!!!

I love the movie and then the tv series that transpired out of the same story line. This is a movie I can watch over and over again.

I love this movie - it's got everything - there is something hypnotic about it. Touching and tough at the same time.

Although some parts were filmed for Hollywood purposes, I still love this movie...makes me miss high school football!

The plot of This movie is great. Every coach show his team this movie. Great movies top football movies every made.

Good movie though I would not recommend for under 16. Awkward for us old people. Other than that we quite enjoyed

Better than expected for a Sports Movie. This was something more. And, the BluRay + DVD combo made this a Great Value.

This is a good movie, and one that you can watch more than just once and enjoy. It's both funny and dramatic, and paints a poignant picture of growing up in a football culture, and of high school in general.
