Checked with Consumer reports, Frigidaire units like this one got good ratings. The unit has been working great for the summer heat here in the mid west. The unit is okay for noise level, it is an air conditioner it will have some noise. The directional controls are easy to use and do change the direction of the air movement. It comes with a small remote, so if you get lazy you can change temp or turn on/off and set timer. Over all I would purchase it again. One improvement they can make, add a guard to protect the fines to the outside condenser, they are not protected at all and get bend easy.

I have another Frigidare that has worked perfectly for years. I picked this up on sale--excellent value for 12k air conditioner. Remote is great, turns on and off via the automatic thermostat, looks good and cools.

I needed this unit to cool down a larger family room added onto our home, It installed easily and does very well in keeping this room at a comfortable and cool level. I like the way the energy saver works.

This ac definately does the trick. It keeps my 3 bedroom trailer cool. My only complaint is it's kinda loud.

This AC cools down my whole living room and kitchen area. The remote is also very helpful and has quite a far distance. The unit is pretty big but that's expected for a 12000 BTU AC

I have this unit in a 700 sq ft room in the attic. This unit is a little loud even on the lowest setting, but does cool down this room fast so it does not have to run long.

This A/C unit is wonderful. Helps keep our house cool in the summer. The fact that it has a remote is even better!!

We went to the store to actually get another AC that was advertised but it was sold out. The sales guy for the appliance dept told us this was a great AC and he would give us discount because the box it was in was basically destroyed. So we took it and it works great. It cools nicely and fast. It's also MUCH quieter than any AC that i've ever had. We live in a 2bdrm apt and at night we keep our bedroom doors open and this will cool the entire apt. It doesn't get ice cold but it definitely cools to a very comfortable level where you're not warm but not too cold to where you want to turn it off. So far so good.

This 12,000 BTU unit replaced an 18,000 BTU unit, and seems to cool our 3 room area just as well. The remote is a plus.

I purchased this unit to cool a 460 sq ft kitchen with dinning area and high vaulted living room. The unit is in the sun and still managed to cool the space on 100 degree days. It can even be chilly to sit near the unit. The noise is to be expected for a unit this size. One thing I wish was different was when you turned it on, it went to Cool first not Econ mode. Sometimes when you're in a hurry, you forget to press it twice for Cool. If the room was hot to start, Econ won't get the job done. When it's in Cool mode it pumps though, exceeding my expectations, which is why I give five stars.

I purchased this unit admittedly for an area that is a little bit smaller than it is rated for, but I am very impressed with how quickly it cools. I also expected to have to buy a couple of smaller units to cool adjacent rooms, but to my pleasant surprise this air conditioner keeps both connected rooms comfortably cool even on very hot days. The unit is very efficient when using the "econ" mode, which shuts off the unit completely (not just the compressor, but the fan also) when the set temperature is reached. The thermostat can be a bit whacky, but not so much so to deduct a star... For example, when in the "econ" mode, the temperature that is actually maintained is several degrees warmer than the selected temperature. This is not an issue isolated to my unit as my parent's exhibits the same behavior. It is also very quiet, even at maximum fan speed with the compressor running. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

The units works well but is a little noisy. And the Eco setting seems to click on and off quite a bit. But it cools a 18x25' room pretty quickly.

We have a very very hot sun room that we put this in and it is working like a pro! It doesn't run all day long either. Great product and awesome price.

love it, love the remote i do not have to get up to change the temp. and it is cooling the house off real nice..i would buy this brand again if needed.

This unit is the business. I live in a garage studio with my two kids and for some reason are 8,000 btu ac just wasn't cutting it and it should have been perfect for are living space. So when it finally stop working cause I had it for 3 years. I decided to buy a larger one. So I went with this 12,000 btu unit and wow it works perfect. Me and kids love it!

My A/C works well and cools the specified area in the product specifications. I like the feature that tells you when to clean the filter by lighten up a yellow light in the front panel. I don't like the level of noise when I go to bed, too high for a bedroom. So, I would recommend it for living rooms, etc., but not for a bedroom.

Instantly cool a room with this 12,000 BTU. Definitely requires multiple people to install due to weight, but very fast and easy.

Does a great job for its size. Fit in window pretty good. Just a little noisy.

It works great, easy to install and it has a energy saver bottom. Very happy I choose this one. Definitely will recommend.

I bought this unit after my old Kenmore bit the dust after running 24/7 for about 10 years.. After 2 days of intense research on the net comparing every brand, type, power range and Energy guide consumer ratings I selected this unit and boy I am sure glad I did! It has exceeded all my expectations... I'm using it to cool my 475' Studio which has 16' ceilings. I installed it on a 92 degree day and it chilled my apt. down to 72 in less than an hour on the lowest fan setting! I am super picky and honestly didn't think I would find an a/c that was exactly what I was looking for in terms of cooling power and extra features... Much to my pleasant surprise this unit blew me away! It's super easy to install.. remarkably quiet and an all around winner!.
