Fringe, which lived under the shadow of cancellation for virtually its entire run, being moved to different nights and sometimes forgotten entirely by the network, managed to survive to its fifth and final season, and to go out on its own terms. This season takes place entirely in a dystopian future -- previewed in season 4's best episode -- in which the Observers have traveled back in time from a ruined Earth to conquer the planet, place it under authoritarian rule, and begin the process of terraforming the planet to make it virtually uninhabitable to human life. This season chronicles the Fringe team's attempts to implement Walter's plan to save humanity. All in all, I enjoyed this season the most of all five seasons of Fringe. Watching the team start to turn the technologies confiscated from the show's villains over the past four seasons against the Observers was really fun to watch, and I enjoyed the overarching narrative of this season more than any other before it. For Fringe fans, I think this is an easy must-buy.

The fifth and final season of Fringe was an exceptional one which continued some of the best science fiction storytelling ever on network television. Often a convoluted series, with parallel universes, alternate timelines, and the mysterious observers, this season seeks to tie everything together and answer questions from the series previous four seasons. At its best, Fringe never forgets the characters at the heart of its storytelling, and the finale is a bittersweet episode, which references everything that came before in terms of the relationships between the main characters. A must see for fans of great science fiction storytelling.

This is the final season of an awesome sci-fi show gone too soon I'd like to have seen some more. A lot of the theories are backed by science, or supposition by experts in different fields of science. Remember that a lot can happen from a theory when it inspires. Einstein had no intention nor inclination towards anything violent with his theories, his was related to space and the stars in it. Other people took that theory to the dark place that led to the atom bomb. Some of these theories proposed in this shows run make for an awesome sci-fi story.

My wife and I got hooked on Fringe after seeing it on Netflix. We couldn't wait for the final season so we picked it up at Best Buy where they price matched with Amazon. So we got it cheaper. As for the season, it was pretty cool. Much more intense and faster pace than the previous seasons. This season still has all the main characters, but it a different type of plot then the previous "detective" style plots in the first seasons. I personally liked the ending, but I could see why some people wouldn't like it. Good show.

Season 5 was a great series that came full circle with its main characters and story line. It did go away from focus on Olivia Dunum's character but gave us a chance to meet her daughter in the future. Walter and Peter Bishops relationship came together to fight against the Observers rule of earth in the future. All in All it was a great ending to a great t.v. series that will never be duplicated. I don;t want to go much into to the series if you have not seen season 5. It is a must see if your familiar with the series.

I have purchased all 5 series of the "Fringe" from Best Buy. I bought the 1st series in DVD because I didn't know if I'd like it or not. Now; I wish that I had purchased it in Blu-ray. This 5th and last season of the "Fringe" was as good as the other seasons. I liked the 1st two seasons the best because they had separate plots to each weekly showing. They ended the 2nd season with the plot that they continued for the 3rd, 4th and 5th (final) season. It ended well and I was sorry to see this series end.

Overall, definitely worth the money. The final season brings it all together and revisits some of the past Fringe events. After the final episode, it made me want to watch the whole series again to catch things I missed. The 13 episode season seemed really short. I have yet to watch all the extra features so I can't really comment on their quality. It is annoying that certain features are on certain disks so you have to keep changing disks to watch all the features at once (which is what I usually do after watching all the episodes.) Image quality is everything you would expect from a BluRay, and the special effects are on par with previous seasons.

I must admit, I was reluctant to put faith in another J J Abrams series after the disastrous ending of Lost. Sci-Fi can be intelligent and compelling, or it can feel scattered, preposterous, and unsatisfying. Fringe fell into the first category. Intriguing plots, characters you cared about, a good blend of reality and fantasy- all of these elements combined made Fringe a delight to watch week after week. I would have liked to see this series continue for more seasons, but I'm glad that they wrapped it up in a satisfying way before it seemed to lose its focus. This is a great, thought provoking show for sci-fi fans.

"Fringe" is one of those rare series that has a great sci-fi story line, wonderful characters (especially Walter...), and a love story to boot! Thank you Best Buy for having the best quality DVD's, made for sale in the US. Do some research on the internet and you will see that some places who charge less actually are selling DVD's made for other regions and they are not an excellent quality product!

this was an excellent way to end the series they tied up stories from prior seasons what happened to the alt universe the 1st observers use of some of the events from prior season episodes to their advantage. the final episode keeps you guessing. Sad to see it end. some good extras comic-con panel.

I have always been a fan of science fiction and "Fringe" suits the bill. The mixture of science, fiction, and levity was good throughout the five seasons. My only regret was that it ended too soon! The guest stars were great, especially Leanord Nimoy. The main actors interacted well and the plots were quite interesting. I just wish the series lasted longer!

loved the series and bought the 1st 4 after Christmas and season 5 wasn't available when it finally there cost what 2 of the others cost but that was what everybody else was charging it makes me laugh when they have TV series on sale BUT you can't find the first or second years,,, seems dumb to buy if you can't finish out the whole series

I've loved science fiction (no matter how fast and loose they play it with the actual science) since the X-Files. This show scratched that itch, and also pulled in influence from other greats, such as Twin Peaks. This season was a departure from the previous seasons, but I enjoyed the closure it delivered. Worth it, without a doubt.

This set ties up the final season of this excellent program and is essential viewing for anyone who followed the series. Great viewing for those 'binge' viewing days or 'snow days'. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it all again. I hope one day someone will make a film version of this.

This show is great, what started out as an X-Files clone blossomed into something fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the X-Files and Science Fiction in general. The characters are great and what happens in this season in insane. Watch this show.

Very good show really makes u think, also the characters are engaging abd at times very funny, the only thing is I wish they had made more than 13 episodes for the final season but all in all very good ending to a wonderful series, even one should watch this series.

If you have followed Fringe up to this point, you obviously have to see this great series thru to the end. The best part is that, from this reviewer's opinion, the ending will not let you down like it might have for other SciFi series. Yes, I'm looking at you - "Lost".

If you are a sci fi fan this the show for you. It's unfortunate that it only had five seasons as the concept could allow for several intriguing subplots to keep the series going for years. Good story with characters you grow attached to fast as a viewer. Awesome show!

Too bad it had to end. If you watched the end of season 4 then this is a must. Otherwise you're left terrible confused by the futuristic episode that seems randomly thrown-in toward the end of season 4. Ties up a lot of loose end, from previous seasons.

"Fringe" season 5 is a great wrap-up for the series, and the acting was great, but I was a bit disappointed by how the whole plot line for season 5 was focused around the Observers. I really liked the previous seasons, where the plot line and story changed from one episode to the next, but this season's plot and story was more limited.
