One of my fav Jason movies although they geared of course with a dress up Jason instead of the normal ugly gross face Jason. But the movie was good, storyline was good and the killing scenes were good as well

Face it, Jason will never die. He will always come back. It's another fun Friday the 13th flick!

This Deluxe Edition of Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning is newly restored and loaded with special features. This sequel is the equivalent to the Friday the 13th series that Halloween III: Season of the Witch was to the Halloween series. I can not really say why because I hate spoilers but any true fan should know what I mean. It has a pretty weak plot and seems to try a little to hard at certain points also. Once again, this series is built on the corniness and ridiculously fun things within. And hey... That’s what makes a Friday the 13th movie a Friday the 13th movie! Also that is why people love it so much. It starts off with young Tommy (Feldman) visiting Jason’s grave which ends up being a dream (yes that is a minor spoiler but not too bad). Now it is 6 years after the events in Final Chapter and Tommy is 18 years old. He has been to mental hospital after mental hospital and now is being transferred to a no-security half way home for young adults. I’m not even sure if it’s supposed to be in the Crystal Lake area, but there is no lake (except for one small scene). It seems like they were just out for money in this sequel because nothing got a chance to really develop before people were starting to get killed off. There are however, some crazy murders in here and loads of breasts, for all you sickos. (jp) This is a great buy and has almost as much special features as Final Chapter does. If you’re a fan and a collector this is for you. ALSO: Feldman is only in that small dream sequence in the opening scene. Complete your collection with the other Deluxe Editions... Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives and the awesome documentary on the long-running series.... His Name was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th Parents are strongly CAUTIONED, this contains material not appropriate for children under 16 years of age (in my opinion).

"Friday the 13th: A New Beginning" is the black sheep of the Jason series, and with good reason. Of all of the movies, this one is the worst as far as introducing characters for the sole purpose of quickly killing them off, and when the ending comes around, it makes even less sense other than to up the body count. The "Deluxe Edition" is a mixed bag. A great featurette on the making of the movies includes interviews with most of the cast, but the commentary leaves something to be desired. While its great to hear star John Sheppard (who once previously refused to acknowledge he was in this movie and is now a born-again), the director sounds likes a dirty old man and rarely talks about anything of substance. I would only recommend to completists.

Still haunted by his gruesome past, Tommy Jarvis - the boy who killed Jason Voorhees - wonders if somehow he is connected to brutal slayings occurring in and around the secluded halfway house where he now lives.
