It's not all the time, but when needs to reach temperature. Don't recall my existing making noise, but it could have, just lower sound.

Only thing I would change is to make one of the shelves on the door to be not so deep for smaller jars. The others are great being deep as gallon size milk fits well on door.

This one seems better in a lot of ways and more space on the shelves. Great fridge this far.
