    Great Microwave for the money

It was easy to install and is easy to use. Replaced a Fridgidaire Microwave that cost $350 seven years ago with this one and it has almost all the same features. Has a nice feature where the exhaust fan turns itself on if your running the microwave for a long time. It will run until it cools the microwave down then shut itself off.

IT WAS EASY TO INSTALL AND I LOVE IT; HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE BRACKET TO HANG IT ON BUT I JUST USED MY OLD ONE FROM THE PREVIOUS MICROWAVE (IT WAS A FRIGIDAIRE AS WELL). GREATLY PRICED AT $199.00

    Kind of cheaply made

I bought an entire suite of appliances for my kitchen a couple of years ago, including this microwave. They were all a package deal. At the time it was all I could afford, and I needed all new appliances. Last week the handle broke on the microwave, first on the top where it attaches to the door, and then with continued use the bottom part cracked. I tore it off so it wouldn't just dangle. I couldn't believe it. My very first microwave I bought in 1983 lasted well over 20 years, and I only upgraded it to get one to put above the stove. They surely don't make these things to last anymore. Highly disappointed. Also the range and dishwasher in this suite of appliances are all about the same quality. Boo.

happy with my new microwave for most part

happy to get my new microwave so fast, I'd really missed having one handy in my home. The new one looks great and installer was very efficient. Model is more efficient than my old one, and cooks food much faster. It does seem a little more cheaply made than previous model, the door especially bothers me, makes noise when I open and shut it, while other one was silent. For the most part I'm very satisfied.

    Fantastic Microwave/Easy Install

We bought this microwave to complete our stainless steel upgrades. It fit perfectly above the stove. The installation was super easy, just make sure to measure 5 times before drilling the holes for it. My only real complaint about the microwave itself is the timer beeps at the end of cooking is a bit longer than I'm used to.

    Good value, annoying features

We purchased this microwave out of desperation when our current microwave died. After many comparisons, we settled on this basic model because of the price. We got a relatively powerful unit, with a decent reputation for reliability, for a relatively inexpensive price. That is the "good" and why I gave it a generous 3 stars. The "bad" is what prompted me to fix our old microwave (a Kenmore) and return it to service. This Fridgidaire is now a backup unit in the basement where it won't annoy me as much. This unit has a "done" beeper that is loud and persistent. It sounds three times when the food is done and continues EVEN WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR! This is annoying. I had even read about this in a review before buying this unit and thought, oh, I can live with that. I'm usually not too picky. As it turns out, yes, I can live with it, but it is annoying nonetheless. There IS one trick that minimizes the annoyance. If you are near the microwave while it is beeping, press "Stop/Cancel" BEFORE opening the door. This will stop the buzzer. But if you open the door first, the beep will do a full three, loud cycles. (Who thought up that design?) And yeah, it's loud. My second gripe is that the door is clunky and loud. Our old microwave opened and closed with very little noise. The "latching mechanism" operated very smoothly. Quite the opposite for this unit. Every time I close it, I feel like I'm slamming it shut. Again, a slight annoyance, but it's something I wish I didn't have to get used to. So, if you want a cheaper microwave and are willing to live with these annoyances (think hard!), this is the unit for you. For something I use on a daily basis, I prefer a better unit.

Microwave seems to heat everything up fine, easy to clean. Only complaint is the buzzard that goes off when its finished heating something up. It is super loud and super looooong! Very annoying!

    great microwave

We bought this microwave since we were buying a new stove and I wanted them to match it works great and the installation was pretty easy since we already had a over the stove microwave so I just had to drill a couple new holes in the bottom of the cabinet, and that was the most difficult of the install since the electrical plug just needed to be plugged into the original location.

My brother, sister and I gave this to our parents for Christmas. It says in it's description that it is easy to install. While it was an easy install, it wasn't all that easy. Definately takes two people. So far the parents say it's working fine though it's only been in use for a week.

    Simple and looks nice

All I wanted was a simple microwave that reheats leftovers, heats a cup of water, and looks good. This does exactly what I wanted. It operates very quietly. As for the annoying beeps that everyone complains about, it isn't that bad, the tone isn't a pleasant as it could be. If you want to stop the beeping when heating is complete, all you have to do is press the Stop/Cancel button before you open the door and it kills the beeping.

    Frigidaire Microwave

Purchased with a package deal. Price was good but if you have to get the installer then price way out of ball park for a microwave. I paid installer who came along (one man cannot hold the unit up by himself and do the work while holding it) I had to help while he put screws in. Microwave performs like it should. Only down side is the light inside is not bright enough, and dont even think about replacing it - CAN'T.

    A microwave worth avoiding

You will read other reviews that warn about the obnoxiously loud beep that sounds three times at the end of a cooking cycle. Do not make my mistake, which was to ignore those reviews. I reasoned, "Well, it can't be that bad." Yes, it can. My whole family HATED this microwave, to the point where we had it pulled out and replaced by a different model from a different company. In addition to the loud, irritating beeps (which cannot be silenced even by opening the door or hitting the "clear" button), this unit lacks basic convenience features, such as a dual timer. For instance, if you are using the timer, the oven itself is literally inoperable. You must cancel the timer to use the oven. This is stupid. Well, I've wasted enough time reviewing this despised unit. Caveat emptor. If you buy it anyway you have only yourself to blame.

Great product. Looks nice and works well. Our only complaint is that the beeping that tells you you food is ready is very high pitched to the point of uncomfortable and the darn things goes off multiple times even if you open the dirt and push cancel.

Low quality, poor features for the price.

I returned this item and bought a Samsung for $30 more. The Samsung is so much better. The Frigidare was extremely dissapointing. The installation was difficult. For some reason there are 3 large screws which hold it to the upper cabinet. Every other microwave I've ever installed had only two. The instructions were poorly written and the paper templates were useless. Once installed the operation of the unit just felt cheap. The buttons seemed to have to be pressed very hard to get it to operate. The light only has two modes, on and off. No intermediate 'night light' mode. Also, you can't use the kitchen timer if the microwave is operating. The clerk at Best Buy told me this feature was only available on "upgraded" models. BS. The Samsung and every other microwave I've every used has the ability to use the kitchen timer even when the oven is in use. After a week of dealing with this piece of junk, I pulled it out and returned it. You'll be much happier if you pay a little more for the Samsung. Frigidare has lost it. Junk.

    Nice Basic Microhood

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a nice basic microhood without a lot of bells and whistles. I had to replace a former Frigidaire microhood that lasted for 12 good long years and wanted to try to stick with a brand I had prior experience with. My only real problem with it was the weight. It was much too heavy for my kitchen cabinets and wall. It was a good 20 pounds heavier than any of the other over the range microwaves we looked at (everything else was out of stock due to the end of the year blowout sale). We had to take it down and return it before it pulled the cabinet from the wall. We will be ordering a lighter replacement and waiting a week for it to be delivered.

7 months old and turning on by itself

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Looks great, is quiet, but after 7 months (and little-normal use) it started turning on by itself- even in the middle of the night. The beeping that it does when done is extra annoying too. It comes with 1 year manufacturers warranty, so they're coming out this week to look at it, which is good. It matched the rest of the appliances, so if that wasn't the case, I would go with a different model in the same price range.
