Loud ice maker

Our third portable ice maker in 3 years. First two were Newair which lasted about a year each. Decide to switch brands this time. This Frigidare is a little smaller which is good. But it is very loud compared to others. Would not recommend.

Hi Jake - make certain it is sitting on a level surface that is secured eg. a counter top. Allow adequate space for ventilation.

So far I have been very happy with this ice maker. I have used different brands of ice makers, and I like this one the best. I like the light grey interior much better than white interior of the previous ice makers. Overall, I am very pleased with this ice maker and I highly recommend it.

It makes plenty of ice cubes out of 1 tankful of water. I am guessing it would overfull 2 average ice cube containers for storage in your freezer. Don't fill completely unless you need a lot of ice, say for a party or something like that

For me, I don't care for it. The ice melts super fast. The basket is way too small. It is ideal for one person. That's it.

Tip - to make firmer larger drier ice, use colder water. Allow the first couple of batches of ice to fall into the water reservoir to chill the water.
It is intended that ice produced be periodically transferred to zipper lock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.

This is a very cool addition to my kitchen...get it? Very good machine, works great. I have about 20 pounds of my ice in the backup freezer. Highly recommended.

This was a lot cheaper than fixing the ice maker in the fridge. It works great and doesn't take a lot of space.
